Yesterday I got my new Fusion Lite 5 card. It worked right out of the box, the included software (FusionHDTV) is pretty decent. I was amazed at the quality of HDTV, I have a 50 DLP TV connected to my computer. However, when I added it to GB-PVR, I was a little disappointed. I had to try few things, but I finally have a working setup (Zulu player, Cyberlink Audio decorder, MS DVR-MS mux). I have not tried other muxes based on feedback in this forum. However, I have some issues:
1- While channel changing in FusionHDTV is almost immediate, it takes at least 10 seconds in GB-PVR
2- My computer crashes sometimes when GB-PVR is trying to tune a HD channel. I suspect this is a Fusion SW issue, rather than GB-PVR ( I am using ver. 3.12 that came with the card)
3- CPU (2 GHz) utilization in FusionHDTV is at worst 70% while watching TV. It is always 100% in GB-PVR during live TV. SD in GB-PVR is less than 20%
4- Timeshifting with HD in GB-PVR is choppy, and is not watchable. However, it is watchable in FusionHDTV
5- Recording in FusionHDTV (either in mpeg or stream transport) is clean and has no stutter, not the case with GB-PVR recording (DVR-MS)
6- Using Zulu decorder (as opposed to Cyberlink) it plays everything in wide screen (16:9) Something I avoided doing until now by using Cyberlink decorder which figures out the aspect ratio correctly (overlay mode) no need for constantly changing aspect ratios.
This is more of an aspect ratio problem and I know many people complained about ( I hope Sub is making some improvements in the next release like setting a default aspect ratio, and interpretting the correct one)
GB-PVR, of course, is a great piece of software. I was wondering if there are ways for me to improve my HD experience and make it as good as the SD one. I hate to have to switch back and forth between Fusion and GB-PVR, I know it will not be acceptable by my wife
Error: Method not found: System.TimespanHundredsMileSoftware.UltraID3lib.UltraID3.get_duration()
That is the error I get when I go into MyMusic and attempt to open any album. After I hit ok.
It takes me to the main menu were I try to go back into MyMusic although this time I can't even get into MyMusic and it gives me this error
Error: Object reference not set to an instance of an Object.
The only thing I can think of is that I may have replaced something in the gbpvr folder that had a name similiar to the first error. UltraID3 something, maybe. I did that when I installed Music player I believe. I also believe the error is related to getting the durations of songs. Any thoughts?
Thanks in advance.
Btw: everything was working fine before I replaced that file on the install of music player.
with my PVR350 , (and NO tv-out, just software decoding), the applications freezes right away if I press ctrl+f or ctrl+right arrow while watching a video. What's that, and how can I fix this?
I have a Hauppauge pvr-150mce. For recording analog channels I'm using the built in tuner as a source, no problem at all. My TV has a digital tuner in it, which I can use to receive digital channels and output them through s-video into the Hauppauage 150 to record. I also have TVGUIDEOS on my TV to automatically tell the TV to start sending video from a certain digital channel at a certain time to the PVR-150. So, am I setting it up correctly? Here is what I've done:
- My zaptoit account has both analog and digital program information selected
- I have 2 capture sources, the pvr-150 tuner and the pvr-150 s-video input
- For my tuner capture source's EPG, I've checked everything except for the digital channels
- For my s-video capture source's EPG, I've checked ONLY the digital channels
So now, when I create a schedule to record a digital channel via GBPVR, will it automatically select the s-video input as the recording source? And also, when I schedule a recording for an analog channel, will it automatically use the analog tuner as the input source?
On my recordings encoded to Xvid in GB-PVR there is a little icon in the upper right corner with 9 squares with a circle in the upper right one. Has anyone else experienced this problem and how did you fix it? Thanks.
OK, I'm about to uninstall this stupid program and use a commercial one. This is the FIFTH time this has happened. If I close the gbpvr application, and then restart it, the database gets OVERWRITTEN, and all the recorded shows are no longer recognized, and the channel info is GONE!!
If I restore the dbase, the channels are back, but the backup mdb is older than some recordings, so the thing says that the newer recordings have FAILED. The same thing happens if I simply go into the config settings and manually update the channel listings.
Just when you thought it was safe to go back in the water - SuDoku comes to GB-PVR.
OK, this is a pretty basic implementation. I'm teaching myself C# and playing with plugins is a fun way of doing it. It has no frills and only one level of difficulty. The skin.xml file was taken from the main menu skin so has a load of unnecessary stuff in it. The grid generator algorithm is slightly flawed and could be improved on. Controls are arrow keys, number keys and Esc to leave the screen. Use '0' to clear a square if you need to.
Copy the dll to your plugins folder
Create a folder called SuDoku in the skin folder that you use, e.g., ...\skin\Blue\SuDoku
Copy the skin.xml file to the above folder
Start Config and tick the box for the SuDoku plugin to add it to your main menu.
For those of you in some remote part of the world where the newspapers aren't yet obsessed with Su Doku puzzles , the rules are...
Each row, column and individual 3x3 grid must contain the numbers 1 to 9. There can be no repetition of a number in any row, column or 3x3 grid.
If people like it I'll consider putting a level selector in and possibly a timer and perhaps save/load game option.
Note - Only tested with Blue skin. Not tested on MVP.
