Hi, I'm kinda new to this program. Here are my specs
Athlon x2 3800
1gb ram
nvdia 6600gt
nforce 3 (nforce audio)
windows media center 2005
Cyberlink decoder
I have setup everything and the channels (zap2it labs) but I could not get any kind of sound. I can watch hdtv with audio using WATCHHDTV but I can't get GBPVR with audio. I've played around with audio renderer and decoder but still no sound. Please help coz this software seems to be a good one. THanks.
Music seems to work ok i.e. it is transcoded from wma to mp3 for the MVP. But if I select another track without stopping it first then the first selected track starts playing again.
It's like the transcoder isn't being stopped and restarted.
Is there a fix for this please? I'm using the latest release.
[2] Just to add one more twist I'm looking at upgrading from 0.94.13 to the latest version of GBPVR at the same time. Can I follow the same approach here or should I fist get version 0.94.13 working and then upgrade GBPVR?
[3] Is it actually possible just to install latest of everything new, and then copy the previously recorded shows (*.mpg) files onto the new drive? (i.e. assuming I'm happy to set up the scheduled downloads). That is, can I copy in video the GBPVR "recording" area and have GBPVR pick up this?
This post is the start of documenting "optional" skinning variables and elements....for the Wiki
Sub....could you please comment with those that comes to you mind ?
Main Menu
<SpecialElement name="Buttons" loc="x,y" spacing="z" alwayCentered="true/false"
maxVisibleButtons="w" allowTopBottomWrap="true/false" showNumbers="true/false"/>
Specifies location of button position, number of visible buttons. When using arrow up/down to select function you can Center active button or allow Wrap of button when the last button is selected.
<SpecialElement name="TaskDescription" visible="true/false" loc="x,y" size="l,w" align="Left/Center/Right"/>
Position the description of a buttons functionality. Disable/make description invisible.
<SpecialElement name="MoreUp" loc="x,y"/>
<SpecialElement name="MoreDown" loc="x,y"/>
MoreUp/MoreDown will position the arrows that are shown to guide user where more buttons are found.
<SpecialElement name="ForegroundTransparency" percent="x"/>
Will "dim" the GUI. Setting it to 100% is recommended
<SpecialElement name="Inset" loc="x,y" size="l,w"/>
Specifies location and area where the video window for TV or music visulisation is shown if the home key is pressed to the get to the main menu
<SpecialElement name="CloseButton" loc="x,y" size="l,w" />
Defines the area where a mouse click will close sub menu or exits program in main menu.
Main Menu Objects for SpecialElements
CloseButton Element needs an Image for Main Menu and the same in all Sub Menus
<CompositeImage name="Background" size="720,480">
<DrawImage filename="background.jpg" loc="0,0" size="720,480" />
<DrawImage filename="close_button.png" loc="x,y" size="35,35" />
</CompositeImage>
Panels
Panels are visual elements that will show status informtion for different sub menu functions.
Panels might be plugin DLL files. Panels XML files are located in the /panels dir.
Is there any way that GBPVR could check the aspect ratio of the video file to be played and change it (or add side bars) so that MVP displays it without having to change the ratio on the [widescreen] TV?
Also, is there any way of allowing us to change from PAL to NTSC and back so that we can view files of the other broadcast type without the normal problems of the picture not filling the screen properly? I assume it can't be done automatically but since it can be changed using the MVP software, there must be a way that a "switch" could be added so that we can change it on the fly?
I don't mean to complain though, GBPVR is one of my favourite programs, I love it to bits and admire Sub tremendously for creating it, supporting it, and letting us use it free of charge. Thank you sir!
Hello - I have been using GB-PVR along with a MediaMVP. The shows that I have recorded are not showing up in the GB-PVR menu, either through my MediaMVP or on the HTPC. The recording files show on the hard drive in the directory that I created (and configured through config). The recordings are there, they are just not showing up - any ideas? :confused:
I recently got Net Radio feature working on 0.96.12 but ran into a problem. I can successfully connect to and play a stream but when I try to stop it either via the UI stop button, escape, or CTRL-S the audio keeps on playing for around 30 sec before actually stopping. If I start another stream before the first one stops the two overlap one another.
I tried readjusting the net radio buffer to be either smaller or larger but that does not seem to have an effect.
I rip DVDs to MPEG2 for playback on my MVP. I'd like to have some method of chapter skipping. I would imagine that DVD chapter markers could be converted to a comskip .TXT file, which would at least let me skip forward to the next chapter point..
After reading the article that DenGuru put on their website about GB PVR I have become very much interested in this program, and I'm sure you guys have been having an influx of forum members since the article was published, so sorry for all of these incomming questions that I'm sure have been posted a million times.
My main question is what will be putting the load on the computer that requires relatively *new* hardware to run? Is it the recording, the converting, the streaming, etc?
Also, what are the common plugins that go along with the basic GBPVR and what do they give you beyond the basic download?
How many capture cards do you guys run and how many shows can each card record? I am guessing now that this depends on the card.... lets assume a Hauppage (sp?) 150.
I guess I don't really understand what goes on between the live TV and the computer, it gets saved in a format that then needs to be edited for commercials and then needs to be compressed or put into yet another format? Could someone please explain more?
Lastly the question you all dread... minimum specs. I was thinking about a small, no frills, PVR for my TV that could record 2 shows at once but be very basic and would be dedicated as an HTPC but wouldn't be a TOTAL dog when it came to speed. I understand RAM is always good, and processor speed as well... I'm trying to keep it kinda cheap but willing to spend the nessesary, any ideas?
Thank you so much for taking the time to read my post and hopefully respond, I hope to go ahead with this project and then maybe later help the next noobie who comes along!
