Just a thought, but the developers of BaseSkin and Appearance Manager appear to be making huge inroads into what is fundamentally the same problem. How about a bit of collaberation to make one "super" solution?
I just ordered a Dell e310 scratch and dent from their outlet to use as a media gateway. It it has a 2.8ghz p4 processor,160gig hd,dvd burner, and just the dell integrated audio and graphics cards. I have dishnetwork 211 hd receiver with a sony 52 in. rear proj. t.v. and home theater system. I would like to have pvr capabilities,be able to stream my music and photos from my main computer through my wireless router and surf the net on my tv. The computer is coming with MCE installed.I really need advice on tuner/video cards also will I need a better sound card?

Hi,
I've started to see a problem with playback. gbpvr 96.12 + mvp. There's also a patch on but I can't recall exactly what it was for (fading memory <sigh>). There are 2 issues here. The first is when I select a recorded Tv show for play, the mvp drops back to 'connecting to servers'. A second probably related issue is the mvp suddenly drops in the middle of a playback. This is usually with a pre-recorded mpg show.
I've attached a zip of all the logs for this. Hope they show something useful.
Thanks,
Greg.
I have just purchased a Kworld DVB-T 220 (well, actually a Tevion DVBT-220RF from Aldi here in Australia, which I believe is the same thing), and am having no end of problems mapping the channels.
For each channel scanned, I get both a strength and quality of 0.
The card was correctly detected by GB-PVR, and I have tried a couple of XMLTV plugins, all of which grab correct information on the channels.
I have also tried other suggestions from these forums, such as setting the BDAScanType to 2 in the config.xml.
The logs (attached) show no obvious errors.
Both ShowShifter and the software which came with the card scan the digital channels fine.
I was havving problems with any form of timeshifting in GBPVR. In other words any time GBPVR would use its own GBPVRParser the video stuttered extremely. Only overclocking the processor to 2.4 gHz would help out.
I now discovered that the problem is due to GBPVRParser passing its data on to the video decoder trough a TCP/IP connnection which is picked up by the Netlimiter built in firewall causing the system process to consume so much processor power that video did not play properly any longer. Disabling the Netlimiter firewall solves the problem.
Up to find an alternative firewall that enables port/application filtering....
Hello to all - I've searched and searched for a solution, and I know I'm being a numpty and missing something obviouse - but please tell me what it is:
I've got VideoLan and DaemonTools installed, along with GBPVR and XDVD.
I can't get XDVD to play/transcode/save anything!
When I try to open an ISO (either on the PC client or my MVP), a dos window quickly flashes up on the server, then closes, and nothing happens. I think the error says something about a path not being valid, and sleep command possibly? The closes really quick and that's all I can see.
If I have the VideoLan window actually up and running on the server, then the green square appears in the MVP section of XDVD, but as soon as you select an ISO in the menus, that DOS windows flashes up, VideoLan quits, and the green square disappears.
I get a weeny (few KB) MPG files created in my C: root, but nothing more. I'm presuming it should carry on building up and start playing when it's buffered enough?
Occassionally, the XDVD section in the MVP will show 0/150 in the top left corner, which again, I'm assuming is supposed to give an indication of how far along the transcode process is - but it stays at 0.
Please please help - what am I missing?

I am fairly new to this, only got my Nova-T the other day and have finally unleashed the potential of my MVP, this software is excellent!!!
I upgraded to v.96.12 and applied the patch but now my TV guide and search listings have emptied. I have reinstalled GBPVR, re-entered my capture device, tried bleb (its down at the moment), tried XMLTV GUI to create a xml file of the guide which I have pointed the EPG to. I have updated EPG, refreshed channel lists and even tried a different Guide from the plugin Xrecord. The time on my system is also set correctly.
I am at absolute loss as to why my TV guide does not show. The channels I have selected from the capture device and EPG mapping are there but no programme details. I can't even search.
Before I reinstalled, my recordings that were set up showed in the guide and recorded, but the rest of it was empty. Since I cleared everything out nothing shows.
I have a WinTV-PVR-150 Model 1045, and have been trying to set up the system so as to allow me to change the channels on my STB. I've been trying to do this with the aid of HIP and HIPSEND. However, I have had no success, and wanted to know whether it was because I have the model 1045 and not the WinTV-PVR 150 MCE Kit model 1062. Does hip not work with the remote included with the model 1045? Does it only work with the media center remote included in model 1062?
