Any ETA on PVR2000 being supported?
Posted by: vynbos - 2006-04-05, 06:53 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (7)

I have a PVR2000 and I don't like the winfast software for time shifting.
I have searched the forums and it seems that PVR2000 is not yet supported by GBPVR.
Will it be anytime in the future?
If anyone knows of software that works well with the PVR2000 please let me know.

Cheers.

Blank screen when watching Live TV
Posted by: ammon615 - 2006-04-05, 06:03 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (4)

I'm having issues when watching Live TV. When i select live tv, there is only a blank screen. the interesting thing is that a if a show records or is recording, i am able to watch the show just fine. i have recently installed a new DVD burner and have deleted several old programs associated with my old DVD burner. i try not to delete any .dll files located in the system folder, but could i have possibly deleted a shared file that is crucial to the live tv portion of gbpvr? i have not uninstalled and reinstalled gbpvr yet, but that would be my next step. any help would be appreciated. thanks!

I included a very basic troubleshooting guide and restructured it a bit.

zehd, feel free to dress it up better to match what you have been doing.

  No video signal detected
Posted by: movie_lover - 2006-04-05, 05:38 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (19)

Hi Sub,

I have just built my second PVR with GBPVR - I love it.

The problem is this:

I have a WinTV-NOVA-T card connected to my rooftop antenna. Live TV mode works fine at the first access from the menu.
However, if I try to change channel with the remote, mouse or keyboard, I get the "No video signal detected....." error message.
If I then go back to the main menu and re-select the "Live TV" mode, I get the channel with no problems at all.

I have looked at the "gbpvr.exe-native.log" and the signal strength is being recorded as zero. What's going on?

I have attached the above mentioned file for you to look at.

Ta in advance, movie_lover.

UK Terrestial + DVB + SKY - duplicate EPG channel question
Posted by: psychospiller - 2006-04-05, 04:19 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (5)

Hi,

Wonder if anyone can help out here, I think I read a post on this before but I just cant find it now, so sorry if this is out there already.

I have a PVR 500 in which I use the s-video input as a recording source for my SKY TV STB.
I also have the 2 separate tuners in the PVR 500 tuned for terrestrial BBC1, BBC2, ITV.... etc.
I also have a Nova-T that gets me the UK Freeview channels which also includes BBC1, BBC2... etc.

Using BBC1 purely as an example, I can receive BBC1 via Sky and also on the 2 terrestrial sources, and on the digital source (Nova-T). This might sound a little weird but I want to be able to control which source I use when recording BBC1. Actually I dont want to use the Sky source as a default but I may want to record from this occasionally. So I renamed the BBC1 channel on the SKY capture source to "BBC1 (Sky)". That gives me a new row in my TV Guide which is what I wanted, but is there anyway I can copy the EPG data from "BBC1" to "BBC1 (sky)" in GBPVR or do I have to edit my XMLTV data manually ?

Or does anyone have a better suggestion.

Thanks

  setup issues

Hi.

My ATI 9800 all-in-wonder is running in windows xp+sp2. I know that Beyond TV can find it but GB-PVR seems to think there is no capture card installed. I had it working before I reinstalled windows but now I can't remember what I did. If you know what to do, please, tell me!

Also, in the Before Time when I ran GB-PVR there was always a green bar at the bottom of the screen that would be partially covered when the HUD was being displayed. Is there a way to hide that green bar? Shouldn't it be gone by default?

Thanks!

SUB: Recording show in two pieces. Found bug(?)
Posted by: lif - 2006-04-05, 02:04 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (10)

This happened to my wife yesterday and she was at first very confused. So the senario:

Yesterday GBPVR was recording scheduled show. Accidentially I made a restart to gbpvr service during this. After a while she wanted to watch the recording from beginning, but to her (and mine) surprise GBPVR offered only watching from middle. So, what happened was this.

When recording a scheduled show from guide and somewhy restarting during recording gbpvr service. The recording service starts again/continues and if it founds recording with same name it adds -2 to name. Fine. But it also points in gbpvr.mdb recorded show to the last filename. So, actually there are all required mpg files for playing show from beginning to end, but when selecting from recordings it plays only the last file.

Solution should be: If recording service is started and it finds that it should start scheduled recording immediately and also find duplicate file name of recording show, before creating new one it should add current file to gbpvr.mdb and after finished recording the other file it should add also the second file to mdb to the same show. When playback of the show is requested, GBPVR should select all records with the same show recording name/id/etc and starts playback from the first file and continues also with next parts up to the end of last one. I hope it was clear Smile

Files required for MVP use with GBPVR
Posted by: Miller - 2006-04-05, 01:32 PM - Forum: MVP & NMT - Replies (12)

Ok, I've been reading and I feel like I've read the answer to my question a couple of months ago, but now I can't find it anywhere. Here's what I've done: I did a install for the first time of GBPVR on a P4. Setup GBPVR and configured it like I wanted. This computer is in my office. I hooked up a MediaMVP in my living room (Cat5e connection) and turned it on and everything worked great. I'm on a home network with a dedicated Linksys router (computer and MVP both plugged into same switch on router). I am using a pvr500 card for recording. So then I wanted to watch tv on my desktop without taking over the whole screen so I installed WinTV2000 so I could just have a little tv in the corner. Everything with the MVP still working fine. A couple of days later, I have to reboot my computer for the first time since installing everything and after that I haven't been able to get my MVP to connect to my computer. I have tried unpluggin it for 24 hours. It detects the ethernet connection, sometimes stalls out looking for MediaMVP BootServer, sometimes stalls out loading Application. I feel like I either have 2 things running when only one should be or something should be running that isn't. Any tips would be greatly appreciated.
