ok, this is my first pvr endeavor, and i'd just like to say that i'm blown away by the quality/funtionality of gbpvr. And I thought all this old pc was good for was streaming net radio. Its not often i have a jaw drop every hour or so as i discover some new feature of the program i'm using.
I find that, despite having digital satelight and using an S Video cable the image is very soft looking, to the point where some text on screen is hard to read.
I also found that in the recording source Edit menu, if I select "High quality" in the Quality Profile Settings, and hit OK. Going back into that menu, it has gone back to Medium. I don't know if this is related to my above problem, but assistance on either or both issues is greatly appreciated.

Tinkering with some of the configuration, I now get the message: Failed to locate configured capture device. Any idea on how to fix this?
Got some logs here from developing my ML2 plugin. I have a setting that once a playlist finishes it starts a new one. I can see the first one stopping in the logs and the new one is generated.
It says that it's started the new playlist but nothing comes out, if I skip forward it carries on like nothing is wrong. I had a quick look in the native log and it's got a stop command in there.
This is my dev machine, but i did copy over that nativeUtilities you patched for music that wouldn't stop.
Not sure if it's just my plugin or gbpvr. I can post the plugin to you if you wish for testing, code as well if you want (since I'm not sure there's anything in native gbpvr that would work the same).
The latest version of I-xmltv adds Movie & TV enhancements to GBPVR’s TV Guide.
It is available for download in the wiki, and called TVGuide Supercharger
For now, I’m leaving the original version (without TV Guide enhancements) and its updates in this thread.

Hi everybody,
I originally wrote this for my own use, but the benefit will be if other people use this and we reduce the Zap2It server load.
I’d like to get some feedback on the instructions, operation, UpdateEPG.bat and some bug reports before posting this for general use.
Beta, expect changes, use at your own risk, some things were just finished today.
A side benefit is, if Zap2It limits downloads to 3-days like earlier in the year the user shouldn’t even notice the problem. Because this utility downloads today & tomorrow (2-days), then any missing days and the last day one day at a time.
If your only downloading 3 or 4-days at a time, stick to what you have now.
But If you’re like me and like downloading a week or more at a time, this utility could make a difference.

v06.4.17 - Updated version, 4/17/06
If you downloaded the previous version delete the old zip. Replace I-xmltv.exe and UpdateEPG.bat with the ones from this version.
v06.4.17 Changes:
Fixed potential problem: Improved I-xmltv incremental xml "date check" logic.
I-xmltv.exe now uses the first program listing where the starting, and ending, dates match.
Fixed potential problem: Delete all out-of-date xml files before organizing the incremental file order.
Added: leap year logic.
Added: Converts "UTC" entries (in a specified xml file) to GBPVR compatible "+0000".
I want to use overlay to get rid of the slight pauses and jitters when changing channels in live tv mode. When I set it to overlay, the OSD goes off the screen like it is too wide and I can't read all of it. I'm use the purevideo decoder with a geforce 6200.
Hellooooo,
I need some help, I have a Kworld ATSC 110 card installed, and I only want to use the analog tuner on it. Everything I've read is to set-up the HD tuner. does anyone know what I need to do? The error message I got is... "index was outside the bounds of the array."
Thanks Kev
Hey gang. I've been running GBPVR for over six months, and having a grand old time. Everything's been humming along nicely, until this week when I started having problems.
As far as I can tell, I've made absolutely no changes in the system. There's plenty of disk space on the drive, I haven't made any hardware or software changes, etc. It just suddenly started screwing up. The "screwup" is different on the MediaMVP than on the computer. If I'm watching LiveTV on the MVP, it goes for a little while then starts repeating... "I'll get you meddling kids, if it's the last, last, last, last, last, last," etc. If I watch LifeTV from the computer, it plays but with terrible vertical striping. If I try to record and then watch the recording, it only records 9 or 10 seconds, no matter if it's on the MVP or PC. I updated to 96.12, just in case, but I get no joy.
What could this be? Can anybody help? I've got a game tomorrow that I desperately want to record.
EDIT: That's weird. Now LiveTV won't work at all... I just get a blank screen. Recording and then watching that recording leads to a "Error: Failure playing back file" error message. I can play back previous recordings.
i updated the EGP and i know it downloaded alright because i can use the search listings feature to look at shows on different channels, but for some reason whenever i go into the tv listings screen, there is no info whatsoever... any ideas?
Hi how can I get the screen on the MVP to refresh after an event happens.
I know people have tried putting a playback position on music players and they don't go, I accept that, but I've just been looking at the code for updating the screen on my Music library and it is all being called, and all called correctly to update the screen when the track changed from 1 to another. I've added logging that interogates all of the counters and they have all updated.
The only thing that doesn't happen is the physical image on the MVP screen doesn't change.
Does the PluginHelper.ForceRepaint() work in this situation or is there something else I should be using??
