I made myself many thoughts and had many tests and now there are two possible ways ... either I make myself a total idiot or I can help someone solve this thing ...
I did it like this:
Task sheduler in windows starts xmltv.exe at 04:14h (awaking the machine from standby)
My problem was ... while gbpvr is running it won't get back to standby after updating
So now ... at 05:00h gbpvr updates the epg and at 05:15h tmsShutdown (freeware) brings the system back to standby.
So when my wife hits the button next day ... the machine comes back from standby ... GBPVR in foreground running and EPG is completely updated.
As I said before ... maybe this is crap ... but if it helps anyone ......
If some of you know a more elegant way to do the same ... PLEASE ... tell me !!!
Hi, I've been trying to get on the main site (http://www.gbpvr.com/) for a while now but it seems to be down.. (either that or my isp is playing up)
I'd like to get hold of the install file tonight if its possible, if anyone has the install file I'd be grateful if you could host it for me, or send via email
Firstly, I've only just got the oppurtunity to update my GBPVR version to the latest (The last time I updated was around August last year - ouch!). Firstly, I'm amazed at the progress and the new features, it's great - especially ffmpeg transcoding. Just wanted to say it's great to see how far and how well GBPVR is doing
One thing which I noticed straight away though, is that gbpvr.exe -mvpmode -visible which previously allowed the MVP to be controlled via the PC doesn't seem to work anymore, and this was one of the most important features for me. When I use it, the display shown on the PC is black, although everything else works normally (using the remote and the display on the TV screen through the MVP).
I know it was not an officially supported feature, but is there anything I'm doing wrong which might be simple and allow it to work, or any other ideas on how to get it working again?
I'd appreciate any help or ideas - thanks in advance
Please send me in the right direction if this problem is addressed in previous posts.
During playback of recorded material, my audio and video go out of sync when skipping (forwards more so than backwards). This also occurs when commercial skipping via comskip is enabled. Following skip, video plays for about five to ten second without sound and then pasues. Sound starts up and continues until it catches up with the paused video, and then playback continues normally. Renders commerial skipping somewhat useless, as I end up skipping back to catch the sound for the begininng of each segment.
I have tried many different combinations for the playback settings (audio/video decoders and audio renderred, et cetera) and these adjustments have not changed the problem. I have updated drivers and I have done the directX quartz.dll replacement as well. Occurred with the previous and newest GBPVR versions. Other than this issue all aspects of playback appear to fine. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

I am new to the forum and just installed the GBPVR. Install went good, except I can't get 2 features to work. I think they are both related to the IR Blaster not functioning.
1. I cannot get the MCE Remote to change channels. The channels change when I press the buttons (You can see it when channel overlay is on), however the channels don't change on my external tuner. (Using an external Comcast Digital Tuner) I assume the IR Blaster isn't working.
2. The IR Blaster won't change channels when I schedule a recording on a different channel.
I am using the ATI Theater 550 Pro card. I have chosen the MCE IR Blaster for the channel changer. I have created a device profile for my IR Blaster and trained it with my cable remote. Still no dice. I did some searching, but came up blank. Any help is appreciated.
...if anyone has a Nebula DigiTV PCI card they would be willing to lend me for a short while (perhaps a month) I would be interested to hear from you. I would be prepared to pay the postage in both directions and also contribute a modest sum to your 'beer fund' or similar.
I might also consider buying second-hand if the price was right but I don't have much spare cash at the moment (I'll be unemployed in a few days time  ).
As I said, a shot in the dark but please PM me if you can help.
I have something odd going on in the Music Player plug in. I make a playlist from media player but when I open it up in Music Player some of the songs don't show up. I just did a 30+ song list and only 22 entries show. I can find and play the tracks individually if I look in the directory they just aren't showing up in the MP plug in. If I open the playlist in win media the tracks are right there.
The only thing I can think of is recently I consolidated al of my music files on to my E: drive. Some got moved from other drives they were on but as I said it seems to see them correctly.
I had to re-install gbpvr to solve an unrelated issue, now I cannot change channels. It has been so long since I first installed, I forgot how I got it working.
I have the PVR-150 with built-in IR blaster transmitter. When I use the Hauppage BlastCfg test utility to change channels the channels change so that's not the problem.
When I go to select Channel Changer, I am offered:
RedRat
IR200L
Girder
NoChannelChanger
.exe
USB
MCE2005
I could swear there used to be a Hauppage IR Blaster option?
Music Library is a cracking plugin, it really makes the most of my mp3's and looks great especially with the visualisations (even if the WMP ones are a bit rubbish).
What i cant figure is if there is a button (on haup 34 btn remote) in the playlist screen to switch between visualisation in a window and full screen?
I can currently do it by going to main menu and getting fullscreen vis, but its a bit messy cos to return i press ok and end up back at the music library screen?
P.S. has anyone got any alternate visualisations to work through WMP/GBPVR, Ryan Geiss' Milkdrop in particular?
