GBPVR seems to be basically working however I've noted I can't get back into the "map digital channels to EPG channels" area as I get a Debug Assertion Failed error each time. I do have the required .net runtime installed per the wiki.
I'll attach a document with (a) screen dumps and the (b) logs/config files.
Thanks
(Getting very close to being back on the air after the rebuild)
I'm a rather new user to GBPVR but so far I love it. But I've had some problems. GBPVR likes to freeze up and causes me to have to restart my computer.
When it freezes the whole computer stops responding, Ctrl,Alt,Del does nothing and I'm forced to press the restart button on the case.
Now my computer doesn't freeze when I'm running anything else. It only does it when GBPVR is running. Any ideas?
Where do the little pictures that the video archive panel displays for upcoming recordings come from? The reason I ask, is that it is displaying a picture of Dennis Miller for a pending recording of "Real Time With Bill Maher"!
There is no option to play DVDs in the main menu. In the configuration window, under the plugins tab, I have every option checked for Main Manu items. All of them appear in the Main Menu except for DVD. Any ideas on why this would be?
I tried searching if this has been asked before in the forums but couldn't find anything on it.
I was wondering if it's possible to control gbpvr from another computer over the LAN? I guess what I would like is something like remote desktop connection so that what i see on my screen is what's happening on the gbpvr machine and what is shown on the t.v.
The problem with remote desktop connection is that once you log on remotely, you get logged off locally on the gbpvr machine and on the television, all you see is the user login screen (not gbpvr or the shows that i want to playback).
Anyone have any ideas or understand what I'm asking? lol
Hopefully the author will see this, or someone can help me.
I have several accounts on this machine that i wish to have access to; some of them are mine, some are other peoples. What id like to do is have a pin number for each email. Is this a realistic ask?
Also, i read that he was going to do image download support, but its not working on mine; has this been implimented?
Hi all,
For the most part GBPVR is behaving well. I'm quite impressed. Only one more issue, unfortunatly it's quit a big one.
Live TV seems to play like a slideshow. Not all the time mind you, or else I'd be certain that I had codec issues or something. It seems to behave okay for a few mionutes, even up to half an hour or so. Playback is smooth and continuous. Then it starts to have a few hiccups which stedily gets worse untill it is playing at about 5 frames per second.
I'm running a PVR-150 on a Celeron 2.2G with only 256 of RAM. I know I need more memory 256 is pathetic, especially under XP. I've looked at herd disk thrashing and CPU load and neither seem excessive. The HD is almost at idle, probably because I'm not timeshifting, and the CPU is at about 60%.
Anybody have any suggestions what to try or where to start looking? I'm not entirely sure if it's lack of resources or codecs/drivers or what. It's a dedicated HTPC so it's only running GBPVR and HIP really, I've shutdown most other unused services as well.
I am running:
GB-PVR v0.96.12 Hauppage PVR2 USB2 I have the following drivers:Hauppauge Video Decoder version 5
WinTV-PVR-USB2 driver update version 2.2.73_ driver and middleware
Driver: pvrusb2_2273_24023.zip
Middleware: pvr24xxx_30_24062.exe
GB-PVR v0.96.12
I have setting as follows in GB-PVR:
Capture source: usb2,
Recording sourceirect Recording Plugin:Hauppauge WinTv PVR2 USB2
Medium Quality
Playback: Hardware Decoder Device:none-use software decoder
Software MPEG-2 Playback: InterVideo NonCSS Video Decoder VMR9
minimal OSD during playback checked
My issue is that I have pretty frequent stutter in playback. I have really bad issues if I try to watch while its recording. In live I have some I have been reading, and noted that going to the task manager and setting the GBPVRtray and GBPVRrecordingservice to a high priorty. I did't notice any difference.
I downloaded the hcw2_7_24023_usb2\misc\utility file with the usbtest and it says I am running USB 2.0. This is the only usb device I have on my system (no external hub). Is ther anything else I can do to get this thing workable without the lagging and stutters? Thanks in advance. I'm about 5 hours into this on my Saturday. What a hobby
I have installed the latest dvrs and still have the long-standing problem where a machine reboot causes a loss of audio in both my 150's. The only fix I know of is to simply change channels when on live tv and the sound comes back. (A bit more fiddly now I have two cards). It is as if something is not being initialised and gets fixed with the tv channel change.
Does anyone else see this? Does anyone know of a fix, even if it is something that gets run at each re-boot? This is getting more pressing as I am getting asked to install GBPVR for friends!
I have the remote coming with wintv pvr usb2 (45 keys). From what I understand GBpvr can control this without Hauppauges ir32.exe running, but this doesn't happen to me. I need to restart the ir32.exe for my remote to function. I remember once I ticked the option for "Use direct access to Hauppauge Remote", but now I have it unchecked. Since the ir32.exe keeps failing to initialize remote hardware this is a bit boring.
