I posted over in the hardware forum, but here might be better as I now suspect a software bug in GB-PVR.
I've got a Hauppage WinTV-NOVA-T-USB-2 for watching UK Freeview channels. In the (awful) supplied software I get a full list of channels and can happily watch pretty much all of them. I tried ShowShifter and Media Portal and also got a similar channel list and could watch them all. So I'm pretty confident that the Nova T is working just fine with our aerial and the reception is good.
Unfortunately, Showshifter and Media Portal don't work with my laptop's TV-Out and although WinTV2000 does, it is slow and has no integrated EPG. I really, really want to use GB-PVR as it seems to have everything I need, but the performance with my tuner is very poor. GB-PVR detects fewer channels than the others, and with many of them I get sound but no picture.
Hello,
Having trouble burning DVDs in My Videos, it seems that the plug in goes through all of the steps, but the disc ejects in the end and its blank. I am not familar with dvd formats, but the temp dvd directory has both the audio_ts and video_ts folders
The Video_ts folder has files in it,
The Audio_ts is empty.
Anyone have some ideas on where i can start?
THanks,
I'm having a minor problem with my HDTV setup: whenever I play a program the sound will "hiccup" shortly every 5 or 10 seconds. At first I thought this was a reception issue but it seems to be an issue with the PC possibly. Could there be any particular cause to this? Thanks
Sorry I had to make another post, hopefully this will be my last one for a while - thanks everyone for all the help!
I've just recently come accross this issue where my 2nd Display TV S-video picture freeezes when I exit any video footage (DVD or live TV) My promary screen (LCD monitor) is fine and when I re-enter Live TV the sound works but no picture cose the picture from the kast program is frozen.
It was like that yestarday and I've only played with ffsdshow Audio and it still worked
In order to get rid of the freeze I have to exit GBPVR and re-enter.
P.s I've just realaised that when I use VRM 9 it's ok, but VRM 7 and Overlay it freezes.
The reason for using VRM 7 is that I get a line across the TV screen with VRM 9.
I just bought a new hard drive and moved my "Recordings" directory to it and changed GB-PVR's settings to reflect that change. Now all my recordings are gone. Is there a way to make the recordings appear as they used to? Thanks.
I have recently added a HDTV card to my GBPVR box which is setting under my Samsung DLP TV. Frequently, whenever I turn the TV on, my computer reboots, or hangs. I isolated this to the new HD card (Fusion Lite 5) by unpluging the antenna cable from the card, which makes the problem go away. Of course, that means I cannot watch HDTV anymore, or just keep unplugging/plugging forever.
I know it is some kind of interference, I just do not know enough about this to figure out how to fix it. The only link between the TV and the computer is the DVI cable from my graphics card (Nvidia FX5200).
Does anyone have a good idea regarding how to lock the PC (i.e. need to type in password) to use it, but such that this doesn't impact the ability to use GBPVR on the secondary monitor (in a different room)?
I now use my gbpvr to record shows and then convert them to mp4 to playback on my ipod. I run comskip and comclean then move the file to my default conversion folder. I get this all to work (then videora runs automatically and converts to mp4 ready to transfer to my ipod).
BUT, I would like the recordings to be named with the show name as well as the episode name.
Currenlty I get a name like this: Seinfeld_20051123_23300000.mpg
I would like it to appear like this: Seinfeld - The Blood.mpg
I have tried renamerecording and this, as far I as I am able to figure out, will rename the show to the episode only, so The Blood.mpg.
After renamerecording I obviously I lose the file (since %1 no longer works) and I don't know how to automatically cut and move the file to my default conversion directory. How can I also find the name of the recently renamed file and then move it?
Any help?
Here is my postproceessing.bat
comskip %1
call comclean %1
del "%~dpn1.log"
del "%~dpn1.txt"
del "%~dpn1.logo.txt"
del "%~dpn1_original.mpg"
RenameRecording %1 > RenameRecording.log
move %1 F:\Media\Video\Videora\Downloads
FYI.......the Videora\Downloads location runs Videora and converts anything dumped there to mp4 for the ipod.
Thanks!
I had originally mis-posted in the plugins forum. This is a more approriate forum sorry.
I'd like to get a copy of the Doctor Who scene that was broadcast on BBC1 for the Children In Need night. I tried downloading & converting the RealMedia from the Beeb website, but it doesn't look too good. Did anyone happen to record it? I'm not worried about PAL - I've converted all the Confidentials & episodes from the Eccleston era already. Thanks much!
