tried to search threads for this problem but did not find anything.
While watching live TV; if a recording starts or stops using the second capture card there is about a 5 second interuption in the live TV video and audio. Sometimes it is an audio skip/repeat; sometimes the audio goes away and the video starts hesitating severely. Sometimes the problem corrects itself but sometimes I have to change channels and come back to the original channel to fix it. This also happens if watching a recording.
Is this normal behaviour due to disk access issues? Is there something I can do to improve the situation? I feel my system is plenty powerful.
I hope this hasn't been answered before but I couldn't find anything.
I have set up GBPVR to watch /record local cable channels 2-69 through thr internal tuner and with digitals channels 100-500 through composite video and line in. I have the ir blaster working and everything is fine except that when I watch or record any channels 2-69 I get the audio coming in also from what ever channel the digital box is on. If I turn the box off , I get regular tuner sound but when I switch to a digital channel it doesn't change since the box is off. Turning the box on make the digital channels work fine, but when channel is changed to a non digital channel I get audio from both channels (video is fine)
Is there a way to tell the PVR-150 to mute the line in audio when it's tune to a tuner channel. Thanks again
I like the importing of an episode name but it would be nice if it left some reference to an actual episode number.
For example, if I have an AVI named:-
xyz S01xE02.avi
Then when I see that in the list of files, it's pretty obvious that it's series one episode 2. When I browse and fill in the name, all I get is the name of the episode and if they get out of order, there's no context at all to determine which is which.
It's also easier to remember that you're up to say episode 4 rather than by it's name.
I changed to xmltv as EPG source some weeks ago, because it's free and data is available for germany too.
My problem now is, that xmltv adds two title tags in the xmltv xml file. On with an attribute for the specific language (<title lang="de">...</title>) and another just called <title> with the original movie title.
GB-PVR now just grabs the title tag with the original title to the EPG table. That's a little bit confusing, especially when there are some original french, italian..etc. movies on it (you have no idea what movie it is )

Would it be possible to specify a language parameter for XMLTV EPG Data imports, so GBPVR will grab the specific data?
Setup the GBPVR about a week ago; minimal teething pains, some plugin issues as I add things to it now but I see others with similar issues on the forum so I don't feel picked upon. This is a Nice Solution. Thanks very much.
One question I have that I've not been able to find a general answer for after searching: what are typical channel changing speeds for my setup? I have live preview "enabled if possible" in the one config menu, and turned on in another, it should be doing its thing. I experience a 5 second delay switching channels in live TV. Live TV buffer is set to 600, I've turned it down a bit without a hugely noticible difference (out of 5 seconds).
Hauppauge PVR-350, 1.8GHZ ASUS MB with NVIDIA chipset, 1 gig RAM, XP Pro, GBPVR 0.95.16. USA, cable, not digital cable.
I thought perhaps my sources for capture solutions might not be setup properly, but nothing in there looks intuitively correct, whether I'm adding new or editing current.

I looked at the tuning assistant and the utility to rip the channel tuning from WinTV, but I see no where to type in the exact freq. in the config app, and I thought that was really only for Europe, and I'm in the US.

The msi remote will work within gbpvr using the hip sofware. I downloaded the first option complete software with plugins. seth the software to MCE and all functions along with the plugins, at tleast the ones Im using works. The link is below.
I've had a problem recording since I added a 2nd tv card, (Nova-T.) The funny thing is that the Nova T works fine and records well, but its the original wintv pvr usb2, which had been previously recording flawlessly, seems to have been effected. It looks like wintv pvr usb2 will record only until the nova t is activated, (by a second scheduled recording or by watching another channel, then it will stop. I've hopefully added the log where a recording was stopped after 5 seconds, as i changed channel.
I'm pretty sure I've just forgot to tick some box somewhere.
I just got gbpvr up and running yesterday and wanted to let everyone know that the msi remote will work within gbpvr using the hip software. I downloaded the software with all plugins, the first choice. The link is here
I'm converting AVI's to MPG. When I play the MPG on GB-PVR everything works fine: I can skip or FF and the total time displays correctly.
However when I play the same file on MVP it shows a total time of 0:00:01 (so just 1 second). It plays well, but I can't skip or use the resume function.
