I recently got GB-PVR (BDA drivers) to work with a Kworld ATSC-110 ( OTA ATSC / HDTV ) but have run into a problem recording. The problem is exhibited in two ways,
a) From a cold start of the system ( or a reboot ) and GB-PVR has not been used to watch live-tv then I get 0 KB recordings in both the recordingservice as well as choosing QuickRecord or Record from the TV Guide.
b) If I first tune to a particular channel from GB-PVR ( i.e watch Live TV ) then recording ( from the TVGuide or RecordingServices ) produces nice large files BUT no matter what TV program I choose to record, the system records the last tuned channel. In other words, it does not change the channel.
I have no problems changing channels in the LiveTV mode.
So, it seems that there might be two issues
a) Does GB-PVR have to initialize the card ? Is there something to configure ?
b) Why is the channel change not occuring ? Could a misconfigured BDA.ini entry cause this problem ?
Any help would be appreciated. In the meantime, I am searching the forum(s) but its slow going.

I have a PVR 150 and am using it with most recent version of GBPVR.
I have downloaded some skins and have successfully viewed them on my computer. However, the MVP still displays to Blue skin on my TV. No matter what skin I download and select in Config the TV MVP styill shows the old theme.
Am I missing something? Is it possible to view skins on the TV as well as Computer.
I tried rebooting devices/stop start the servers. None seem to help.
Before i go out and blow 200 dollars on some 2.1 or 5.1 speakers id like to see if i can fix this from the computer.
During viewing and while watching my recordings i notice the audio level is VERY low.
(WMP you watch the lil bitblocks jump up and down... not so high)
Im wondering what might help this?(ive tried system default cyberlink and mpeg audio decoders)
With my speakers i get no sound when there turned completely off (duh) and when about 1/5th some sound hearable and stuff ( but not loud over a hum of my computer much) Not enough to fill a room.. only sitting next to them you can hear well.
And from about 2/5ths to about max there isnt much improvement.
I used to use GBPVR but I got DirecTV with TiVo so I stopped using it. I rebuilt the computer that I was using and now I am trying to get it running again so that I can copy shows onto a DVD but I setup the configuration as I did last time but now when I attempt to run GBPVR it wont start and the icon in the quicklaunch when clicked on simply says capture device #1. Sleeping. What the hell does that mean and how do i get it started. Thanks.
I installed the latest version when it came out a few weeks ago. At that time I compacted my database down to 8MB. I noticed today that my DB was 845MB!? I compacted it down to 8MB again, but what in the world is going on here? I'm not doing anything out of my norm.
I just joined the forum from a link from tv-cards.com's forum. I've spent the better part of today trying to decide on a video card and tuner card. My daughter will be off to college in the sping and im building her and her friend a new system. The base system is a antec lanboy case becuase is nice and light. MOB is either a abit or asus just because I've had good results with both. Im planning on a socket 754 due to the lower cost and AMD 64 3400. I decided on a maxtor ide 133 over the 150 sata becuase comp usa has a 250 gig maxtor for 60.00 after the rebate vs 108.00 for the segate sata at newegg. I didnt think there was enough of a performance boost not to save some cash. Niether of the girls play games and will be using the computer for school, internet and multimedia, i-pods , music and thought a tv tuner card would be a nice addition to the system. Im planning on a vewsonic VA 1912 wb wide screen max resolution of 1440 x 900 LCD. WIN XP PRO
My questions are:
1. what do you think of the above sytem specs.
2. Newegg has a evga fx5500 dvi and analog out s-out 256 megs. 39.00 on
sale. Would this card work well with a tv tuner card or can you
recommend which card would be better? I' like to say under 80.00-100.
3. ok the perverbial which turner card? seems the pv-150 is the choice by
alot of people here. I also looked at some of the reviews of the ati550
chip which was favorable except for the cyberlink software. Hopefully they
will be studying vs watching tv but we all know about lol. I know nothing
about tv cards so which would you recommend?
4. What ever card I decide on by downloading the gbpvr software, does that
mean I should not install any of the drivers or software that comes with
the tv tuner card?
I'm in desperate need of assistance, I built a new computer - replace my old ATI All-in-Wonder Capture card for a new WinTV PVR-500MCE. I was so excited of the IDEA of having a two tuners. Well I'm at crisis melt down - I have two days to get three videos copied to DVD for a conference and I can't figure out how to setup this darn thing.
Can some one give me some idiot proof instructions. The tunner has FM, Coaxial, S-Video, and the RCA Jacks Yellow, White, and Red.
I have an issue where if I record another program straight after the previous one on the same channel then GVPBR records blank for the duration of the second program.
Now I believe GBPVR happily thinks it's recording just fine because the logs indicate a normal recording ending at the correct time, however I get a 0 byte file.
I think this may be an issue with the Nova-T not handling the quick end session/begin session very well.
Is there any way to tune this or perhaps build in some kind of delay. It is a tricky area this especially with the padding time, you're bound to miss the end or the start of one of the programs... I'd rather miss a few seconds off the start than have none of it at all.
