Just got the gbPVR setup with the Hauppage 150. Great product - very excited. Anyway here is my situation.
I would like to have one machine do all the recording and be able to playback to multiple units through the house. What is the best way to do this?
I haven't even bought a video card yet until I can figure out a way to accomplish this task. I am not looking for a free or even cheap solution necessarily -- so if anyone can let me know my options I would be appreciative.
I have a wireless network, but live in a ranch style house so running wires/cable would not be that bad either. Preferably, I would like the computer to be located downstairs, to reduce noise.
i am currently trying to skin xrecord for olbia. i know, a few things are hardcoded, but maybe someone knows how to solve following problems (look at the numbers in the attached image):
How can i move the whole list, wether icon mode or not, to the right?
How can i increase the gap between two elements (row-gap works)?
what does that box mean and where can i change the color?
then i probably found a bug: as you can see, there are 3 columns and 2 rows in the list. the maximum number of displayed elements is 6. when moving to the seventh element, the list doesn't scroll. you just cannot see the selection. the item-counter says 7/7.
i would really like to provide xrecord-support in the skin, since there are a couple of users, using this plugin and i know it is a good one. please help!
(Thought I'd post this in 'Documentation' as well.)
I've read several posts regarding Batch Files, and thought that I would add/update the wiki. But I have a few questions. (Yes this is a documentation thing, but a support question )
(Please read my HTML that I have attached and see if anything I have finished is inaccurate.)
I have seen 'transcode.bat', 'transcoding.bat' and 'transcode.cmd'
Which one is called by GBPVR and when? (Only with the Transcode button in 'Video Library', or other times as well?)
At what point is 'PostConvert.bat' called? And what might you do with it that 'PostProcessing.bat' would not handle?
Is 'PreProcessing.bat' really called? Aside from the Plextor users with Software processing, and the CPU priority issue, are there any other reasons one might use it?
Are there any other Batch files that are called by GBPVR through default (no extra skins or plugins) operation than I have culled from the wiki and forums and written in the attached HTML?

Well, Ive finally got this set up so it recognises my card, but when i try to go to live tv, i get audio from whatever channel im tuned to, and nothing but a black screen. If i try to tune to a station from the guide or tune to a recording (still dont know if the recording actually has video), it seems to hang at the screen b4 it should go to video, but there is still audio. The oddest part is that the tuning assistant has no problem displaying any video. My config file is included. Please let me kno if you need any other information or have any ideas. Thank you in advance.
P4 - 1.7 GHz, 512MB RDRAM, ATI Theater 550 pro, ATI 9600XT
With 0.96.8, using Sapphire ATI Theater 550 Pro, hitting PLAY on my MCE remote sometimes causes lockup with full Black screen saying TIMESHIFT MODE starting, please wait... It will stay like this forever and neither a keypress or CTRL ALT DEL seems to get me out. I must reset the computer. GBPRV is the only program this happens on. Seems to be only when entering Live TV from TV Guide or directly with PLAY button. It doesn't happen all the time, sometimes works properly. Live Preview is Unchecked in Config.
