  Multiple recording sources problem
Posted by: borgs5 - 2005-11-13, 11:26 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (2)

Hi,

Could someone please tell me whether the following should work properly:

One PVR 150 card.
Two recording sources - a Telewest box connected to the tuner input via coax and a Sky box connected via composite.
TV guides for both are coming from Bleb - different channels for each source.

I find that, although the recordings seem to work so far, that only the second sources TV guide gets updated. When I looked at the first (original) sources bleb listings I found that the channels listed were from the second source. It's like the Bleb setup is shared between the two.

Thanks

Comskip 0.78 build 2: Better heuristics
Posted by: erik - 2005-11-13, 10:37 AM - Forum: Community Announcements - Replies (19)

After beta testing the new versions seems OK. Download from http://mk.kaashoek.com/gbpvr/comskip78_2.zip

Take notice of the last statement in the change list. You may have to do some retuning, but you also can experience some nice improvements.

Changes in 0.78.02
- Solved a bug where setting a new 'b'eginning of a commercial the written cutpoint was 10 frames earlier
- Solved a bug where after editing the cutpoints all output formats that where in time instead of frames could be wrong.
- Change the format of the TXT file to include the framerate to solve the bug above.
- Solved a bug where the output files where cleared if no 'w' was used when reviewing the .txt file.
Changes in 0.78.01
- Writing a new cutlist writes all selected output files instead of only the txt file
- Substantial changes to heuristics.

  New Hauppage drivers
Posted by: fhmanas - 2005-11-13, 09:21 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (1)

Hi, this might not be the right venue but just would like to know if anybody has downloaded and installed the latest drivers from the hauppage site for the PVR500s. Does anybody know what was changed or improved? Don't want to install it if I don't have to.

Thanks.

  GBPVR always in sleep mode
Posted by: 314 - 2005-11-13, 06:13 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (11)

I am probably missing something so this may be a stupid question... I installed the latest version, configured using the defaults, set up the EPG using zap2it. I am using a Hauppauge PVR250 with the cable directly connected to it. Whenever i start GBPVR, the status always says it is sleeping and I can not get beyond this point where I can actually use GBPVR.

Any help would be appreciated.

Can MVP play AVI or WMV files?
Posted by: writebac - 2005-11-13, 05:25 AM - Forum: MVP & NMT - Replies (3)

Hi Forum,

When I try and play AVI files or WMV files over MVP I get a error that pops up on my PVR computer screen. On the MVP the screen shows what is playing in the bottom of the screen and the main screen goes blank.
Any way I can resolve this problem other than converting my AVI's to MPEG?

Thanks in advance for the forums help,

Can't here music when playing a fm station
Posted by: writebac - 2005-11-13, 05:21 AM - Forum: MVP & NMT - Replies (1)

Hi Forum,

Here is the problem I have. The computer will play music as my PVR-150MCE has a FM tuner in it as well. I can play music all day long, but when I try doing it through the MVP I get nothing coming out of the TV speakers. I also noticed that the ICON on the computer says its playing FM music. Can anyone help me clear this problem up?

Thanks in advance to the forum,

New Toy for my GBPVR System...
Posted by: Pilot - 2005-11-13, 04:49 AM - Forum: General Discussion - Replies (15)

Now my GBPVR is going portable -- I picked up a Creative Zen Portable Media Center player. Now I can just sync my show recordings from GBPVR over to the Creative Zen PMC, and watch it wherever.

Actually, it's a Christmas present for my son, but I'm sure he'll be wanting me to copy some shows over to it for him. My entire family is jumping on the GBPVR bandwagon these days.

Anyway, I thought some of you who like these types of toys may want to know about it because you can get a really good deal on them now since they're being phased out. I bought mine from Buy.com for only $189 with free shipping. It's normally $449, but they had an instant $10 rebate and a $250 mail-in rebate. That is definitely the biggest rebate I've received on anything that wasn't a car!

Anyway, my fellow gadget geeks might want to check it out. I'm still going to be using my Palm device for watching videos in portable fashion, but this Creative Zen PMC is a pretty nifty device -- plays MP3s, videos, store pictures, and can even be used as a portable USB drive (20GB total).
