  Remote Control wire extention
Posted by: Big Stan - 2005-11-15, 09:52 PM - Forum: Hardware - Replies (2)

First the good news. I've got my first PVR up and running in my basement. Everything went according to the book and works great. My plan is to locate the PC in my basement directly below my living room TV and run the cables up through the floor. I have 12' S-video and audio cables to make the connention but the cable on the IR receiver for the hauppauge remove is only a couple of feet long and won't reach.

Is there any reason I can't just cut the wires on the receiver and splice in an some extention wire? Has anyone done this?

I am gussing that there are RF remotes out there that would work also but would cost a few $$.

Thanks for any help anyone can send.

Need help getting started with hauppauge wintv go plus
Posted by: vifa84 - 2005-11-15, 09:13 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (1)

I have a hauppauge wintv go non-hardware encoding card. Cheap $50 variety and I'm not sure if it will work or not. I do not see the card or do not recognize it in the available list. I've tried to choose different ones but when I import the channels and they show up under configure, they don't show up when clicking the guide under the main program. It tells me the channels are not set up and to return to configuration.

Any help?

  SearchGuide Not Functioning
Posted by: bemoore - 2005-11-15, 09:07 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (9)

First off, let me say how impressed I am with this program. I've only had it working for about 24 hrs, but it's taken my PVR to a new level of functionality. But my problems is with the SearchGuide. When I select it from the main menu, the screen briefly appears and then quickly goes back to the main menu. I did a search on these forums but didn't find anything like this. What would cause this? I have a PVR-350 using the TV out, and I'm using Zap2It.

Thanks.

  Comclean Question
Posted by: nightwalker - 2005-11-15, 07:54 PM - Forum: Old Stuff (Legacy) - Replies (8)

Since i can't get GBpvr to reliabilly auto skip over commercials i've been playing with Comclean. I've gotten it to run, seems ok. makes what i thought were the approaite files. that being said.

In the directory for a recording there are four files

recording_20051115_12301330.log
recording_20051115_12301330.mpg
recording_20051115_12301330.txt
recording_20051115_12301330_original.mpg

This all seemed fine to me with one exception I'm using the Video Archiver Plugin and instead of playing the cleaned file, it's playing the original file, the one with the commercials still in it. I doesn't even show the the file i'd like it to play even though it's there in the driectory and named correctly.

Am i doing something wrong here or do i need to run rename as well or is there something i need to do to the video archiver plug?

Help! Smile

  Size of GBPVR.MDB
Posted by: ww4397 - 2005-11-15, 06:55 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (12)

Hi,

My gbpvr.mdb is about 186MB. I'm wondering if that is a reasonable size? I'm keeping about 14 days of channel lineups on my system. My gbpvr.old file is about 15MB and I thought that was supposed to be a copy of gbpvr.mdb. Something about the 186MB vs. 15MB seems suspicious to me.

Any thoughts are welcome.

Thanks.

Continued difficulties setting up Twinhan DVB - T
Posted by: wadeall - 2005-11-15, 06:19 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (8)

Thanks to sub's sugestion I have now reregistered the Microsoft demultiplexer that Twinhan seems to deregister.

Unfortunately I'm still having difficulties.

When I get to Capture Sources>Map Digital Chanels to EPG Chanels I get a box saying that the Digital Chanel mapping is Initializing then a an error message :
GB-PVR was unable to start the BDA device you have configured. Check the device is configured properly , and not already in use. (Reason: Failed to nlocate configured BDA capture device.) When I press OK i get a Microsoft Visual C++ debug Library saying that my debug assertion has failed.

Any idea what I could be doing wrong? The TV card is installed and workingproperly on a stand alone basis and I closed it before trying to set up GB-PVR.

Any helpful suggestions gratefully received

Wade

  aspect ratio
Posted by: compdoc - 2005-11-15, 05:27 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - No Replies

the gbpvr window can be resized, but it allows you to distort the heck out of the image. Is the anyway to force it to keep the aspect ratio?
Or is there a way to reset the window to its original, correct aspect ratio?

MVP Crash when skipping past end of recording in progress
Posted by: Major Hostility - 2005-11-15, 05:00 PM - Forum: MVP & NMT - Replies (10)

I was watching a show last night that was still recording and had two instances where the MVP crashed when it caught up with the end of the stream. I'm running v94.13 with comskip set to run after the recording is complete so it hadn't run yet.

The first crash occurred after pressing the skip forward button:

request for information regarding nagravision plugin
Posted by: rocketjock - 2005-11-15, 03:39 PM - Forum: Developers - Replies (2)

Hi, Well I understand that the core engine code is not available, I was hoping there would be an interface that would allow us to integrate s2emu into the engine to support decryption. I know I can do it with dvbcore, but as the core engine here is unknown, I was wondering if the developer would at least provide some hooks so we can make s2emu happen....

thanks
RJ
