  Visualisations - API
Posted by: psycik - 2005-12-08, 12:16 AM - Forum: Developers - Replies (20)

Hi sub

are those visualisations you have in Music Library a Sub's music library special the the inset command, or can us poor fob's that re-write the music sections get access to it as well??

Oh, and I read somewhere it's supposed to come on with the default screen saver, again is that something triggered from your music library?

How many disks do you burn?
Posted by: reboot - 2005-12-08, 12:10 AM - Forum: General Discussion - Replies (10)

Just how many recordings do you actually archive to disk, either as DVD, or data for storage?
I used to burn 50+ a month, now I'm down to about 2.
My wife thinks we're saving money having the PVR Wink

  Hauppauge MCE500 live preview
Posted by: Kevl - 2005-12-08, 12:08 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (3)

Is live preview possible on this card?

There always seems to be a delay between live TV captured via composite input and screen output in GBPVR.

Kev

  comskip?
Posted by: nv40 - 2005-12-07, 11:42 PM - Forum: Old Stuff (Legacy) - Replies (16)

Can anyone tell me roughly how long it takes comskip to run on a 30 minute show after it's done, roughly? And does this effect it running during another show.....say back to back recordings?

  TV shows name in Pending?
Posted by: Pinan - 2005-12-07, 11:33 PM - Forum: Wishlist - Replies (3)

Saw this asked a couple of times, but no answer I could find.

When I schedule recordings, after entering the shows name, etc., the name does not show up under "Pending" recordings. This would be great for obvious reasons. If you have several shows waiting to record it would be handy knowing which is which.

Sorry if I missed this somewhere. Smile

Not planning to jump ship, and I have no personal experience on this, but is MCE really as bad as everyone says?

  Peculiar recording
Posted by: Lindsay - 2005-12-07, 10:44 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (1)

The mpg file was the right length but it was handled as follows:- GBPVR played a few seconds, WMP took about 10 sec to move the place-holder to the right-hand end then continued to play the file, VideoRedo Plus played 12 sec and stopped but the commercial finder read the whole file!

Anyone any ideas as to what would cause this? Looks some file corruption? I just wanrt a reliable PVR!!!

  Failed Recording
Posted by: Lindsay - 2005-12-07, 10:38 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (2)

I have had a couple of recording errors recently. One prog recorded last night is reported by GBPVR as having "Failed" (in red lettering). But the mpg file looks fine to two other players. The recording log doesn't show errors, either. Tried to find it in the mdb file but couldn't see where this failed status was held. So what triggers this failed status and any idea why it would get applied to a working file?

  v0.95.15 available
Posted by: sub - 2005-12-07, 10:05 PM - Forum: NextPVR Announcements - Replies (46)

I've just uploaded http://www.gbpvr.com/GBPVR09515.msi

It address a few bugs from the preceeding v0.95.11 and v0.95.14 builds. Specifically...

Quote:
2005-12-5 v0.95.15
- Removed feature that deletes files via the recycle bin. It seems to cause a problem for some users, and I cant be bothered looking into it.
- Fixed a bug that could cause guide recordings to be saved in the 'manual recordings' folder.
- Fixed a bug that could cause the next song in playlist to not automatically start playing with UseWindowsMediaPlayerForAudio set to true.
- Fixed a bug with screen saver on MVP.
- Fixed a bug that could cause the MVP to disconnect under certain circumstance relating to drawing the screen.
- Changed version of ffmpeg to try an find a version which works well for both MVP 'on the fly' MPEG transcoding, and PSP file conversion.

As always, I recommend you backup your GB-PVR files before upgrade from a previous release.

Its only been very lightly tested (by myself), but I'm sure your guys will let me know if its broken.

  DVB EPG problems
Posted by: Chris Reynolds - 2005-12-07, 09:59 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (8)

sub,
I've followed some of the threads on DVB EPG updates and wondered if you've seen a problem like this. I'm getting 'holes' in my schedule. I updated the harvest time to 480 to try to fill as many as possible but there were still some there. I had a log in the gbpvr log and found this error in there:

Quote:07/12/2005 21:12:23.937 VERBOSE [2] Date: 2005 12 14 19 0 0
07/12/2005 21:12:23.937 VERBOSE [2] Date: 2005 12 9 1 0 0
07/12/2005 21:12:23.937 ERROR [2] DVB EPG error reading xml: '', hexadecimal value 0x02, is an invalid character. Line 198, position 2.
07/12/2005 21:12:24.453 VERBOSE [2] getValue cached value: /settings/BDAUsePsiParser : true
07/12/2005 21:12:24.453 VERBOSE [2] getValue cached value: /settings/DvbEpgHarvestDuration : 480
07/12/2005 21:20:24.453 VERBOSE [2] getValue cached value: /settings/SaveDvbEpgXML : true

I've attached various logs and XMLs if that helps at all

Cheers

Chris
