In the past I have used TV tuner cards to record analog stations on Rogers cable in Toronto. I subscribe for digital stations and would ideally like to record those stations using a TV tuner card.

Is there a card out there that will record Rogers digital channels? If so what is the best PCI card? What is the best USB device?

A mate of mine was visiting last night and expressed interest in me putting together a GB-PVR system for him. He wants 2 or 3 tuners, one would be dedicated to his external Sky box and the others to run straight from a standard aerial.

He'll obviously need an IR blaster to switch channel on the Sky box and that's where my knowledge is lacking. I've done a quick search on the forums and see that there are problems with the Hauppauge MCE Blaster kit and Sky UK boxes. Is there a resolution to this? Alternatively, what other blasters work with GB-PVR and Sky boxes?

So I was having issues with 0 byte recordings and discovered that I didn't have a multiplexer filter installed.

I can still watch Live Tv but is this what is causing the 0 byte recordings?

Hauppauge 350, 3400+ AMD Sempron Processor, 256 Mb, Windows XP.

If so, any chance of a couple of screen shots of the settings. Cant get mine to record, it adds the program to the scedule but wont start recording.

I've been having an interesting issue using mencoder on my recently recorded files. I have the PVR-150, so every few recordings have bad timestamps.

ReTime in the post-processing seems to fix these problems and comskip now works, but I wanted to be able to fix the files a little quicker so I tried mencoder. The files seem to be correct except for one problem: there are absolutely NO timestamps. If I open the file in Windows Media Player it lists the time as 0:00. Obviously, any attempt to fast-forward, rewind, pause, comskip will not work. Has anyone else had any problem similar to this, and does anyone know a solution to this? Thanks!

I'm trying to get hipsend to work, I've configured HIP with my STB commands and I can send the commands to the STB from the HIP configuration however that's all I can do' it won't send the commands from within GBPVR. I've set it up to use the .exe changer plugin and have pointed to the hipsend program and have {channel} in the parameters.

Also if I run hipsend from a command prompt it doesn't send commands, I'm assuming that as I can send the commands from the HIP configuration HIP is configured correctly?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I searched the forums and haven't found anything on this yet, so forgive me it if has already been addressed. I have a new install of GBPVR on a new install of Windows XP Pro. I ran all Windows updates and have .Net 1.1 w/ hotfix, and .Net 2.0 installed. Any help would be appreciated.

I purchased a PVR 150 MCE. I installed it on a Windows XP machine with service pack 2. While windows is loaded and I am logged on I can watch TV record and everything else. As soon as I reboot the computer, it forces windows to reboot every time, right before the logon screen comes up. I go in to safe mode and disable the PVR 150 MCE and windows loads normal and I can enable it and use it again. Once I reboot it does it all over again.



Here are the specs on my computer:



Pentium 4 1.6 GHz

768 MB of RAM

NVIDIA Geforce2 Ultra 64 MB (Color Quality 32 bit)



I originally assumed there was a conflict between the video card and PVR 150 MCE as they were sharing IRQ 11. I moved the card to another PCI slot and it still does the same thing even with different IRQs.



I believe it’s a driver issue because before it loads the logon screen it restarts. But when disabled, it works fine. I would greatly appreciate it if I could get some help on this. If you need anymore info please let me know. Thanks in Advance.
