everything after the word error was just blah, blah, blah, yadda yadda yadda to me. Could you possibly translate?

For some reason unknown to me, the My Videos plugin stopped coming up when I run gbpvr. It just gets ignored..like its not there.... I looked around to see what might have happened and I see this in the logs..

Two questions: is this pathname correct with the double \\?

is this a problem? dont know what it means.

I've just recently started using comclean along with comskip to edit out the commercials, and for the first several shows I recorded comclean seemed to do an excellent job. But now I have noticed on the last several recordings, that when I try to play back the mpg file it runs into problems where the cuts were made. The picture freezes and the audio from after the cut continues for a few seconds, then everything stops altogether. If I manually advance beyond this point, everything is fine, so long as I skip ahead before it gets a chance to freeze.
By the way, I'm playing them back in windows media player, not sure if that makes a difference...

Is GB-PVR or a plugin for GB-PVR supports other protocols than shoutcast ?

Most existing commercial radios that broadcast on the net uses a FLASH player to do so. This system seems to be used very often:

I am in the process of researching what i need to build my own pvr. I haven't puchased my video card yet and would like to know what i need and what i should get. Thought that I could benefit from others out there who have already set theirs up. I will be hooking up to a starchoice reciever for the imput and will be running a 3.0 ghz, running xp with hyper threading, 915 chipset. I have searched the forums but have not found a list of things I will need for this to work. I have picked up on some things from the forums including the need for a usb-uirt to be able to change channels on my dish. Although i consider myself to be more that capable to get around and build or work on computers, I am self taught and cannot write any script.

I watch TV in the dark so I decided to make a comfortable low-light and primarily red skin for GB-PVR to make for a more comfortable experience. At the moment only the basic functions are supported because the machine I made this skin for is really only used for playback.


Feel free to edit or tweak whatever you need to for your particular setup.

GBPVR is, and has been working great. The only problem I seem to have is getting a number of "failed" recordings. All are recorded on Public Televisions stations and are programs such as "This old house" and " Ask this old house". I am using v0.94.13.

As with all releases, I recommend you backup your GB-PVR files before upgrading from a previous release.

Twinhan DVB device owners will need to upgrade to the lastest drivers (1.2.2.7 or higher for PCI, 1.0.4.1 or higher for USB), as Twinhan have changed the names of some of their driver components, and this release has been updated to reflect these new names.

You'll need to switch back to the defaut 'Blue' skin until the skin authors have a chance to update there skins for compatibility.

- Added a simple fade in/out animation for task images on the main menu screen. You can turn this off using the <AnimateTaskTransitions> setting in config.xml. You can also adjust how fast the transition occurs using the <AnimationStepCount> setting.
- Genre and rating information is now imported for zap2it/xmltv/dvb EPG source options if available. Those upgrading from previous version will need to do an 'empty epg' first to force the EPG information to be loaded'.
- A few minor changes to the TV Guide screen, using some of the ideas I liked from XGuide:

- Added a setting to use FFmpeg for transcoding AVI files for playback on the MVP. This is installed with the GB-PVR installation.
- PVR350 owners should now be able to play AVI (divx/xvid) files. This is done using on the fly transcoding to MPEG2, so you need a fair bit of CPU grunt for this to work smoothly.
- Most people were unaware of the hidded free text search option in previous versions, so I've added a free text search box to the main search screen.
- Possibly now supports DVB-C. Not tested.
- Will auto detect changes to background.jpg and reload it for main menu.

I had some problems with things getting unstable, and finally did a fresh install (kept my old database) on Monday. Everything seemed fine, but starting on Wednesday evening the recordings all seem to have problems. The file sizes for the recordings are smaller, and the time bar on 1-hour shows have a max time of 45 minutes. The recordings seem to be skipping (like the sampling rate is too slow, everything is moving too fast) and the audio gets more out of sync as you go further into the recording.

I can't think of anything I might have changed, I always record at the default medium bit rate.

What can I check or look for?

It'd be handy to have a "Go To" text box - where you can type 32:00 and click "OK" and it'd "fast forward" to minute 32 of the currently playing stream.

I often have problems with the mpeg streams that have been recorded - which seems to result in my RW button working as a FFW button only. The Go To button would alleviate this problem (and be handy when you've already watched half a program and other situations etc).

How about a button (say one of the colour buttons) - that you can press as soon as you see the ads (in livetv or normal mode) - which just chooses random MP3's from a chosen folder and replaces the sound of the video until you press the button again? ie. It suppresses the advertising drone, but you're still left with the video so you know when to turn the sound back on.... Similar to "MUTE"... but not

GBPVR is cool btw.
