I have a NOVA T USB 2 with a laptop that has an ATI Radeon 9700 128MB graphics card.
By connecting via the S-Video cable I am able to view my desktop on my TV. But whenever I try to watch a recorded video, it opens in an ActiveMovie window. Is there anyway I can stop this so that is plays within GBPVR?
I'm trying to optimize my setup and need some help.
First, I want to use the BTV and Dscaler decoders. I've installed each program, but GBPVR doesn't pick them up. How do I get GBPVR to see these decoders?
Also, how do I use graphedit in conjunction with GBPVR? I know that I can drag the file into graphedit but I want to see what happens when GBPVR is used.
I was wondering how I can view (and maybe edit) the GBPVR database. I tried OpenOffice 2.0 with their new "base" module. It wouldn't open the database and a brief look around the forums gave me no insight as to why.
Hi All - I'm trying to resolve my issue on "black screens" instead of video, menus work (or worked). I ended up installing the hauppauge mvp software that proved the device worked, but that seemed to add to my problems. Then I saw this quote in an old post in the MVP forum:
Is there any truth to this? - I never installed the winTV2000 app initially, so maybe there is a file there that is needed? However, it doesn't seem to have sense so I wanted to ask before I added extra code to my system - that usually makes things worse for me!
My status so far... I've UNinstalled that Haup MVP software trying to get rid of a hang up at "loading application", remember that I didn't have thid before installing that code. ~ I was able to get the GBPVR menu screens - but not any more - now it hangs forever at "loading application."
I see that my router has a setting that says dhcp server enabled and I see the gbpvr host system IP in the router. So I think I've ruled out the dhcp problem. I've also turned off my xp firewall and let my mvp sit for a few minutes without power to get a reset.
I'm presuming that my system is trying to get or load the doongle (never changed the lastest on set up in GB software) but it isn't successfully loading.
any ideas? man - I can feel my blood pressure going up!
When I click on teh PostUpdate link on the TheaterListing page it seems to be a bad link. Said in teh Wiki to tell you so I am Thanks for such an awesome program!!
I have been having some problems making GBPVR use the Nvidia pure video codecs. I'm not sure what is up. I can go straight into graphedit and render a saved file with no problems. The graph looks like the attched one. I know it is working on media player because it puts an icon in the tray for me. GBPVR does not put in the tray icon and no sound is played when the Nvidia codecs are explicitly selected. So, I checked the GBPVR logs. They look like this for viewing live TV:

I can't see any errors and it looks like it picked up the Nvidia codecs. So, now I try and look at the .grf files that are generated. Unfortunately, they give me an error and I can't open any of them. The error box is also attached.
I'm not sure what is up. The scheduler works great and I can always watch my shows with mediaplayer, but I would like to know how to make the whole package work. Any ideas?
Is there anyway to define wich channels Comskip schould run on in GB-PVR conf file ?
I have alot of channels where commercials is only seen between shows!
And then I would like to Un select them since comskip takes up alot of resources.
Ensure you have installed .NET Framework 2.0. It can probably be installed by accessing your Windows Update or you can follow this download link: Microsoft .NET Framework 2.0 Redistributable
About my use of GBPVR
I use GBPVR on a normal PC and only use the GBPVR interface for scheduling recordings. I watch all my recordings using PowerDVD. I wrote this because of always having to double-click the system tray icon to confirm what is actually recording at any given time.
For all details regarding current version, please see documentation which is installed alongside the utility and is available in the GBPVR start menu group.
Features
Customisable.
Lists next few pending recordings and allows you to cancel them.
Lists contents of your recordings folder and allows you to launch them directly. When you've finished watching them, you are asked if would like to delete the recording (it will move it to the recycle bin).
Can shutdown your computer when current recording session has finished.
Provides direct computer shutdown links.
Added warning to "restart recording service" option so recordings not accidentally wiped.
Can stop active recordings from right-click menu.
Much the same functionality as the current GBPVRTray but you do not have to double-click the icon to see what GBPVR is recording. Simply move the mouse over the icon and a balloon tip will appear with information.
You can launch "GBPVR" and "Config" from the right-click menu.
