I'm not sure what's going on here but i've just transcoded 2 films and noticed that although I have the full film recorded, when both were converted, one is 1:43:33 and the other is 1:43:32 in length.
Does ffmpeg have a limit as to the input file size as that's about all that I can think of, ffmpeg reading the first 2GB and then assuming eof? The output files are 1.2 and 1.5GB.
The gbpvr recording log indicates that the file transcode completed and thus doesn't offer any help there.

Today i´d tryed to record a short trailer with with option BDA mux ts (because eric asks for some testers for new comskip functions for ts recording).
But my recording did not start. I thought that the gbpvr recording service may hang - so i tryed to restart the service. I got some Error messages
I got a 0Mb file - so it seems that ts recording not working for me.
But sub will you plse look at the error messages?
They are a little comfusing 4me - could it be, that there is any language conflict? My Windows prof is a german version- because i´d this messages before, i´d installed gbpvr in path c:\program files\...... - normally in a german windows installation this is c:\programme\.......
In the first error message a missing component is searched in c:\program file\microsoft visual ...........
This path does not exist on my machine!!!
Did i make a mistake during installation ?

My MVP had been working great. Smooth playback with no problems. A few weeks ago I did the yearly reformat and reinstall thingy and shortly after I noticed that when I play back my captures thru the MVP about every 2 or 3 minutes, the video goes stuttery. It stays in sync and gets fine but then it does it again. I have my recordings on a separate drive and it has plenty of room and is defragged regularly.
The files play fine directly from the computer. Anything else I should look at.

A while back there were a couple threads here about using the MCE2005 IR blaster with GB-PVR to control a STB. Someone mentioned the freebie package 'HIP' as an alternative to Girder. It has a utility, HIPSend, that was written to be used with GB-PVR.
OK...what I'm trying to do is use it all to change channels on my HDTV tuner that I feed into GB-PVR. I have the MCE2005 remote & IR blaster and I've downloaded & installed HIP and HIPSend and played with it a bit and read the stuff on the DVB forum but I have to say I'm still baffled about how it all fits together.
Has anyone here gotten this combo to work with a STB? I would really appreciate a step-by-step recipe on how to do it.
I've been able to get into HIP and teach it the tuner's remote commands and they even work when I run the test. I just don't see how to make the connection with HIPSend and HIP. I've pointed my capture source channel changer to hipsend but it doesn't seem to do anything. I'm sure I'm missing something obvious but it's getting to be really frustrating.
Any help with this would be greatly appreciated.
OTOH, I think (hope) sub is going to fix the problem with using the MCE2005 blaster directly from GB-PVR in the next release, so perhaps I should just wait for that. But that wouldn't be as much fun, now, would it?
I have the option in config set to prevent dupes and I know that GBPVR uses the zap2it unique IDs. But maybe another way might be also to use the zap2it description?
If the ID is unique but it's description matches a show already recorded, treat it as a dupe.
