When I set the program to record shows, it will create the file but then doesn't record the show. It doesn't record anything. If I am watching Live TV and want to fast forward and rewind, there is no problem and I can record the program with no problem. Any idea what could be causing this?
I Have Two TV Tuner cards 1) DUAL Hauppauge 500 w/FM
2) MSI Theather 550 w/FM
I would like to be able to view my VCR tapes in BG-PVR but they is no setting for comp_out or S_video out. Is this a hard thing to do and Yes i know i can set my VCR to playback if i use the tv cable but it's easyer fo me this way. Right know I have to view my vcr tape by running a different app that will let me set it to composite for the source.
OPTERON DUAL 240

I was trying to set up the GB-PVR software, and when I got to "create a capture source" and "BDA device configuration" it would not detect my Twinhan 102G satellite card when I checked the "only show devices detected on this machine" option. I got a message "no known cards in this machine.
I see that Twinhan DVB-S cards are shown in the list. Is it the 102G specifically that it won't detect? Did I miss a step somewhere. Other programs like MyTheatre and ProgDVB work fine.
it would be nice if there was a plugin that could somehow scan archive.org's live music archive and display a list of bands shows that are available with a playlist in m3u format, or even mp3 download. i realize this probably will never happen but it would be AWESOME!
I'm about a week off from putting together my gbpvr and was wondering where support for the Maui-III was currently at.
I noticed on the new Detail Capture Card wiki page it lists the Maui-III with question marks next to it. Has intigration of the Maui-III been successful?
Hi there,
First post after a couple of days lurking the forum.
Unfortunately I didn't find an answer to my questions, so here goes nothing.
I'd like to make an HTPC to put in the living room that would do all-in-one, that is, Sat TV receiver with maybe an Hauppauge Nova-S pci, DVD player, VCR, etc.
For that I thought about buying me a mini Epia mobo, with 512MB RAM, 120GB HDD and the afore mentioned Nova-S.
But I've been giving it some more thought about it and I don't know if a 1Ghz Epia has the necessary muscle to play live TV while recording in high quality.
Some friends told me that I would need to buy a Hauppauge PVR-250 with a hardware MPEG2 encoder/decoder.
But doesn't the Nova-S come with a hardware MPEG2 encoder/decoder, too.
Or in case of the Nova-S it's just a decoder and the Epia CPU does all the remaining tasks?
If my last assumption is correct, then I would need to go for a real PC with more than one PCI slot to accomodate the PVR-250 and the Nova-S, right?
One last question: has anyone ever tried to boot XP+gbpvr from a CF card?
TIA
Cheers
Just to let people feeding GBPVR with Sky in the U.K. that Sky have updated the channel numbers. As far as I can tell, the channels that have changed are between ITV4 (120) and Sky Movies (301) and between Discovery (520) and UKTV People + 1 (541).
