I was thinking of expanding the storage for the house w/ one of these, so I don't need to have my main system on in the morning. The complaints I seem to read is the speed isn't there on these.

Is there one of these worth a damn yet? I read a lot of complaints about speed.

I'd rather go networked than USB if possible, and the NAS seem a little pricey still.

For what it's worth, I just confused my scheduled recording.

Ok, so I scheduled Greys Anatomy earlier today, which was scheduled for 10:15 to 11:15pm. Originally I set a pre-pad of 1 minute and a post-pad of 15 minutes due to the Super Bowl.

I decided to edit it around 10:12pm, and by the time I updated the post-pad from 15min to 25min, the recording started. Looks like it's recording, but GBPVR's GUI doesn't know it. In fact, it still shows it as pending in the GUI although the tray icon shows it's recoding. If you try to go to "Live TV" it simply says that no tuners are available.

i get an error message at the beginning of recordings (programs record fine, or at least seem to). It must have happened at about 10 pm.

Which log file should i attach?

so, i go to connect my msi 6600gt agp card to my tv today via its output dongle. it has connections for component out, composite in/out, and svideo in/out. i connected the composite out to my tv and the picture was black and white!?!?!? i can't figured out how to correct it! can anyone help me?

I just noticed, that my program guide displays every show eactly one hour to early. I get the epg data via the internet, and use tvm2xml to convert the data to xmltv. I live in Germany, so my time zone is +1 hour. I checked the xmltv file with the editor, and there is a mark after every show “+02:00”.
The internet source came with a little program called clickfinder, which displays all the timings correctly. So I guess the tvm2xml program mixes it somehow up.
Does anyone know what to do?

I can drag files into the comskip.exe, but it does not work or generat output files when integrated with GBPVR. I have not really changed any settings (btw, it is the latest version of comskip), and have selected it to run in the GBPVR config. I believe there was an error message, but it did not specify that it was comskip that generated it. I can drag an mpeg into comskip and it will create the files necessary, but i thought it was supposed to run automatically. Any ideas?

I'm just interested if some of you would welcome Seeking/Jump-to-time functionality within transcoded avi files (DivX/Xvid). This is restricted right now to seek only thru already transcoded part of video file. So if you want to skip to half of a movie you have to wait say half an hour before you can do that.

Is it possible to change/delete/add pictures in the My videos plugin? It works great 99% of the time, but every once in a while it will pull a poster for a movie that is not even close to being correct. And the same applies to the description. Can I change these? I do have Access, so is it possible to change the references in the db?

Love GB-pvr and all the plugins, way better than all the commercial apps out there!

So, the Plextor ConvertX can interlace capturing in mpeg2 format. But I can't find any software, what can use it. Why blending frames when not necessary?

I don't have time to elaborate at the moment b/c of the superbowl being on, but I have been having serious memory leak problems on my system... it has 1 gig of ram and yet frequently after my computer has been on for a while, i have only 200 MB or less available. This eventually results in my PC hard-locking.

Now granted I'm not absolutely sure the locking is due to the memory loss or that the memory loss is due to GBPVR, but I've never had this problem before using GBPVR so I was just wondering if it's a known issue at all?

BTW I frequently leave my computer running without restarting for days at a time.
