When I reboot my machine, I can no longer get audio in Live Tv nor in recordings.
I can reenable the audio by opening up a recorder program called IUVCR and selecting the audio recorder for the Hauppauge WinTV.
It works fine then also on GBPVR, even going in and out of standby,
except when I restart I have to do the whole procedure again.
I've looked at simular settings in GBPVR's config but could not find it.
Is there something else I need to be looking at to fix this ?
I'm running the latest GBPVR release, WinXPSP2, PVR 150MCE
Hello. I'm new to GB-PVR, so hopefully this is not a dumb question. I searched the forum to the best of my ability before posting.
I'm trying to play ISO files and DVD's in GB-PVR. I have Daemon tools installed and PowerDVD. My problem is that when I select an ISO file, it is mounted in daemon tools (no problem), but then my PowerDVD software is launched. So it seems like GB-PVR and PowerDVD are both trying to play the virtual dvd.
I'm not sure if this is how GB-PVR works. Is it supposed to launch PowerDVD to play the mounted image or is it supposed to play it right from the GB-PVR software? If so, is there something I need to do in the config menu to disable the launching of PowerDVD so that only GB-PVR handles the playback? I tried looking at the powerdvd options and disabling 'Play automatically upon inserting disc'. I thought that might be the problem, but it doesn't seem to make a difference.
Sorry if my question has been answered already. I searched the forum and couldn't find it. I have GBPVR installed on a very old and slow PC (350mhz) with a WinTV 250 and an xcard. This pc is soley dedicated to GBPVR. I am also running a version of GBPVR that is probably a year old (My pc was too slow for the new versions to work). I use this PVR for recording only (I don't pause live tv, etc.).
Anyway, I have been using GBPVR for quite awhile using analog cable. No problems there but today I just got Directv installed. I ordered an extra Directv receiver so that I can have 1 dedicated to the PVR (GBPVR) and so that I can watch one channel while recording another.
My problem is this, my PVR and my main tv are in the same room. Apparently I cannot split the signal from the wall jack (like I did with cable) and have one wire going to the main directv receiver and another going to the PVR directv receiver. I tried this and was not able to get all the channels for both receivers. Does anyone know if there is such a splitter that will work with directv?
The options I know of for me are:
1-Connect the PVR receiver to another wall jack. This will require drilling a hole in the wall if I want to keep my PVR in the same room as the main tv. I prefer not to drill any holes in the wall.
2-Move my hauppauge 250 card and dedicated Directv receiver to another (faster)pc in another room where I have an open wall jack and then stream the captured video to the original PVR pc. This may be my best option but I'm afraid that the slow pc will freeze up if I do this.
Does anyone have any thoughts on what I can do?
Does such a thing as a satellite splitterthat will work with directv exist?
Is there a streaming client that can offer a filehandle (frameserve) of its output to a transcoding mechanism (like ffdshow or virtualdub)?
could this be a way to get realtime internet streaming video working for the MVP? Currently, one can use net-transport or other recording streaming client to grab a stream but have to wait for entire file to download to transcode...i.e. no on-the-fly transcoding of the download.
If tools offer commandline options, could not such a technique possibly piggyback off of transcoding.bat mechanism with clever filenames to point to web streams?
I changed the configuration a couple of nights ago to convert my recordings to AVI's. I didn't take the time to see what the system requirements were before I did this, and apparently my pc is too weak to transcode them for the mvp (stupid thing 1). I also selected that the original mpg's be deleted after the conversion (stupid thing 2). Does anyone know of a good program that can convert the avi's back to mpg's so I can watch them through gbpvr? I downloaded AVI to MPEG Converter, but it gives me an "Invalid Floating Point Operation" exception when I try to convert. Any help for Stupid would be great. Thanks
Ok, first of all i DO have .NET Framework 1.1.4322 installed.
I installed GBPVR and at the end of it, after i clicked on "FINISH", an error box appeared saying Security Exception : Requested registry access is not allowed.
Now everytime i try and load config.exe, i get this box but i can continue which brings up the config GUI. If i click on "OK", in the GUI, i get a different error box saying Unhandled Exception etc etc... System.ArgumentOutOfRangeException: Specified argument was out of the range of valid values.
I have tried uninstalling GBPVR (deleting program files folder), restarting and reinstalling. I tried uninstalling and reinstalling .net framework 1.1 and also installing 2.0.
I am the admin of the computer. I havn't set any registry restrictions.(Not that i know what that is)
When i try to load GBPVR.exe, nothing happens.
Also, i have downloaded and installed this program before (Before i got my PVR 350. Just to check it out) and it worked fine.
So i'm out of ideas.

I wish to appologize in advance for this very newb question. I recently set up my own pvr machine using a PVR-350 and i LOVE it. However, i currently am not set up for HDTV (No hd tv or service set up as of yet... i probably will in the future)..
My question is, what HDTV / win-tv card can i purchase that will work with GBpvr?
Is it possible to run Comskip (Yes, because I have done it) in stand-a-lone mode. In other words, after Comskip runs and generates the files, can you run Comclean to actually delete the commercials identified by Comskip and create the "clean" video file??
Since Comclean needs both the video file and the .txt files generated by Comskip, how can I make this happen. Can they be combined into a directory, and then "dropped" on Comclean?
I've got a Retail non-MCE Happauge PVR2 USB2 card that isn't detected by GB-PVR. Not even the Hauppauge's website drivers detect this device. The only drivers that work were the 3.0 Hauppauge CD that came with the device. The CD's installation menu calls it the PVR2 USB2+.
Is there anyway to force GB-PVR to use this device? GB-PVR tells me that the device is not detected or the drivers are not properly installed. Thanks.
