I've used HIP to learn the buttons I need that aren't recognised by default within GB-PVR (live TV, recordings etc).
I'm using the alternative MCE remote driver and have installed HIP and ticked the correct plugin etc. I've connected an IR blaster the to the IR receiver and attached it to the front of the set top box.
I've setup HIPsend to work with GB-PVR.
Here's where I stand:
- I can reliably control GB-PVR with the remote.
- I have learned the SKY remote controls with HIP and testing the blaster works consistantly (changes channels well when testing the 0-9 keypad values I've learned).
- I'm able to get GB-PVR to reliably change channels on the set top box using the keyboard (triggers the blaster, which is picked up by my sky box)
Problem:
I can't consistantly use my MCE2005 remote to change the channel on the sky box. More often than not, GB-PVR thinks it's changed, and this is indicated by the on screen info, but either the blaster doesn't send the signal to the Sky box, or else it doesn't get read properly.
I don't understand why this works with using the keyboard...
It seems to be more reliable when selecting a program from the TV guide than it is from the number pad on the remote too.
Any suggestions on how I can make this reliable?
I tried a few things:
- Varied the location of the blaster - this didn't make a difference, and anyway, it works consistantly during the testing from HIP
- Tried moving the IR Receiver away from the IR Blaster in case it was interfering - didn't make a difference
- Tried different commands when sending the HIPsend codes to HIP...
Here's how I called HIPsend from the command line for the 0 keypad:
hipsend 0
I've read that the timings can be a factor, and also tried:
hipsend 0 700
Any help would be much appreciated. I love the setup, but would need to get more consitant results...
I have set up an account with dyndns and gotten a .net address based on my dynamic IP address for my home internet connection (and I use the .net address to vpn to home, so it seems to be working), but when I put teh .net address in http://my addy.net:7647/gbpvr/index.aspx? it times out.
Anyone got any idears, I'm not runinng a software firewall on the PVR so thats not it. If worse comes to worse, I can stick with my VPN method, but its not as cool.
I can record to mpeg using Gbpvr and my PX-TV402U but even though it seems like its set to record to MPG4_Divx in the config.exe all I get is normal mpeg files.. I read the forum allot but still no answers here. I plead for help from anyone who has the experience to help me. This is my very first post here, and I've been reading through the forums for a whole year now and every question I've ever had was answered for everyone else, that really does speak well for all of you. So I'm stumped, and I've created my user name today and I look forward to being in the mix
When I click Live TV an Error message pops up that says "Error: Object reference not set to an instance of an object". Any ideas on that? thanks alot
Matt
I have three open issues I'm working. Hopefully someone out there can assist. 1st my config. I have a PVR-350 card, I'm using an ATI Radeon 7000 card for my s-vid output to my TV with the WMR7 codec. (I wanted to be able to play over video formats (other than MPEG2))
My 1st problem - After about 10-15 minutes of innactivity (sitting at main GBPVR menu) my ATI card drops the video signal to the s-vid connection. I can restore the video by simply hitting my mouse (Which is annoying since this box is in my AV cabinet). I checked and hybernation is not enabled. The video comes right back when you hit the mouse so it's just dropping the signal for some reason. I DO have the GBPVR screen saver set and it does come on after 2 mins. I tested this out today and also found that if I'm watching live TV it DOESN"T drop the signal, so it's only when I'm sitting at one of the menus. Anyone have any ideas?
2nd problem - Some recordings and LiveTV seem to have little spots (kinda like stuck pixels on an LCD screen) all over the screen. I didn't see this when I used the pvr-350 S-Vid output. Is this normal? Can I get rid of them?
3rd problem - Not a big deal... When I watch LiveTV (Never really do this), the playback is a little choppy. Again I don't really use tihs box to watch live TV, so this is'nt critical, but I'm figureing it's all related so....
I'm sure there is a simple answer for this, but I've searched the forums and can't find it. What are the GBP keyboard commands for Vol up, Vol down, and Mute.
It is basically the same card as the 200e, only difference being that the 200e is sold with an active antenna (60e has a passive one).
So you would think that it should work flawlessly.
I copied and pasted the Pinnacle 200e bit in bda.ini, then changed the names to the ones it shows in graphedit (only '200e' being replaced with '60e').
So I select this card in the config, no problems. But when I scan for channels it doesn't find any. It can't be a signal strength thing, because with MediaPortal (same BDA drivers) I get about 50 TV channels (I'm in London, Crystal Palace transmitter).
Is there anything else I need to check/change for setting it up correctly?
I am experiencing bad picture break-up when watching or recording BBC3 & 4 with GBPVR. I thought it was a bad signal but if I run the Yakumo TV viewer the picture is competely solid, no break-up or stuttering at all.
I am using the Freecom DVB-T with the Yakumo BDA drivers (Win XP). Obviously its not the Freecom or the drivers, can anyone suggest whyu there would be such a discrepancy in picture quality when using GBPVR and how I can fix it? (CPU is never above 30% btw).
I have just upgraded to the curent GBPVR software and tried to upload the Bleb(UK) EPG. The secindary window opens and shows that the information is being downloaded, however, when I look at the programme guide there is no information there.
Am I doing something wrong? Has Bleb (UK) stopped it's service?
