I use PVR-150MCE (No FM tuner version) and use the standard TV tuner to record channels. The video is flawless, however the audio, on SOME channels, seems jerky sometimes, I futher looked in the problem, and I noticed that those channels seem to broadcast at a higher volume, and whent the volume reaches up to a certain level, the card 'mutes it' momentarily. It records this way too. It is obvious when watching a sitcom when the audience laugh, but barely noticeable during the normal dialog.

ANyone faced this problem? Could it be a driver issue?

I use the Cyberlink remote, but I noticed two things:
1- The right and left keys do not work while browsing the miniguide, they work well otherwise
2- There are A LOT of keys on that remote, and I am sure I am missing something. Is there somewhere I can find the key mapping for the remote?

What additional info does zaptools get?

zap2it has been asking for help, and they said the cast/crew data is 26% of their bandwidth. Is that default, or part of zaptools? Is there more beyond that?

If there is more, and it's info I do use, I'm wondering if zaptools could be reconfiged to let you 1/0 what additional info you do want to get.

I just want to make things as easy for them as we can, before they go to a pay mode or make other cuts.

I've installed GB-PVR on a recently built machine, and firstly I'd like to say what a splendid peice of software it is.

However, I have a problem. Although the machine's a reasonable spec, the recording that's played back (or viewed in timeshift mode) seems to slow every couple of seconds or so. This affects the audio and the video. It's almost as if, it's stretching a 25fps video to 28fps.

The card I use is a Hauppage DVB NOVA-T. I don't experience this with the bundled TV2000 software, just GB-PVR. It's fine when playing DVD's too.

I tried altering the DVB-mux thingy to use Intervideo (as I have WinDVD on the box) and if anything, it's slightly worse.

I disabled Norton AV to no avail.

Anyone have any ideas?

I'm looking at building a PVR to replace my Tivo (UK, so a Series1 ) and after reading lots of pages I think that GB PVR will be the software I will use. I have alot of the components already in my present PC and my main hardware would be the following:

P4 2.8ghz
1gb DDR 2700
200gb HDD
Nova-T DVB Tv Card
and...
Asus P4RD1-MX motherboard

The case I'm looking at will only allow 1 PCI/AGP card and obviously this would be used by the Nova-T TV card, hence the motherboard has onboard VGA and sound. The onboard VGA uses Radeon X300 (DX9 support). I've done loads of searches via google but cannot find any reviews of this motherboard

My main question is would this setup be sufficent to record in the background and still use the PC for internet surfing and downloading at the same time without causing the video to be jerky or suffer pops in the sound etc :confused:

Any thoughts, ideas or suggestions gratefully received

Every once in a while I will be watching TV and it will stop as if a new recording is starting. If I try to watch Live TV, it says there aren't any tuners available, but it only lists one tuner. I have two tuners. Anyone know why this would happen? I haven't figured out if there is something common that happens when this occurs.

i record a show and it shows up in XRECORD (i use this becuse it shows pics)
then a few days later on i look and next to the recording it says "failed" although it still shows up in my recordings folder

If i were to add a pvr 150 to accomodate my pvr 250 would i still be able to use the pvr 250 remote? Or would i have to use the pvr 150 remote for its self..

Anyone encounter this problem? First run of config.exe generates the exception below.

have confirmed that NativeUtilities.dll is in the gbpvr directory.

I've had a spare system lying around (Athlon XP 2400+, 512 RAM, FX5200, 80gig), and was considering setting it up as a potential dedicated DVR.

While I have a Hauppauge PVR-150 in my "work" system, and a Sapphire Theatrix 550Pro in my current MCE box, the only tv tuner card I have to spare is an ASUS TV FM 7133.

I used the ASUS card for quite a while, along with WinDVR 3, before I picked up the Hauppauge, and found it adequate for my needs at the time.

My question is, will GB-PVR function with this card?

If not, is there any software (preferably free) that would function similar to GB-PVR that anyone can recommend?
