hi,
i used xmltvnz to download the guide ((xml) attached).
and i click update EPG in gbpvr and it takes about 4 secs.
i then navigate to tv guide and only some of the titles of the programs are showing eg infomercials but not the simpsons. it shows the name down the bottom in the description but not up the top where you navigate.
anybody got any ideas?
I just noticed that I'm logged out after short period of time. When I am typing post and then want to post it I'm promted for User Name and Password again. This is bothering me. Can this time be set somewhere? I haven't seen it in my user options.
Anyone ever tried to use cuttermaran manually? I have no complaints about the program when used with a cuttermaran project generated by the greatest prgram ever, comskip, but when I went in to do some manual cuts, I'm having some issues. Their forum being in German, I thought maybe someone here could help.
I'm tried both 1.66 and 1.65, on both my laptop and desktop and I find the same issue. After loading the file, it will play fine while I look for places to put cut points, but as soon as I try to back it up or move it forward for more precise placement, the video in the editing window resets to the first frame. The audio stays at the appropriate place, but you cannot see where putting the cuts. The same thing happens if, instead of just playing thru, you move the cursor ahead with the mouse from the beginning, and every time you pause and restart.
Anyone ever try this, or know why it might be doing that? It's certainly possible that I'm doing something simple wrong. I appreciate any tips or advice, and would be happy to provide more info should it be needed. Thanks.
Alternatively, does anyone know of an video viewer that tells you what frame you are on, so I can generate my own cuttermaran project file?

Laptop,
XP pro, Intel M Dothan 715, 512mb, mobility Radeon 9600 with 64meg
Similar speed. Both have separate HDD for OS and PVR data. Both record flawlessly and playback recorded video without an issue. However live TV is where they start behaving differently.
on #1 I can use live preview mode.
on #2 I cannot use live preview as it is VERY jerky.
So on #2 I use timeshift mode. Audio is flawless - video looks like it is dropping frame when the image moves quickly. Just enough to loose WAF points.
Question: What has a greater effect on live preview/timeshift - CPU, grahics, or other? Could re-scalling to TV out be the issue?
PS. Sub, Live preview is set on the 'misc' tab of the config utility, but the delay is controlled on the 'playback' tab. Should they be together - or is this to satisfy your sense of humour?
OK - I've setup GBPVR on my dad's computer and MVP (Using a Nova-T card with the latest version of GB PVR) and am mostly satisfied with the results so far apart from I can't seem to pause playbacks ..
.... when you press the pause button it crashes and goes back to "Searching for servers ..." and won't find one until you restart the GBPVR server software ...

Hi everyone. I have a Dish 322 set-top box. It has two tuners (for two rooms/TV's). One tuner controlled by an IR remote, the other by a UHF remote. Unfortunately, I got the UHF remote, and I was wondering how I could have GB-PVR change the channel on the set-top box for me. Anyone know of a UHF channel changer or some other way to get it done? I've been searching the forums for a while, and I'm having trouble getting the info i need regarding quality and file size. Basically, I want to be able to do several things:
1) Record shows in good quality, strip commercials, and burn episodes onto dvd-r. I want to be able to fit several episodes onto a dvd if possible
2) Be able to convert certain mpeg2 recordings to xvid, for practical/portable purposes. I'd like reduced filesizes without too much compromise to the quality.
What tools do I need do achieve these things?
I understand bitrates and stuff conceptually, but I'm having trouble thinking of them in application. So if someone can give me a few pointers regarding tweaking the quality settings in terms of "watchability" and filesize, i would greatly appreciate it.
