The link that the wiki for Dvdauthor goes to says that it will bring me to "precompiled win32 binaries", but when I download the newest version "dvdauthor-0.6.11.tar.gz", all that is in the file is a bunch of files with extensions that are not executables. There are many '.c' and '.h' files which I think mean they are C source code, but I have no idea how to use the files I downloaded with Myvideos. I assume I must need to compile it somehow, but instructions are not given on the so-called "dvd burning dummies guide", so I'm left wondering what to do in order to get things running.
(I guess I'm a bigger dummie than the guide anticipated. lol)
I have just noticed that the musicplayer plugin does not appear to fill the @Album variable for the musicpanel but it seems to work correctly within its own jukebox skin
and also within its own jukebox skin the @Artist variable is actually called @Artitst
could there be a simialr spelling mistake for the @Album variable
I'd like to see an integrated way to burn recorded TV shows to DVD, using GBPVR. It would be even better, if it edited out the comercials Comskip has detected. (sorry if there is already an existing way to do this or plugin, but I looked around and couldnt find anything)
I have a TwinHan Alpha USB using the latest (1.0.4.1) BDA drivers from their web Site.
GB-PVR does not work with the "Out of Box" settings as the driver name seems to have changed (had similar problem in MediaPortal).
The workaround is to edit the section for the video card in the bda.ini file:
[Twinhan Alpha USB DVB-T]
TUNING_TYPE=DVB-T
RECEIVER_ONLY_MODE=1
FILTER_RECEIVER=DTV-DVB USB2 DVB-T receiver
PIN_RECEIVER_IN=Antenna In Pin
PIN_RECEIVER_OUT=MPEG2 Transport
Ive just bought a pinnacle 200e and installed the software that came with it(pinnacle mediacenter). Its crashed on me about 4 times this morning and seems like a bit of a lame piece of software in general. I then uninstalled and went to look for an alternative app to run the live tv on.
I ended up here looking at GB-pvr and it looked perfect, im not going to be doing anything other than watch tv and record a few programs now and again so i wanted something nice and simple.
Ive downloaded it and im really confused as to what i need to do to get it working. I dont even know what BDA driver is and where i would find one, and i dont even know if this GB-pvr even supports the 200e. Can anyone give me step by step instructions on what i need to do please??
thanks in advance
ps. if it doesnt support the 200e anyone know another pvr that i could use?
I have my PVR350 recording well now,but occassionally when i activate live TV or even playback via GBpvr, the audio level is dropped to the minimum. This only happens with GBpvr.
It also will display a black and white picture just as often, and this is rectified by starting WinTV2000 (even whilst GBpvr is running) and it will automatically correct the colour!
What could be the cause of these bugs and how can i rule out if the problem exists with my HTPC or GBpvr?
I recently bought the Hauppage Nova-T USB and have been looking for software to replace the awful WinTV app that came with it to watch UK FreeView channels.
The big plus point for GB-PVR is that it works fine with my laptop's TV-Out and fullscreen (more than I can say for nearly all the competing apps that I tried) and also integrates nicely with the Hauppage remote control.
However, I've got a persistently recurring problem with the Live TV plugin that is driving me insane: GB-PVR picks up far fewer channels than competing apps (showshifter for example was able to reliably pick up pretty much everything). Even worse, after rescanning I can watch all the channels detected in the preview window while assigning them to my EPG channels, but after closing config and going to the main app I start to lose channels left right and centre. Within a short time last night I was only able to watch the BBC channels: first I lost the ITV channels, then the Channel 4 channels went and I eventually gave up. On different days it can be different channels disappearing. A rescan usually brings them back for a while but nothing ever seems to be permanent.
I'm also having trouble in general finding the best way of updating the EPG. I've tried the XMLTV plugin, with an XML file generated from the Radio Times XMLTV grabber (http://www.birtles.org.uk/xmltv/) and I've also tried the over-the-air plugin. Neither give me a complete channel list that is reliable regardless of which channels I pick up in the scan. Anyone got any tips on getting a complete EPG?
Is there any way to supress the entries in the MusicPanelWidget.log file as you can see in the attached screendump my logfile has grown to over 550mb all of which seems to be info that would only be needed for debug purposes.
the pendinglist.log is also quite large but not really a problem in the same way
I have a Hauppauge 350PVR - and it is working fine in most every way.....
I love GB-PVR - so many great options!
The only thing I can't get to work is LiveTV.... I have worked through a series of errors (most of them covered in the support forums - very nice!).... and now, it tries to load, the screen goes black, and the message about the Home button appears.... a few seconds goes by... then - it goes back to the main menu.....
Any ideas? It doesn't give any error messages.... just doesn't show anything.... I love the software - and think it's many Plugins are great! Nice work all!
(My favorite is the Weather.... that is what sold my wife on it! We don't have access to a "localized weather channel" like cable gives.... so that was a great alternative!)
