Did a whack of reading today trying to find an answer to this but I just wanted to confirm:
There is no way to get PPV channel info on the GB EPG? I'm using the Zap2it plugin but can also use the xmltv plugin if needed. Any way to get PPV info?
I'm sorry if this information is already in this forum but I wasn't able to find either of my questions in here ... there are quite a few posts here.
The PVR hardware that I am using is the 150-MCE which includes the microsoft remote and ir blaster. I am in the process of figuring out hip and I am getting somewhere with that.
My first problem that I am having is that the remote skips. Instead of just moving one space it moves two ... makes it a little hard to do anything. If I even click on ok on the remote it does it twice instead of once. I am not sure why that is.
The other problem is that when I set GB-PVR to record a show it doesn't change the channel to the proper one. It just seems to leave off with the last channel that you were on.
Is thehere anyone using this USB external device to watch tv?
I cannot make it work with nothing but the Pinnacle Media center that is terribly heavy and has not been thought for a removable device like this USB2 one!
I searched the forum for "310e" but I found nothing... :-(
I have set a number of recordings (via normal tv guide and selecting record on my remote - appropriate programme turns red - so all looks well)
It then seems to be recording according to the pending however it cannot stop the recording.
The logs show:-

Hey guys, your probably getting sick of me but I finally found a Media MVP on Buy.com (finally got some in stock). When I recieve my MediaMVP and set it up, as in plug it in next to the TV, connect it to the TV and plug the ethernet in it. What should I do next? Should I not even bother with Hauppage software and just use GBPVR or what do I need to do to get it running with no hassles?
My live preview used to be crappy. But after playing with the filters I now get nice smooth TV most the time. The video plays smoothly for a few minutes. Then (seemingly) randomly I get a little jerky or hang that effects the video and occasionally the audio - then back to smooth playback again. I wonder if this is an interrupt or windows service getting in the way? This doesnât happen on recorded video. This is a dedicated PVR but networked to a desktop. Any ideas appreciated?
Specs for reference.
CPU: Celeron 2.53 MHz
RAM: 512 Mb
Graphics: Gigabyte Fx5200 128Mb (usingTV out.)
Tuner: 2x Twinhan DVB-T
Has anyone else had a problem fastforwarding into the end of the file while it is still recording on your MVP. I often start shows 10 minutes late or so then FF through the commercials. Only problem is when you fast forward into the end of the file, the MPV dies. It kind of recovers on reboot but it seems like it behaves really strangely afterwords and gets really slow until I restart GBPVR.
It would be nice if GBPVR would block you from running into the end of the file. It could force pause or go into standard play mode if there was less than 30 seconds left on an actively recording file.

[1] Is the basic concept that you have to record TV in full mpg first, and then do compression as an afterfact? I'm guessing due to the performance/intensity of grabbing the mpeg2 format to disk first?
[2] If yes what is the basic concept/design to compress automatically? Is it something like:
- dirmon - to monitor for new recordings (but how does it tell if the file is finished?)
- triggers mencoder for transcode
- puts the final compressed version in the gb-pvr recording area - but can you just copy an AVI file into this GB-PVR directory and it will pick it up with a recording? or does it need to be registered in some GB-PVR database? I note if you put AVI's in the video area you then can't delete them through the interface
- delete original
