first of all: great piece of software. Well as far as i can say cause I have an annoying problems which I can't solve. Maybe you guys can help me seeing more then just the config-screen
I am using a PVR-150. After setting everything up and loading down the epg, I am not able to watch any channels on LIVETV. It looks like they have not been "installed". All I get is noise. Like the noise between channels.
I tried the Tuning Assistant and it worked. But without any influence on the config of course. How can I fix it?
Sorry if this is a double-post but I wasn't able to find any similar problem in this forum. Thanks for your help....
Has anyone tried the beta dongle.bin from Hauppauge? I tried it today and was encouraged at first as it seemed to make the MVP more responsive and more stable in video playback, until....
I tried to view LiveTV and it just reboots. Looking through the log I see:
Everything else works just fine, including playing back pre-recorded stuff.
I'm still in search of the Holy Grail of dongles - Sub, I'm afraid I've had to give up with yours, it frequently becomes unresponsive and seems to 'buffer' commands like pause, stop etc. where eventually it responds and tries to do everything at once and I have to reset the MVP
I have a problem that does not seem to have a solution. I am looking for help to see if anyone is successfully converting dvr-ms to mpg2 and running comskip in a similar environment.
I am using Fusion 5 Lite card for ATSC OTA (MPEG2 and AC3) reception. I am using dvr-ms mux to do the recordings (Cyberlink muxes create stutter, I have tried them all). When GBPVRConvert runs it stalls after about 70 MB and never finishes. I tried other tools (autodvrconvert, DVRMSToolbox) unsuccessfully. This happens with 720p and 1080i material.
I sent Sub a sample and he was able to reproduce the problem, but he said it is happening outside GBPVR and he has no visibility into that.
If this is working for you, or if you are using Cyberlink mux with no stutter, let me know.
I've just got a Hauppage MediaMVP yesterday. It's working with the Hauppage software but that software seems quite limited.
Unfortunately when I install GBPVR I get a config.exe crash immediately post install (not details are available) and everything else I attempt crashes as well. I've never seen a GBPVR UI as yet, even when I tried using it before I had the MediaMVP.
I can't seem to find a how-to set up GBPVR for an MVP amongst the Wiki or these forums. Am I missing something?
I am writing a script/bat file and I am trying to analyse a mpg file in 16:9 720x576 PAL and determine if it is source content is 16:9 format or 4:3 format with black bands down each side (for the unused portion of the frame).
I record using my Hauppauge HPV1300 (which I have configured as a Hauppauge Roslyn) and its fine on High and Medium Quality, but the Low quality only records the left half of the picture, which is an interesting and unique approach to compression, but not exactly desireable.
I have v0.96.12, and its pretty much standard config as I havent really done much tweaking.
I've been told that the MSI K8NGM2-FID is one of the best system board for a quiet and low power usage HTPC. Is anyone using this board? Are there any good boards out there that include everything I would need (eg S/P Dif, S-Video, built in VGA, Sound etc)?

I just experienced an error with accidental duplicates in the channels tab of the config tool. If you have duplicates your tv guide and livetv get messed up.
This could be easily prevented by doing a quick check for duplicates on the channels tab giving the user feedback. At the moment the program just quietly accepts everything you insert.
I have 96.12 GBPVR installed. How do I change multiplex filters? I went to the Misc tab and selected a different one, but I still am recording in DVR-MS format.
Also, Whenever I attempt to use the commercial cleanup tool, I either get mpeg2schnitt crashing or I get a file with jerky video and no sound.
I have recently just started using GB-PVR (using BlueMCEII) and I love it thank you Sub. Anyways I recorded around a 2.5 hour long show (movie) and it turns out that the file is 5.80 Gb since I recorded it in High Quality. So I'm like well thats not gonna work since its too big for a DVD so I "googled" MPEG compression and come across TMPG Enc Xpress 3.0 so I started up loaded up the MPEG file and it was AWSOME, with its quick video edits (cut out the little pre recording of the show and then the end where it actually stopped) then also had some really cool features such as Filters and one that I selected was Noise Reduction and made it look significantely better. So Im like sweet that was so easy and then I set that I want it to fit on a DVD-5 and how its gonna shrink to 4.7 Gbs then I hit Go (or start output or whatever)...................................................................25 hours later its finally done.
Is that normal? All I wanted was to shrink the MPEG file from 5.80 gbs to 4.7 to fit a DVD lol and it took 25 hours to do it. Is it suppose to take 25 hours to compress an mpeg like that? Or what other tools can I use to easily compress an MPEG?
