I am pretty sure this is not a new subject but I can't find it, so I apologise forehand.
I have a show scheduled for daily recording. What happened is: The epg-info for that program changed a little (10 min later), now I have two shows scheduled, from which one gives an error (the later one, obvious). It seems that emptying the epg doesn't help because the gbpvr database seems to keep the old info from the season-schedule. When I cancel the season-recording, empty epg, update epg, season-schedule again, things are fine again.
Is this normal, am I missing something?
Thank you! This is an awesome project and I know a ton of work has gone into it.
I am new to gbpvr and this is my first install (I love it)
This is my first post to the forum, so be please be gentle...
I accomplished with gbpvr in less than 4 hours, what I couldn't with mythtv after several days... and I am a unix guy... there I said it! Again, great job to all who have contributed to this project!
The build went great and worked perfectly right from the start with no plugins... then I started adding things, tweaking things, and eventually broke the whole thing. :o
OK, so here is the deal.
After adding the My Videos plugin (and all the related software), everytime I stop playing a video gbpvr.exe crashes.
After downloading and running from the command line the RenameRecording utility, I can no longer access any recorded shows.
So here are my questions:
Should I try to work through these issues or start a fresh?
If I do start again, what is the best way to clear out all the previous work, short of reinstalling Windows?
Finally, I would like to play with comskip, but every link points to the same site (http://mk.kaashoek.com/comskip/) which doesn't seem to be up... can someone point me to a working link?
Does this combination work? So, I don't like (yet) MS-MCE and running regular XP Pro. If I purchase Hauppauge HVR-1300MCE, does it work with my OS and GBPVR? I know that PVR-150 and PVR-150MCE has difference in FM presence, but whats difference between HVR-1300 and HVR-1300MCE (despite the remote)? Any significant difference?
No problems with previous version. But after recording/movie reaches to the last frame, it stops on that and keeps showing only the last frame forever. back/exit or menu or escape doesn't work. Any help?
i've installed gbpvr yesterday and generally everything works out fine except a problem with scheduled recording out of the standby-mode.
I scheduled a recording and sent the computer to the standby-mode (S3 Standby). But the scheduled time expires without waking the computer up and start recording. #
Otherwise it is possible to wake the computer up by touching the mouse for example. I installed a tool called "sleeper" (http://www.passmark.com/products/sleeper.htm) and sent the PC into S3-standby-mode for 60 seconds. After those 60 seconds the sleeper-tool woke my pc out of standby-mode. So generally it wake-up out of S3 seems working, but not with gbpvr.
Do you have any tips, what else i could try? I don't want to use the S1 mode.
Upgraded from previous version. Going into System menu, the menu works, but nothing is displayed in the right black box. Is it ok? Guess not. :-( So, what's wrong?
Live-TV buffering path is set to \\192.168.0.102\d$\PVR\Live
Directory exists.
Going into Live TV, pressing rec button. GBPVR switches into timeshifting mode.
Pressed Stop button after a few sec. GBPVR puts recording info into Recordings table - so, everything seems to be ok.
From Recordings view, select Delete recording. After that GBPVR gives blue window with error "Error: Recording Deleted.".
When going into Live TV and pressing REC button crashes GBPVR.
So, GBPVR thinks that this recording is regular one and if it is wanted to be deleted, and there is enabled function in config to remove with dir, it deletes recording (also file) and also deletes recording directory, which in this case happened to be Live TV buffer directory.
So, after recording from Live TV, GBPVR should move recording to recordings directory and then commiting it to database then everything should work.
I've found a method to switch from the GBPVR interface to the original MVP inferface...and back to the GBPVR interface. Certainly GBPVR has much more features than the MVP soft, but playback of avi & divx is much handier on the MVP soft.. . And reading through the forum I noticed quite a few other people would like this trick. So here it comes:
1. in GBPVR, add custom task (batch file or vbscript) that
-> starts the mvp services (C:\Program Files\Hauppauge MediaMVP\Hardware\Start.bat)
-> waits for a while, to allow the services to be started (i need 3 secs on my machine)
-> kills the gbpvr process
==> the MVP will go to 'contacting servers' and then the MVP interface will load.
2. In MVP Software, in C:\Program Files\Hauppauge MediaMVP\media.html add some code that
-> exits the mvpsoft
-> stops the other mediamvp processes by calling C:\Program Files\Hauppauge MediaMVP\Hardware\stop.bat
==> the MVP will go to 'contacting servers' again and then the GBPVR starts again. (this assumes you use the autostart servers setting)
To do the above, you will need a few small tools:
- to kill a process: process.exe (http://www.beyondlogic.org/solutions/pro...ssutil.htm)
- to run a batch file from explorer: Launch-in-IE (http://www.whirlywiryweb.com/q/launchinie.asp)
This one can be tricky, in a registry settings you need to add the url for each page that you want to run code from. The page that is run from the mvp is C:\Program Files\Hauppauge MediaMVP\Users\xx-xx-xx-xx-xx-xx\media.html (the x's represent the mac adress from the mvp I guess)
And this is the code I changed in the C:\Program Files\Hauppauge MediaMVP\media.html :
(I chose to put this function under the 'Radio' button, but it could be any, or even an extra button)
...
else if (keyCode == 13) //(BACK-Bks-8) or (OK-enter-13) ==> close picture mode
{
if(nModeActive == 1)
{
location.href=screenVideos;
}
else if (nModeActive ==2)
{
location.href=screenPictures;
}
else if (nModeActive ==3)
{
location.href=screenMusic;
}
else if (nModeActive ==4)
{
//var myLauncher = new ActiveXObject("LaunchinIE.Launch");
//alert(myLauncher.location);
// THIS LINES CALL A BATCH FILL THAT STOP THE MVPSTART Service
var strCmdLine = "C:\\Program Files\\Hauppauge MediaMVP\\Hardware\\stop.bat";
var obj = new ActiveXObject("LaunchinIE.Launch");
obj.LaunchApplication(strCmdLine);
// THIS LINE IS ENOUGH TO EXIT MVP
location.href = 'HCCOMMANDCALL:EXIT'
}
else if (nModeActive ==5)
{
location.href=screenSettings;
}
Since upgrading my OS to XP MCE 2005 VMR9 and VMR7 no longer have OSD support? Also F7 doesn't work with them. VMR9 custon works fine though. Any ideas why this is? Whats the differnce between VM9 and custom anyway? I'm using Intervideo Codec by the way and it worked fine when had XP Pro with same setup!
