Is anyone using the MCE 2005 IR blaster plugin to control an external tuner? I selected it and was able to teach it my remote commands but GB-PVR doesn't seem to fire the blaster when changing channels. I used MceIrPlay to test the files and they work OK with it (the HIP files do too, BTW) so I'm pretty sure they're OK. I have it working with HIP but if the GB-PVR plugin would work I'd prefer to use it...just one less thing to run. I assume that selecting it in the approproate capture source and teaching it is sufficient...perhaps there's something else that needs to be set? Anyway, just wondering if anyone is using it...

I just updated Yahoo Music Engine and it now has network sharing (PC to PC)as well as network devices that it can work with. They mention 3 devices that can share music with a host PC, one is a D-Link device. Anybody know if there could be a way to get it to work with MediaMVP?
Hiya, caould I ask for a small change to the WIKI explanation, so that folks (like me) know to put the exe file IN the GBPVR directory
Current:
Quote:RenameRecording is simple utility app, that is added to the PostProcessing.bat file. It will take in the full path name for the recording that just finished, and look it up in the program guide. If a subtitle exists for the recording, the file will be renamed to the Sub Title name. The GBPVR database will also be changed to reflect the new name.
Suggested:
Quote:RenameRecording is a simple utility app, that should be placed in the gbpvr root directory (normally C:\Program Files\devnz\gbpvr\). A line should be added to the PostProcessing.bat file to run the program automatically upon completion of a recording. The utility will recognize the full path name of the recording that just finished, and look it up in the program guide. If a subtitle exists for that recording, the file will be renamed to the Subtitle name. The GBPVR database will also be changed to reflect the new name.
Just wanted to emphasize how important it is to reboot after installing 96.8. I upgraded and failed to follow the directions - and subsequently failed to record my evenings worth of programming! While all my recordings still showed as scheduled, they would start recording, fail, and nothing would be recorded. While troubleshooting this, I realized that I got booted out of live tv after 30 seconds. One simple reboot, and everything was back to normal!
Just hoping to save some other unfortunate souls from experiencing these same frustrations.
Not sure if I am the only one but I'm having a strange problem where if I play a DVD, hit the menu button on my remote (which takes me back to the main menu ), and then select DVD again, I get audio but no video. I'm using the Cyberlink Audio and Video decoders.
Also, and this may not be a bug, none of my remote control buttons seem to be associated to DVD functions (i.e. pressing Menu doesn't bring me to the DVD menu, Skip doesn't skip through the DVD promos, etc.) Is this normal?
I configured my firefly remote in the past to run Itunes because the visualizations were a pretty big hit at my dorm parties and now I'm going to switch over to GB-PVR as my main music player because you added visualizations. Itunes would display the song, album, and artist on the screen I was wondering if this would be possible using the ID3 tags. I realize this is a weird thing to ask buts its kinda nice when people don't ask you who sings that song at your party.
Is there a way to get bleep bloop to work using the hauppauge 45key remote with the Usb-uirt, It used to work fine using the pvr350 Ir cable, but now I just have the usbuirt and no more sounds....the sounds work when I press the arrow keys but not with the remote......
I'm looking for comclean.exe.
Unfortunately the zipfile in the wiki is corrupt and the website of erik at http://mk.kaashoek.com/comskip/files/ is sort of empty. I don't get errors, but there is absolutely no content...
Can someone please upload a working zip to the wiki?
Hi since the new upgrade (I do like it(the features not the freezing)) I have a tendency to freeze up particularly when I'm skipping and the only way out is CTRL ALT DELETE and ending gb-pvr on a bright note it doesn't seem to effect the recording it's just the movie hangs, happens alot sometimes out of the blue but seems to happen more when I'm skipping around avioding commercials. Okies would post the logs but I dun have a clue how, and I dunno what logs and where (I build computers and fix em, but to windows and programs :o I only got one solution (reinstall LOL) tell me where I can find the logs and I'll send em. Bet you I can reproduce this flaw like in ten to 15 minutes if I know what logs I'm looking for

I just reinstalled the drivers for my 350 and nova-t usb2 as I am still having loads of problems getting the nova to work correctly when coming out of standby.
I used to have a custom bleb-channels.xml with the station names customised to BBC ONE instead of BBC 1 and ITV1 instead of "ITV 1" in order to make the dvb channel names match my existing 350 channel names.
96.8 installed a new bleb-channels file,, so when I re-added devices in the config and updated the EPG, the new channel names were not the same as the old ones. Now I had BBC 1 instead of BBC ONE. I couldn't be arsed to re-do them all by hand or re-create the bleb xml files so I though I would see how I got on when i fired up gbpvr, although I did suspect that something might go amis....
What I found was that the menus were VERY unresponsive. If I selected a recording, I would wait over 30 secs for the action menu to appear. Curiously, pressing an up/down key during the delay would force an immediate response.
I suspected that gbpvr was confused about why it had recordings with channels names that didn;t match up to the existing list.
Solution:
1. export recordings
2. perform a find/replace in xml file to replace old channel names with new ones.
3. rename recordings folder
4. start gbpvr
5. gbpvr failes to find recordings and so deletes them from the database.
6/ run config and save in order to compact database (just in case)
7. rename recording folder back to what it was before <-- important!
8. import recordings from updated xml file.
response of menus returned to normal.
I just thought that I would share this with you in case any of you are suffering from slow menu responses and the scenerio that I describe above might ring a bell for you.
