I have been trying to get the plugin to work the past couple days to no avail. I have all the latest versions of DVD Decrypter, BeSweet, and mplex. I've searched the forums and tried the suggestions that I could find. I've uninstalled and reinstalled the plugin, made sure that the VApanel.xml file was in the panels folder, etc. Here are the lines from the log file that contain the error:

Looking for some opinions on what would best improve my system.

Currently I am running a 833Mhz P3/512MB with a PVR 150 and a MX4000 video card with TV out connected to my 32 inch SDTV. The operation has been very good with the exception of live TV (not preview mode). Pausing live TV is out of the question but everything else works well.

I would like to add an MVP and a second tuner to the system but am concerned that it may bog down. First question: Is this something to worry about???

The obvious option seems to be a hardware decoder so I can do one of two things:
Add a Xcard and another 150 for a total cost of $165
or
Add a PVR350 for a cost of $140.

Since the costs are similar I am looking for the best quality video with the smalled load on my CPU.

Any opinions, advice, or stories are appreciated. :p

As you may know by now I am a big fan of xrecord and use it all the time. I am a bit apprehensive about CDKScheduler and so dont use it but I use all other functionality. Perhaps an idiots guide to it may help me and others.

Anyway, I've had this particular problem for a while but only now got around to investigating it a bit more. The XRecord conflict screen regularly goes strange. Sometimes there are gaps at the top and conflicts are listed lower down, sometimes it does the attached 3 pictures. On the third you can see the edge of the white highlighted box on the right of the picture.

My question is, how is the conflict page supposed to work. I move the cursor left/right and the highlight moves by column. I have to press back/exit to go back to the menu where as on other screens I press left. Should I be able to resolve conflicts on this screen or perhaps set a preference of what I want recording i.e. make the red into green and vice versa.

Can anyone explain why I can't use this card with GBPVR? This card works with most other PVR software and is a widely used card.:eek:

Is it possible that GBPVR could detect the aspect ratio of the video it is streaming and adjust the display accordingly? I ended up mapping F7 to a spare key on my remote because I have to use it so often...

I have a channel named "Discovery Travel & Living"

and it seems as GBPVR does not like the "&" letter

if I set a channel in GBPVR config with & no EPG data is loaded

if I change in the XMLTV manually to "Discovery Travel and Living"

i.e. I change "&" to "and" and make this the channel name in GBPVR

- everything works and I get listings in TV guide

Anyone familiar with Serialization in C#? I'm trying to save a hash table of cinema lists / film lists for my UKCinemaListings plugin but running into problems.

What can and can't you do with Serialization? Ie if you serialize a hash table does it also serialize the objects/values in the hashtable?

I'm using the silver hauppauge remote with gbpvr. It works fine but after a few hours the remote gets slow and unresponsive. I have to hold the buttons down for a while to get it to work. If I reboot the system or reset the ir service it works fine again. Any ideas what would cause this?

My new PC has a TV card that supports:

Dual DVB-T
Dual DVB-S
Dual Analogue

Using the supplied software I can watch one channel whilst recording another.. or record from 2 different channels..

Is this possible with GB-PVR ?? How ??
