Ive added a page to the Wiki detailing various bits and bobs to do with getting HIP to work with GBPVR, and do the channel-changing with HIPSend.
Intended for people trying to use HIPSend, define their own buttons on the MCE remote or who finds they have got a variation of the MCE remote which doesnt quite match with GBPVRs inbuilt support. The method for teaching hip keystrokes is farily generic too i think so could be helpfull regradless of the remote your using.
Its a bit centric to my setup but i hope it gives anyone setting out with hip a step or two up the steep learning curve.
I'm using a Nova-T in the UK and I'm guessing that as I get different filesizes per hour from various channels that the broadcast bitrate is somehow used when recording, i.e BBC1 seems to be about 2Gb an hour & E4 about 1GB an hour.
Is there a way to process the files that I want to keep to a lower bitrate but maintain mpeg2 format (for MVP) ?
Just a little newby question.
Can i force pbpvr to use a selfconstructed graph (with graphedit) ? Where would i have to save such a file?
Other programs like progdvb and mytheatre have this. If it doesn't exist would it be a good idea to have this in the future?
Just seeing if anyone has had this before/knows why a PVR150 IR-Blaster simply wouldn't work. I have two cards - a Twinhan DVB-S one, and a PVR150, which uses it's attached IR-Blaster to change channels on the cable box to which it is attached. A program was recorded with the PVR150 at 5.54, and everything worked appropriately:

However a couple of hours later, a program was recorded with the DVB source correctly, but a subsequent PVR150 program simply didn't change the channel, so recorded on the wrong one:

I have restarted the recording service, and the channel changer appears to be working correctly at the moment, but then again, it was working OK earlier today as well.
Any ideas what the "UIR_GotoChannel() failed: 1" message means? (apart from the obvious that is) or is there some way to force GB-PVR to retry changing the channel if it doesn't work the first time?
Firstly let me say - I love this program. I have tried Meedio TV, SageTV, and BeyondTV. And while each of the programs listed have a few features that I would love to see in GB-PVR - not one of them was able to fully support my setup - that is except for GB-PVR. Great work SUB Thanks!!!!!
Now for a peski little problem that I would love to resolve.
I am using Meedio for my front-end and music managemt (amongst other functions) and GB-PVR for the PVR / Live TV Function.
For some reason - when a scheduled recording commences recording and I have a music file playing in Meedio - I get distortion that lasts for about 1.5 seconds and then the music returns to normal. I would love to work this out as this is the last peski problem I have (well at least until the next one pops up )

For those interested - the setup that I could only get working with GB-PVR is as follows
XP Home SP2
PVR500MCE
- Tuner 1 = Free To Air Braodcast
- Tuner 2 = STB_1 Cable TV Source 1
- S-Video Tuner 1 = STB_2 Cable TV Source 2
External TV Changer = GlobalCache through Girder for both externa
While each of the other packages had some really cool features - or looked superb - none of them allowed me to setup the above configuration.
So PROPS to SUB. Love this program. And to top it all off the Price Point was perfect for the wife not to get upset with me trying this solution.
Anything in these logs to show why my live tv playback would be really stuttery after being up a couple of days, and i can see it trying to change channel but doesn't seem to happen.
Also seems to miss the odd recording lately.
I can get in via remote control and bring up task manager and the GBPVR task is on 90% - memory is ok
This will problably sort itself out with a reboot. Even removing all plugins and restarting GBPVR (not the machine) results in the same
So I've been using GB-PVR for the last month or so. Output has been great. (I bought the WINTV-MCE-500 and the NVIDA decoders.)
Last week my recordings has some stutters in them, but since I was playing some computer games at the time, I thought that was it. (Enemy Territory if your wondering which one)
Anyways, the Stutter was with Video only. Audio was fine. It was like the Video would pause, then go really fast to catch up, or just skip to the right frame. It would only pause for a second or two. It would stutter several times a minute.
So today I watch LiveTV (in preview Mode) The Stutter was there as well! Crap! Now I've got a problem.
So I read a bunch of the articles. I've read about the quartz.dll. I haven't done that yet.
I've read that the selection of the decoders has alot to do with this. I verify that my NVIDA decoder is selected in all pertinent screens.
I open up lastgraph in the GBPVR directory.
It says it's using the Intervideo Video Decoder. Surprise!
So how do I change this?
BTW, I have no idea if this is the actual problem, since I haven't looked at the last graph before, since everything worked perfect.

I noticed that whenever the Stutter happened, the Jitter Counter would go up.
Here is the problems I'm having. If I use the search tool I notice that the program I want isn't listed in the search tool, but is listed in the TV GUIDE section. The second thing I have noticed is that I make a slection of a show I want to record. I go through the steps of selecting that I want all episodes on this channel and hit record and everything appears ok, except that if I have another show recording at the same time slot one of the shows is in the pending list the other is not. In addition, one show will be highlighted in red and the other will not in the tv guide section. I have two capture cards and they are correctly idendified in the config program. Can anyone help me solve these problems? I have an MVP and see the same things there as well.
I noticed that my video was a little choppy lately, so I decided to restart my system. I closed GBPVR and noticed that there were some Windows updates that had downloaded, so I thought those might have caused the choppy video. I decided to install them, then restart the system. I checked the task manager and I had 183 processes running!!! Most of them were SRDriver.exe. Has anyone ever encountered this or heard of this. No results came up through Google when I searched for information on this process.
