  Listings
Posted by: codacoda - 2006-04-05, 01:28 PM - Forum: Developers - Replies (1)

I have two theathers in my area (Key West, FL - 33040) It only pulls up one. The Regal, and not Tropic Cinema. Any idea why? The web services I've used in the past have always pulled up both.

Anyway, great program, and no worries. Just currious where you are pulling the listings from.

  GBPVR System menu
Posted by: lif - 2006-04-05, 01:14 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - No Replies

Is there any way/option/definition (in config.xml?) that when I go to System menu, the selector bar (or is it in English highlighted option?) is automatically on "Main menu" not on "Shutdown".

The problem is that sometimes remote control unit won't have clear line of sight to receiver and works badly or with some delay and therefore this is not unusual then I press OK button on remote on Main Menu to go to System menu and GBPVR won't respond quickly, so I don't know is the transmitted signal lost or is CPU too busy and I press second time and then suddenly voila! Shutdown is on screen.

  Confirm Config: Processing
Posted by: zehd - 2006-04-05, 12:18 PM - Forum: Forum Issues & Documentation - Replies (1)

Finishing up the config pages on the wiki, and it occurred to me to ask if something I was about to write was right...

I'm sure that if ParallelProcessing.bat or PostProcessing.bat, then the Commerical Detection choice is ignored.

But what about the Wake up, Delete Original, Update Database, and Conversions choice? Are those settings ignored too, in favour of the PostProcessing.bat ?

Many thanks in advance

  colliding recordings/guide descriptions/dual channel sound/etc...
Posted by: therealshatting - 2006-04-05, 11:37 AM - Forum: Wishlist - No Replies

a few things that would make an already very content gbpvruser almost completely happy:

- possibility to cut one of two colliding recordings off. i.e additional menu entries to where it now says "cancel new" and "cancel existing". something like "cut new" and "cut existing"...

- longer descriptions in tvguide, i.e. a scrolling bar... ive recently written a convert-app that converts very detailed programme-information to xmltv and id love to being able to see more of that info.

- usage of more xmltv-fields.

- dual-channel sound. maybe ive missed something here, but dual-channel doesnt work with my pvr350, i get original language one side and dubbed the other side and no way (besides unplugging one channel from my stereo) to select the channel.

- i often listen to radio using the wintv radio app. recordings get corrupted if started while this is running. i tried using the recording-starts-batchfile but its too slow and doesnt block recording from starting in gbpvr.
ive partly resolved this by using gbpvr radio instead of wintv-radio.

- some way to enqueue mp3s (a dynamic playlist).

thank you,

stephan

Manually updating XML file vs EPG Update
Posted by: cary328is - 2006-04-05, 11:02 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (2)

I have been manually updating the XML file in order to get more TV listings...isn't this what EPG Update is supposed to be doing? By updating the XML file I mean going into a command window and executing the XMLTV.EXE TV_GRAB_NA_DD --OUTPUT tvguide.xml line. I thought that the EPG update is supposed to be updating the channel listings as well. For instance, if I'm getting listings for 4 days and the 4th day is here, I expect EPG update to get the next 4 days. It doesn't do that. Instead I have to manually run XMLTV again to do that. Am I misunderstanding what EPG Update is supposed to be doing? -sorry I'm new to all this. I'm a recent transfer from the Tivo/ReplayTV subscription service where it automatically updates the guide.

gbpvr newbie - need help with my remote
Posted by: wackman - 2006-04-05, 10:48 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (2)

Hey all,

I just did a quick search and couldn't really find an answer to what I'm going through. If I missed something glaringly obvious, I'm sorry.

I've got a pvr-150MCE with the MCE remote that comes with it. GBPVR working fine, I've got a theme I like for now, and recording seems OK (just upped the default recording quality to high, so that should be good).

Anyway, the remote works fine in the guide and live tv, but it doesn't work 100% anywhere else in GBPVR. If I'm watching a recorded show, I can't fast forward, skip ahead, or even go back to the main menu until it's finished. If I'm watching a dvd, I can navigate the menu, pick things (like a chapter to jump to), but once I play, I can't skip to the next chapter or jump backwards. I can't even pause or stop. I can go to a chapter by entering it manually, but there's nothing displayed on the screen, so I have to assume I'm entering in the right chapter.

Any tweaks I can do to get this working? Any key mapping (or deffinitions applet) I can do? The issue with not showing the keys I'm typing on the screen is the smallest of the annoyances, but I'd like to clear that up if possible.

Does any of this have to do with the players associated with the functions. For example, my dvd player installed is intervideo windvd. Would it be different if I installed cyberlink? Is there a way to define something like Media Player Classic or VLC as defaults? I'd like to go all free software if possible.

I know, this is probably 4 posts in one, but thanks for any help anyone can pass along.

Wackman

Hi

You may remember I had problems some months ago.....

anyway, I've rebuilt the PC since then.....and have reinstalled everything.....still can't get MyVideos/DVDs to work.....

the demux.ajb file is created - I think the problem is when it tries to run MPLEX. Below is the demux file, and what the cmd line prog is doing....
