I'm a newbie, just a few days of use so far.

Last night I config'd GBPVR to do XviD conversion overnight.
When I got up I looked and there were AVIs in the directories with the MPG (I told it not to delete originals).

The AVIs will not play, VirtualDub says they have invalid video frame data. I use this machine to encode XviD video *all the time* so I'm pretty sure the codecs are installed and working.
Any ideas?

As an aside, I renamed the AVI hoping GBPVR would revert back to the MPG. Instead, the show disappeared from the "ready" recordings list. I renamed the AVI back again, and the listing is still gone, so I guess I've just lost that entry on the nice listing. I'll probably just reencode the shows manually and put them in the video library area.

Is there a way to have the system revert all those shows it converted to AVI back to the MPG version? Sure wish GBPVR used MySQL, I'd know how to deal with that.

I noticed that the best MPEG2 decoder makes all the difference. I tried GBPVR with my old Intervideo windvd decoder, this has been performing well but I don't get any OSD with VMR 9 (I am aware of this issue with Cyberlink, but haven't found anything aout WinDVD), and if I go with overlay the fonts look grainy and broken.

So I downloaded the trial version of cyberlink DVD, and the perfromance on my AMD 1.4Ghz was AWFUL. out of sync, gets stuck, etc...

So what decoder is the best for GBPVR? Is it elecard? I downloaded their coder pack but couldn't find it under 'avaialble decoders' under GBPVR.

maybe this has been asked before, but i cant seem to find it. is there any way of getting the fm radio unit of the pvr 350 to work in gbpvr? or is it supposed to be working out of the box?

Something that I have been wondering about is that I bought two MVP's at different times from different suppliers.

One of them is I guess the 45 button control, the other has less. Fortunately, when I bought a Nova-T, it came with the 45 button control so I just used that with the MVP with the cut down control.

Question is, if I buy another MVP and it doesn't have the remote that I like, can I set gbpvr to use two different types of remote? I don't believe that I can set a different control per gbpvr instance?

the only pluginHelper call i can find that allows me to exit the screen saver is
pluginHelper.ReturnToMainMenu();

if not, sub can you add a call?

Well it's taken me a while, but I think I have the MusicLibrary2 ready for release.

This one changes a lot of things, so please back up your MusicLibrary2.mdb, Config.xml, your skin files (Blue and BlueMCE2) and DLL.

Main changes, are to where music paths are stored. They are not in the Config.xml anymore, so you WILL have to add them into the new structure in the Config app.

I'll give it a week or so before I load to the wiki properly.

Here's the change log:

• Memory leak while playing - fixed
  
• Added M3U support. They are picked up when a library scan is done. You can delete then from the list of playlists but they will come back again.
  
• Major changes to the drawing of the plugin, which should hopefully result is less memory usage.
  
• A new random playlist can now be generated when an existing one finishes. This action is configurable (on or off).
  
• Genre is now extracted from the track.
  
• Added ability to cycle the panels through: Artist/Album/Title, Album/Artist/Title and Genre/Artist/Title
  
• Default panel layout is configurable through the config program - and whether to show which layout is selected.

• Added a remote control (cellphone style) text entry. Used to quick select items from the left screen. Also can be used instead of the On Screen Keyboard for naming playlists. Config option to set the latter option.
  
• New configuration option 'Always Query', turned on (by default) every movement requeries the database. If turned off, user has to press 'ok' (enter) or move between the left and top screens for a query to be performed.
  
• New configuration option 'Perform Fast Scans". Uses the Media Library Paths and watches them for changes. Once the system has performed a full scan, it will use the watched folders there after - until GBPVR is restarted.
  
• Added Collections, and changed the directory structure config screens. Paths now stored in the DB rather than the config file. Can change collections from inside GBPVR from the menu (Home).
  
• Added a new update option "Fast Scan" which will only update changed files. This will occur every hour.
  
• Added a media information screen. Hit Ok (or Enter) on a title and details on that song will be displayed.
  
• New DB structure.
  
• Added better skin error checking so an error message should coome up if a skin element is missing.
  

• MediaLibrary2 will dynamically update skin files while open, no need to shut down while skinning!!!
  
• Changed how play back position is put on the screen. It is now a separate element.
  
• Had to add a 'size' parameter to the "AlbumArt" special Element

Hello everyone,

I am totally new to GBPVR and I can't figure out how to set it up properly.

I have the Hauppauge WinTV-PVR USB2 and I am trying to hook it up to my PC so I can watch cable tv.

I unplugged the "Cable In" wire from the back of my cable box and plugged it directly into the "TV In" on the Hauppauge WinTV-PVR USB2 and hooked it up to my PC with the USB cord.

The only problem is, I can't watch cable tv. All I am getting is about seven free basic tv channels. Am I doing something wrong?

Maybe the Hauppauge WinTV-PVR USB2 is no good. I can still return it for a refund back to the store if necesary. What should I do? Does anyone have this particular model and have it working properly? :confused:

I Am getting this error only when the PC comes out of standby, (have'nt tryed it in hibernate) I did a while back, turn off a few things in the 'services.msc'. could that be my problem? I am running the MCE remote/blaster combo, (USB). Another issue I am having is- The EPG wont wake the PC for the scheduled time. Is this process monitored by the recording scheduler, or do I have to have GBPVR open before it powers down to standby? (either way, it wont update).


I saw a DVD recorder (plays divx/svcd/vcd/mp3/ect....) at Superstore the other day for 89 bucks. That still wont staop me form getting this up and running..:p too much fun!!!

When I use the music player or the MyMusic plugin to stream a list of mp3 files to my mvp, the last second (approximately) of each mp3 gets cut off. Note: when I make mp3 files, I usually don't leave any silence at the beginning or end of the file.

'File or aseembly name Interop.DexterLib, or one of its dependencies, was not found.'


I get this error at the end of watching a recorded program or when i press 'stop' while watching a recorded program. I have the 1.1 .NET framework installed and everything else works fine. I have changes skins to see if it was associated with that and experienced the same problem. Any clues? I can live without it, but obviously a fix would be ideal....
