I have had my setup running well with just a 250 for a long time. I added a 350 to my computer, and set it up as board 2. Now when I start a recording both boards record the same show. One of the recording is good, the other leaves an mpg file about 200KB in size and is unviewable.
At this point I removed the pvr350 capture source. I still get the same result, two video files (one good, one bad).
One thing I wish is if there was a way to exit from a playback and have GBPVR remember where I left off. When going back to a recording, either select (Play) or maybe a new button (Resume) ?
Bringing up the display on the MediaMVP only shows it for a few seconds. Any way to keep the display up until I hit the button on the Hauppauge remote again?
I also wish there was a way to playback at 2x, 4x, 8x, etc.
Running 94.12 and using an MVP. Sometimes when recording and I try to watch the recording from the beginning, all I get is a black screen. Anyone else have this experience?
I just setup My Videos and all the utils to burn shows to DVD. It does step 1 fine but then I just checked the system and it's showing a white screen with a red X across the screen. The system still responds and the mouse moves, I can get into start menu. It's been there for about 45 min and the HDD light is still flashing. Is this normal? Thanks!
I have a room that I just can't get CAT 5 to for a MVP. I really don't want to do the wireless bridge route so I am still looking for ideas. I have run across some posts talking about using modulators to send the signal over coax. This sounds good if I can get it to work. I do not know much about them and am looking for any general info. I would be interested in hearing how people use them with GBPVR. Can you just plug your RCA cables from the Video and Audio out on the PC or MVP into it and then coax cable it into the house system? Part of me thinks this would work if you sent it out on an open channel, or do I have to do something more sophisticated?
I think this type of solution would also work to have the same recording showing on more than 1 TV at a time. Now, with multiple MVP's they are not in sync and the sound drives you crazy.
I am using BlueMCE2 as it is my favorite skin. However, it does display xRecord well. A part of the screen in the bottom is missing, and not all recordings are displayed. It works well in other skins.
I bought myself a couple speedy new hard drives and reinstalled windows and gbpvr, but I am having an odd problem. When I playback my recordings I cannot change the aspect ratio (via F7) and when I pause, the display that shows the progress bar where I am in the show/movie does not pop up. Comskip is generating it's files, but I cannot use it either.
The only thing I changed when I put in the new hard drives is that while I was using win xp pro before, now I am using win xp home.
I must have done something different in the configuration before, or forgot to install something. If anybody has any suggestions, it would be greatly appreciated.
Hi all,
I'm a new user of this brilliant piece of software, but I've got some (configuration?) problems.
Whenever I'm using GBPVR in LiveTv mode, I could not change the channel via the numbers on my remote or the numbers on the keyboard. I've already searched the forum for this problem and I found that the common solution was to press the OK button on the remote or to press Enter from the keyboard, but in my case this doesn't help. Whenever I press some number it appears on the program window and when I press Enter, nothing happens - the channel stays.
What is the problem?
I've got Hauppauge PVR 150, WinXP SP2, GBPVR 0.9413. I'm not using EPG, 'cause there are no listings for my country .
Any help will be appreciated!
Hi,
Hope someone can help me with this, and that it's not too long. I've read forums (and googled), and have partially solved my initial problem, but have left ANSWER1 in case it is useful. Now I'm not sure what to try, and have no previous experience with this stuff. (Wiki hasn't been available today, but I didn't see any google links to it)
In summary, my problem is that using GB-PVR I have trouble after changing channels. I think that a consistent symptom is a snippet of looping video/audio, though the exact conditions seem to vary depending on whether it's a radio/non-radio channel, and whether I'm using TV/PC
Thanks, Mark
In more detail, here are some observations. It is "ANSWER2" that I need help with :
-----------------------------------------------------------
1. After selecting "LiveTV" from the menu, the screen is blank for a couple of seconds, then sometimes I get a 'blocky' picture for a couple of seconds, then it goes back to the menu. I get the same thing when selecting a programme from the EPG to play live, and when trying to replay recorded TV. I do get a small green&white "play" icon. [All of these are on the TV, rather than on PC, which worked ok though was sometimes jerky]
ANSWER1 : Needed to select the new mux that I installed (Cyberlink) from the dropdown menu in GB-PVR Configuration -> Misc (instead of Microsoft DVR-MS). Video is still blocky for the first 10 seconds or so
2. When selecting a radio station from the PC EPG, to play, I get an error window :
=========================
GBPVRRecordingService.exe
"Application has encountered a user-defined breakpoint
Process id=0x698(1688), Thread id=0xf5c(3932)"
=========================
I don't have a debugger, and clicking "Ignore" gave me a window saying :
=========================
"Error: Object reference not set to an instance of an object"
=========================
Selecting a 2nd subsequent radio station gave the same error. Selecting a subsequent TV station was ok (in the sense that the GB icon said it was recording LiveTV), but I had no video nor audio unless I restarted the GB-PVR application
Selecting a radio station from the TV EPG does work, though there seems to be an early snippet that loops and keeps interrupting. This seems to be from the current channel, unless I went there from a non-radio channel, in which case it is a 3 second snippet of the old channel (video + audio)
If I went to 2 radio channels and then a non-radio channel, then the application had to be closed :
=========================
"GBPVRRecordingService.exe has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience
Error signature :
szAppName : GBPVRRecordingService.exe
szAppVer : 1.0.2093.28460
szModName : MpgMux.ax
szModVer : 5.0.0.727
offset : 00018fcc"
=========================
...and in fact I had to reboot, because the GB icon still said it was recording LiveTV (radio), and the error message on the TV was :
=========================
"Failed to communicate with the recording service"
=========================
I also got the same GBPVRRecordingService.exe error when I went to 3 non-radio channels in succession, in which case there was a snippet of channel 2 looping (and channel 3 was never seen/ heard). However, when I did this via the PC EPG it seemed ok (but hard to test much, as there seem to be only 3 working non-radio channels in the EPG)
I did also get a "No tuners are available...etc" error window while I was testing, but can't remember the conditions that produced it, so am ignoring it at the moment
ANSWER2 :
(3. My EPG shows no programmes for a large bloc of channels. That seems odd. Doubt it's connected to the issue, but does mean I have few non-radio channels to test with)
(4. WinTV2000 no longer gives video nor audio, even if I shut down the GB-PVR server. I assume this is correct)

Windows XP Pro SP2. Shuttle SD31P; Pentium4 3GHz; 1GB RAM. Hauppauge Media MVP (D3A). Hauppauge Nova-T USB2
External aerial in a good (analogue) terrestrial TV reception area
When I connect to the PC via laptop (over MS Remote Desktop Connection), I get the message "This system does not appear to support VMR9. Please try a different renderer" ...even though I have the same .NET and DirectX and quartz.dll software installed (see below)
The PC also has a (Slim Devices) Slimserver running on it, but stopping that doesn't seem to make any difference to my problem
My LAN connections are currently wired, but I intend to have a wireless (802.11g) link between the PC and MVP in future
