I am investigating the posibility for Comskip to work on DVB.
Many digital TV cards record in mpeg transport stream format and I do not have access to these streams.
PM me if comeone is willing to upload a 100MByte mpeg TS recording to my ftp server.
Hello from a GBPVR newbie. Running .94.13 on Win 2K Server using a Pinnacle PCTV Deluxe US2 2.0 device. Everything is working fine except the ability to change quality settings for a recording. No matter which setting I choose when setting up a recording (regardless of any changes I make in the "standard" settings) I get a recording of 6000 Kbps/2.5 gig an hour/720x480. Odd thing (to me is that any changes I make to audio settings bitrates show up in the recording) but the video bitrate is always the same.
I've searched around the forums and it seems that sub has that function working pretty well. I'm wondering if it might be a problem related directly to my Pinnacle Deluxe?
So I was setting up a HTPC setup using MediaMVP for the first time and I was dead set on using SageTV to run it. I thought that I would just install GB-PVR to work out all the kinks and then install SageTV.
Instead it turns out that GB-PVR well exceeded my expectations and I'm finding myself struggling for a reason to stop using GB-PVR and move to SageTV. It has worked so great out of the box! The only compelling reasons to move were the ability to search for programs by genre (which I think the XRecord plugin will solve) and suggestions (which I don't think I saw a plugin for). Still I don't think those reasons are enough pay $80+ and to tear me away from GB-PVR.
Just wondering where you get your DVD's cheap in NZ, or if you import most of them like me?
Do most of you buy them from a shop, or online?
I can't remember the last time I brought a DVD from a shop. I get annoyed that they take them out of the case and put them in those BS paper or plastic envelops, only to have them get small scratches all over them.
Just curious as I'm always looking for a cheap local supplier.
is it possible to enable the *system* screensaver in gbpvr? specifically i would like it to launch during inactivity when nothing is playing *and* when audio is playing. obviously, if video were playing you wouldn't want a screensaver to pop on. sound weird? here is why i ask:
as mentioned earlier, gbpvr does not have a visualization built in *but* there are some really nice screensaver visualizations out there (like geiss) that would work great if they could be launched after a preset amount of inactivity when music is playing or when in a menu. would be a nice quick fix for the visualization complaint without actually having to code it.
I had to delete and re-add my capture source in the GBPVR config. Now the Ready list is empty in XRecord. Is there a way to update this list so that my previously recorded shows appear? Thanks.
After much research I have came up the final BOM for my GB-PVR machine. I would appreciate any critiquesâ¦did I miss something, or have incompatible components?
Main Board: Gigbyte GAK8NF-9
Plan on using on board 7.1 Audio with the included S/PDIF coax out
Main HDD: 80GB Barracuda 7200.7 SATA drive (for OS and Live TV Buffer)
Storage HDD: 300GB Barracuda 7200.8 SATA drive for video storage
DVD drive: Sony DVD +/- RW
Hauppauge PVR 150 & PVR-150MCE tuners
The one question I have on the above guts is the video card. I have a 54 inch Mitsubishi RP HDTV with 1 DTV input (480p/I & 1080i) & 2 component (480p / 480i) inputs. Currently I use the DTV for the Comcast HDTV box and one of the Components for the DVD player. I really donât want to hook the HTPC up with S-video. Some sites claim the eVGA card does output Component. I havenât been able to confirm how one hooks it up as I donât have a DVI connector on the Mitsubishi.
For the case & power supply I am torn between the following:
Uneed X15e with integrated LCD touchscreen (SWEEET!)
Silverstone SST-400 400 watt
Case & PSU: $647.00
Or
Ahanix MCE 601
Athena 450W MAXT with adaptor plate
Case & PSU: $280.00
Anyone have experience to help me decide? The 367 bucks isnât a deal breaker, just not sure itâs functionally worth it.
Thanks All!
Steve
I was dubbing a 2 part episode of star trek from vhs. it split the movie into 2 files? I started playing one and the other disappeared. Why did it not record the whole movie to one file. Its not drive space there is tons of room available (100gb). Is there some way to fix this? any suggestions?
