Hi ,
I installed gb pvr on 2003 server set-up tuned in / configed fine but when ever
I get it to record it always record in mpeg even tho I set it to dvr-ms.
Do I need to do something else to get dvr-ms recordins (2003 supports dvr-ms right ?)
I have Windows MCE 2005 installed and 2x BlackGold DVB-T cards. MCE is configred to only use 1 of the cards so the other should be free for GB-PVR. When I do a "Map digital channels" though it scans through 6 muxes(?) very quickly and finds nothing, the whole scan anly lasts about 10 seconds.
I have tried editting my config.xml as mentioned in a couple of other threads about this problem but no luck. I tried:
in all possible combinations but no imrovement, in fact with the parser off it was even worse - about a 5 seconds scan. I have tried changing the "Device Number" in case I was addressing the wrong card but there's no change. Any idea what I am doing wrong?
Is there country specific versions of this? We have SCART in the UK not phono connectors.
Also if there is country specific stuff will it screw up how GBPVR works? I have a PVR350 card (UK) and it works (not fine but works) but this is a composite in and out.
I see that the X-Box360 is going to interface with Windows Media Center and that the 1st Generation X-Box has a Conversion program that will turn it into a Media center. Does anyone know how to or would like to start a project to convert a 1st Gen X-Box to act as an MVP? These are going to dorp in price when the new 360 comes out. Let me know what you guys think!!
There's been talk in the support forum lately of how the DVB EPG isn't working that well for many people, with many reports of gappy data.
You said previously in this thread that you only scanned the PIDs containing EPG data for the current mux. In the UK at least, each mux contains data for all other muxes - would it be too much extra work to include an option to scan the PIDs containing data for all other muxes (Perhaps as a "check this box if you're in the UK" in the config app)? Then, only one mux would need to be scanned (although for even better EPG coverage, all muxes could be scanned). This has the potential to decrease EPG update times and improve the amount of data in the EPG itself.
Build 16 was made after extensive retesting leading to many small corrections and heuristics improvements thanks to the test files I received from users all over the world.
Most important improvement is the ability to correctly recognize a (very) short initial show segment followed by a commercial
I have GBPVR and a PVR350 card, due to the number of problems of crashing, files stopping and "red screens" i had this idea but need to understand it first.
From what i read GBPVR seems to have "stopped" support fotr the TV OUT on the PVR350, this was the whole idea i bought it (Hardware decoder) so...........
I looked at the MVP and understand this is a hardware decoder pulling data accross network from a "server", so to verify how does this work...???
MVP with drivers to a server (in this case the same box as the GBPVR) can the MVP be static IP address (as i see most are DHCP)?
How does the GBPVR work and interact with the MVP, how does it know as you are using a remote control with the MVP that what it needs to do to GBPVR?
There would seem to be "other" bugs with MVP like stopping, dropping and glitches, are these setup errors or just network topology problems? or worse just a new version of a bug like the "TV Out problem on the PVR350)?
The who idea will be to not use the PVR350 and replace it with a hardware encoder only (PVR250 or something) then not use the server to connect to the TV but instead this MVP (long way round but it should be more reliable)?
I am playing with the idea of SAGE.TV but i really think that might be worse and would like to say with GBPVR but i have to get somethign working...
