Hello
First off I am new to these forums and new to pvr setups. I have a couple of questions that I was wondering if someone here could lend some input on. I have a Hauppage pvr 150 retail pci card with remote along with GBPVR software and am trying to get the ir blaster to change the channel for timeshift recording.
The box that I have is the newer mpeg4 DirecTV model H20. I recently upgraded to the HD package from DirecTV. I have tried numerous times to configure the packaged ir blaster from Hauppage and the box will not respond to anything I seem to try. So
1. Will USB-UIRT solve this problem ?
2. What exactly would be correct placement position for the remote stick-on emitter. ( I have tried directly on top of the recieving eye and just above it so far)
Sorry if the questions don't make any sense but as I said I am new to this.
Thanks in advance.
Current setup: Hauppage 150 retail pci, GBPVR, DirecTV H20 Satellite reciever S - Video out along with line audio out.

a few guys seems to have the same problem then me:
i try to setup gbpvr with a digital bda-device (terratec cinergy 1200 dvb-c). watching tv works fine but i can´t use timeshift or records. i ALWAYS get a
mpg-file with 0kb-size...
here´s my config:
- windowsXP-sp2
- terratec cinergy 1200 dvb-c, bda-driver 4.7 (beta from terratec, but seems
to be the same as from knc1 "philips bda/dvb capture driver 4.7.0.0")
- gbpvr-version v0.96.8
- output muxchecker
Code:
GB-PVR has detected the following multiplex filters on your machine:
Found: InterVideo Multiplexer
FILE: C:\Programme\InterVideo\Common\bin\ivimux.ax
VERSION: 3.0.86.0
Found: CyberLink MPEG Muxer
FILE: C:\Programme\devnz\gbpvr\AutoDVRconvert v1.3\MpgMux.ax
VERSION: 5.0.0813
Found: ShowShifter MPEG PS Writer
FILE: C:\Programme\Home Media Networks Limited\ShowShifter\MpegWriter.ax
VERSION: 3.12.0.2945
If you're running WinXP SP1 or higher, you will also be able to use the built-in DVR-MS mux filter
i try all three multiplexer, but everytime i get 0kb-recordings (again - watching live-tv works fine) ......
Can u help me. I have some newbie questions regarding transcoding:
1) what muxer do I need to convert from DVR-MS to MPEG-2?
2) in attempting to set the transcode option on the PROCESSING tab, I am required to select a time. Is possible implement transcode such that it starts immediately after the recording has completed. If so, how?
3) how do I reduce the priority of the transcode activity so I can perform other tasks on my system. For example watch TV? How do I increase the priority assuming I am doing this whilst the machince would otherwise idle?
4) what is referred to as a "profile" and how do I edit it?
5) when do you need postprocessing.bat?
6) where do I find documentation/sample regarding postprocessing.bat.?
7) what is the purpose of the GBPVRconvert.exe and ffmpeg.exe.
8) I understand that mpeg-2 does not support ac-3. Is it therefore possible to transcode from DVR-MS (which includes AC-3) to MPEG-2 (with MPEG-2audio), and if so, what needs to be done to make this happen.
9) what level of debugging is available with transcoding and how do I enable it?
10) is there a log of transcoding operations including details such as names, start and finish time.
Sorry for the newbie questions, but I tried the forum and the wiki, but its like trying to keep score at a football match but being limited to viewing it through a keyhole.
As the title imply, I would like to setup my MCE Remote (the remote coming with the Theatrix) to access GBPVR only.
I am setting my PC so that my MainScreen is my monitor and my secondary display is my TV (on which GBPVR is running). I would like to be able to do anything on the primary screen (meaning having another application other than GBPVR having the focus) while somebody else is using GBPVR on the secondary screen controlling it with the remote. Is it possible (without the Hauppauge Remote)?
I just installed my FusionHDTV5 Lite and put on the newest drivers and software from their website Version 3.30.01. Everything works great with their software
Then I installed GBPVR v0.96.8
In the configuration, I changed nothing but the Capture sources.
Recording source is BDA Recording plugin with HDTV5 Lite as device type and device number is 1
I use Zap2it and i got a working account on it. I say update EPG and it populates my channels and everything seems to be working fine
but then i run GBPVR and i get this error when i try to watch TV or record
"No channels have been set up. Please run the Configureation utility and setup the EPG source. Use the "Update EPG" button to force the system to import the lastest set of channel and programme information."
i rerun the config and click on "enable" on all the channels. no dice
the mux checker states i have no muxer installed. i figure i need to fix this at some point but this should not keep me from just watching live tv right?
I'm curious how gbpvr decides what capture source to use when it has two to pick from, because it seems to be working exactly opposite of what I thought it might do.
I have two devices setup, device 1 a PVR-150 with coax input, channel 1-100, device 2 a PVR-250 using composite input connected to a STB, channel 1-500. As you can see, both devices can record channels 1-100.
When a single scheduled recording comes up to be recorded on channels 1-100, I'm finding the system always defaults to the PVR-250. This surprised me because I thought for sure it'd choose the device w/the smallest channel lineup to do the recording, leaving the device w/the most channels free in case I should decide to watch or record a channel in the 101-500 range. As it is now, if a recording starts on channel 5, the 250 and STB get occupied with the recording and I can't watch Live TV unless its in the lower 100 channels. If gbpvr chose the pvr150 for the recording, it'd still be able to watch or record anything else I wanted since I'd still have my full channel lineup.
So is my system working this way by design?
Btw, the system coordinates things fine with 2 scheduled recordings.
