Hey ..i was just looking at lineup for dish...and some channels are 4 digits..i remember reading that gbpvr doesnt support 4 digit channels... Any help?
I had been running GBPVR using my Hauppauge PVR 150 (Non-MCE) PCI card under Windows XP with no problems at all until about 3 months ago. I noticed that channels past 13 were completely fuzzy and not viewable. A few channels under 13 were this way also. I rebuilt my system and used the supplied drivers and GBPVR still had problems, as well as other types of PVR software. However, the WinTV 2000 software that comes with the PVR 150 works FINE. It shows all channels without any problems and records in good quality. I have used older drivers and the latest drivers for the PVR 150. I have taken off all splitters from my cable and still no reception past 13 under GBPVR, but it always works using the Hauppauge pvr WinTV software. Any settings I need to be adjusting? I am stumped and can't seem to find anyone else with my type of issues regarding this card and GBPVR in the forums or Google.
Thanks, reyals
Is there anyway to play these automatically within GBPVR? I have Daemon tools and yes I know how to manually mount and play and/or burn but I am looking for a more "automagic" solution.
I used to be able to play bin files directly in ZoomPlayer and Divx player, but ever since I reinstalled Windows I can no longer figure out how to even do that again.
Within the config utility there is settings for Daemon tools which I tried to adjust (not sure which device ID?). What is the setting supposed do exactly and how do I use it?
I'm still trying to make a video plugin work properly, and I've noticed one behavior I think is unintended.
According to DaveC in this thread, if a video plugin is running and the video stops, the Deactivate() method of the plugin will be called. I'm finding that's not the case, at least with v0.96.8.
If the plugin is running when a video (in my case a recording) ends, the Deactivate() method will not be called. The next time I watch a video, I find the plugin running as if nothing had happened. Also, if I run the plugin as a MenuTask, the Activate() method will not be called.
This is bad because once the video stops, needsToBeHidden is no longer called, and there's no way for the plugin to deactivate itself.
I assume that what DaveC describes is what's intended to happen, and it would certainly be more convenient for me if it worked that way.
...
Actually, having played with the API for some time, I'd like to suggest one simple improvement that would make a huge difference to me. Currently, GBPVR calls setVideoMode the first time a video is played and every time it is activated as an OSD, to let the plugin know that it's running as a video plugin. However, the same instance of the plugin may later be run as a MenuTask, and there's no straightforward way to know that it's no longer running as a video plugin. (You can put some logic in the Activate, setVideoMode and Deactivate methods, but it's a bit of a mess, especially because of the bug (?) mentioned above.) Besides, it can be useful for a plugin to know whether a video is playing even when it's inactive. (For the time being I'm testing whether needsToBeShown is being called regularly, but this is a bit of a hack.)
So, what I propose is to change setVideoMode() to setVideoMode(bool inVideoMode), and call setVideMode(true) every time a video starts playing, and setVideoMode(false) every time it stops playing.
So, if a video finishes while my video plugin is active, GPVR will call Deactivate() and then setVideoMode(false). That way, if a user runs it as a MenuTask later, it will know when it's activated that it's no longer an OSD, and adapt itself to that fact.
For the past THREE months I've been plagued by the speed up/return to normal frame mpeg speed occurance. I emailed hauppauge about this and they told me that I will have to return my card. The strange part about all of this is that I've seen the same phenomenon occur with my plextor m402u. I am suspicious of my volari v3 card's hardware video acceleration capabilities causing these problems as well. Also, this isn't related to GBpvr because the same error occurred in wintv2000. Is this an isolated incident?
What player do you all recommend running with GBPVR? I want to be sure and get the best quality player. Funny, I know a lot about building and configuring computers but nada about this video stuff
For those of us with dial-up for whom automatic EPG updating isn't an option, it would be nice to have a little pop-up reminder from the GB-PVR system tray icon that says something like "Time to update your EPG" every few days. I missed recording Lost this week and had to buy it from iTunes because I forgot to update my EPG.
I've downloaded and installed the BDA drivers for the Twinhan 102G DVB-S card, so now the GB-PVR recognizes it. I set up the card and satellite information in the "capture" tab under BDA recording plugin, and set the EPG to DVB EPG Broadcast. In the Misc. tab, I set the BDA multiplexer to Intervideo. I'm using XP pro with Direct X 9.0.
I thought that I finally had everything going, but when click on the "Map digital channels to EPG channels", I get an error message "Microsoft Demultiplexer does not seem to be available on your machine. Don't ignore this error. BDA support will not work without it." I thought the demultiplexer was already in the XP pro software.
When I click on the "update EPG" button I get an error message that flashes so qiuckly on and off that I can't read what it says.
This appears to be the last hurdle. I don't even know where to start on this one. Any ideas?
Don't know if I've done something wrong but I can only record on one tuner
(dual Nova-T 90002)
I had a good working setup with 95.16 but instead of upgrading to 96.8 I made a fresh install.
Both cards are setup correctly, device 1 & device 2, the epg is loaded in for both cards.
I set the first recording & the tray icon says its using the 2nd card. When I try a 2nd recording at the same time as the 1st I get the conflict message appearing.
