I bought a MVP few days ago and then download GBPVr soft. I done some testings with original Hauppauge soft in order to check my MVP was working fine.
After that I stopped MVP services and performed some tests with GBPVR in PC mode (not in MVP server). GBPVR works fine (LIVETV, DIVX videos, mp3s, slideshow).
Then I start test with MVP. All seems OK except LIVETV. When I select LIVETV on MVP, TV screen becomes black and few seconds after MVP Hauppauge screen is displayed with a connection in progress message. It seems MVP had been disconnected.

Here is the GBPVR log and a screen copy of GB conf.

I hope somebody could help me to find what is wrong (settings, lack of codec,...).

I have a question regarding comskip. I have set up the comskip.ini file to my best knowledge.
After running a file through comskip it creates a .log, a .txt and .csv file.
If I look in the .txt file it shows three commercial blocks, one is missing. But when i drop the .csv file into the comskip shortcup I can see four commercial blocks which seems to be ok. And when I check the .txt file created now it contains the four blocks.
My question is why only three blocks the first time I run the mpeg file on the comskip program but four blocks after running the .csv file.
Same ini file both times. Is there any difference in handling?

Really easy one this, is there a software version of the MVP, in theory this should be really easy as these boxes are so simple, only have an MPEG2 decoder.

Something i can run on a PC, maybe a little setup to tell it where to look for the MVP server then it pulls all the data from the server like the MVP hardware units.

Having searched through all the associated "SHS", "AVSFORUM", "HTPC" etc.
forums for an answer, I thought I would ask here.

I have a PVR-150 which has a serious "white balance" issue, initially I thought it might be a codec, video card, cable, bit rate - tried them all no change.

I have read that an older version of the Hauppauge driver (sorry I'm not able to give my specific driver #, at work typing this on an IMAC). anyway I saw someone had changed drivers and the results were astounding.

I'm not sure how many GBPVR users are running PVR-150's, quit a few I would guess, has anyone had this "white balance" (also slightly blurry/fuzzy)
picture issue?? If so - what did you do to correct it??

The Hauppauge line of PVR cards appears to be the defacto standard for PVR's here in USA - anyone using something else with GBPVR??

I have the msi 550pro running on xp pro service pack 2. The remote doesnt work fully the way i want it to even using hip. I also use a logitech Lx 700 ir keyboard. nothing i've tried seems to work fully with the msi remote.

all I want to do is run gbpvr on the computer Im not planning on intergrading it into my home system. The computer is for my daughter at school.

Will just a standard microsoft mce remote work or should I be looking at a different remote and which one?

Well, the movers are coming monday, so I'm packing this weekend, and flying next thursday...
I'll be away for a couple months at least, until I get set up properly overseas.

Now that my PC is on *alot* watching and recording, the fan noise was getting to me (WAF :p ). I found this freeware utility to control fan speeds based on system temperatures. Seems to work very well if your MB supports it.

Sorry if this has been covered before - 1 week newbie here and haven't found the answer.

I have a PVR-150 setup in this way - device tuner1 - source is Internal tuner
this is for basic cable channels 2-69

second source (same capture card) source is composite,external tuner - for all my digital channels.

everything works fine except I notice that several channels 9,14,15,16,17,18,20,22,26,27,33,36,40,42,44,47,48,50,54,57,58,65 do not show up in order in the guide but rather they show up after the last digital channel 407 , and there is no info beside the channel number.

2 questions.
1.Is this a problem with zap2it?
2. DO I have to uncheck the the digital channels when configuring the tuner channels in the config and vise versa uncheck the basic channels in the composite,external tuner ? How does GBPVR know when to use the internal tuner and when to look at the composite in when tuning a channel?

First, gotta say, gb pvr has blown away mythtv, not just because its easier to set up, but it works. Ok enough butt kissin

only one problem so far:

my widescreen format movies (the only ones i have) are only showing up full screen or stretched. Does anyone know of a fix?

The title kinda says it all. Is it possible?

I work for a residential school where the staff all have connections in their accomodation and their machines are all part of an Active Directory domain. A member of staff just bought a new machine with MCE 2005 on it but it appears the option to join a domain isn't available in that version. What we're thinking of doing is wipe the machine, install XP Pro SP2, join domain then upgrade to MCE 2005. Anybody know if this will work?

I suppose I could always tell him to stick with XP Pro and use GB-PVR instead but that's not my brief.
