Please allow a question from a totally newbee into Comskip?
Is it possible to have Comskip marking commercial parts based only on logo detection?
At my favorite channel, there is always a steady logo during the show and never a logo during commercials.
It seems from the log file that I am detecting the parts with logo's correctly but I have only a com part in the beginning and in the very end - nothing in between.
So is it possible to remove all the other fancy detection methods and using only logo detecttion ?
Due to inconsistency in my EPG content from time to time I am considering going to the manual recording approach. However I haven't seen a way to name the manual recordings, which is a big downside when you're reviewing your recordings afterwards.
Is there a way to name your manual recording (especially the recurring ones).
Do you have any recommendations on DVB-T cards ?
Can you tell your personal reviews on the card you are using ?
Someone told me that the Nebula digiTV is one of the best, but the price is so high. At the moment I noticed that there are many cards around for £40-£55.
For example:
Nova-T PCI from PCWorld for £39.99
Compro VideoMate DVB200 also about £40.
DVB-T USB Stick for £45 (AFAIK, it can't be used with GBPVR)
Nova-T USB2 from PCWorld for £59.99
....
Just recently got a Sony Ericsson K750i cellphone with 1GB memory stick pro duo. I am using a freeware called Super Simplified Universal Player Encoder & Renderer to convert the mpg recordings to .3gp 174x144 mobile format. I then upload the 3gp tv recordings to the cellphone and watch it whenever I have time to catch up.
My wish is to have a build-in (or some sort) 3GP post-processing feature, so every morning I would just have to upload (auto copy to specified folders would be even better) the clips to the memory stick.
If anyone knows command line 3GP converters and scripts, please share.
So I am a bit perplexed and not really sure what is going on. Recently my PVR has just stopped recording shows that I have asked it too. I would set the reoccurrence to record but no instances of it will show in the pending category. I at one time set the âdo not record duplicatesâ setting and I thought it may be my problem after reading other posts but I checked and it is not checked currently. Even on some shows it will record some but then for some reason not record the next week. I thought they were just repeats and it didnât record by my mom has a Comcast PVR and it recorded them for her.
I looked at my version number today and it was 94.8 and I read there were some problems so I upgraded to 94.13 hoping that would fix the problem. None of the recordings would reappear. One in particular is the World Poker Tour. So what I did was remove all of my reoccurrences and start over. I first checked after removal to make sure I had no pending and they were clear. I then went in and set my EMP to go 14 days in advance and pulled the information from Zap2It. Then I set up each occurrence and when I was done I checked to see if the pending were there.
SUCCESS!!
All of the programs I setup were scheduled to record.
World Poker Tour
Survivor
Lost
My Name is Earl
Biggest loser
Iron Chef America
The Office
And a couple more that are slipping my mind as I type
So they are all there and set to record and there were 3 WPTâs to record today alone. I was happy until I came home from shopping and went to watch a WPT and there was nothing there. There was nothing new to watch and when going into pending half of all the shows now did not show up. None of the WPTâs were even available. I looked at the guide and one was starting in 5 minutes and I did a record on it and it wouldnât even record.
This is very frustrating.
The âdo not record duplicatesâ is not checked but I am thinking that maybe it thinks it is or something.
due to poor planning on my part, i was running chkdsk on D: (where my recordings go) when a scheduled recording tried to start. this locks the partition so the recording failed, understandably. But the odd part is that immediately after this, the "What's New" list was completely empty and the "Ready" list had only 2 items in it (previously, both had been a full screen's worth at least). gbpvr is installed on C:.
i'm attaching the logs. the event should be just after "Error starting recording" in GBPVRRecordingService.exe-1.log.
if you go to pending recordings, choose one, click update, make your changes, then go to the botom and click "Update" -- then nothing happens (even if "Update" is already highlighted). if you hit <return> then it works.
Hello,
I installed this program the other day and think it looks to be a first class pvr.
I however, have problems recording, not just with this program but it seems, all pvrs. The problem is: whenever recording fast moving video, like sports, I get the halo pixels around everything. I used to use a software, non-hardware encoding card and thought that was my problem. But now I have the Hauppauge PVR150 and still the recorded video is disappointing. I have tried different interlacing settings with no real difference. It doesn't matter whether I choose 2mbs or 6, same result.
Maybe it's my source? I am using standard time warner cable plugged directly into the card, it's not great but not terrible either. It's not like the sattlite I used to have but the stations are pretty clear.
Is there anyway to perform some kind of processing to remove noise/interlacing that makes a recorded football game very hard to watch.
I have the cyberlink and intervideo, along with the intervideo that came with the card codecs. I think I also have mainconcept.
I guess what I don't understand is why can't pvrs just record what's there, I mean an exact copy of what the tuner is putting out without all the pixel artifacts and blurred smears when the camera pans quickly or a car comes by?
The only real functional problem I had was loosing audio in timeshifting mode. I would reverse a couple times and all of the sudden audio would go away or it would get stuck in fast reverse or forward.
I have tried reinstalling drivers/updating drivers to no avail. If anyone could help me be able to record watchable football games I would surly appreciate it.
My setup is:
P4 3.2g
ram - 1g
video - fx5200
HD 800g total
OS Winxp Pro Sp2
