I am probably missing something so this may be a stupid question... I installed the latest version, configured using the defaults, set up the EPG using zap2it. I am using a Hauppauge PVR250 with the cable directly connected to it. Whenever i start GBPVR, the status always says it is sleeping and I can not get beyond this point where I can actually use GBPVR.

Any help would be appreciated.

When I try and play AVI files or WMV files over MVP I get a error that pops up on my PVR computer screen. On the MVP the screen shows what is playing in the bottom of the screen and the main screen goes blank.
Any way I can resolve this problem other than converting my AVI's to MPEG?

Hi Forum,

Here is the problem I have. The computer will play music as my PVR-150MCE has a FM tuner in it as well. I can play music all day long, but when I try doing it through the MVP I get nothing coming out of the TV speakers. I also noticed that the ICON on the computer says its playing FM music. Can anyone help me clear this problem up?

Now my GBPVR is going portable -- I picked up a Creative Zen Portable Media Center player. Now I can just sync my show recordings from GBPVR over to the Creative Zen PMC, and watch it wherever.

Actually, it's a Christmas present for my son, but I'm sure he'll be wanting me to copy some shows over to it for him. My entire family is jumping on the GBPVR bandwagon these days.

Anyway, I thought some of you who like these types of toys may want to know about it because you can get a really good deal on them now since they're being phased out. I bought mine from Buy.com for only $189 with free shipping. It's normally $449, but they had an instant $10 rebate and a $250 mail-in rebate. That is definitely the biggest rebate I've received on anything that wasn't a car!

Anyway, my fellow gadget geeks might want to check it out. I'm still going to be using my Palm device for watching videos in portable fashion, but this Creative Zen PMC is a pretty nifty device -- plays MP3s, videos, store pictures, and can even be used as a portable USB drive (20GB total).

Every now and then, new channels get added to my setup and are automatically added to my channel lineup. This screws up my dish network box setup, and I have to delete them manually. I checked my account on zap2it, and apparently they get added there. I am not sure why that happens (it is unique to Sat channels), but then GB-PVR adds them when the guide is updated. Any ideas around this strange behavior?

That would be nice to have something while playing music. I noticed Milkdrop isn't but a Winamp plugin, but who knows? The author worked with the XBMC team to add support. Since it's already on PC, it would be less work to add as a generic plugin. Or any kind of visualization for that matter if not Milkdrop.

well its been ages since ive done anything on this, and to be honest i forgot where i was at, so im releasing the last version i worked just to see where the bugs are, and what is missing.

so be warned, this may not work at all

theres a seperate file called "MyMusicDBLoader.exe" running this will read your config.xml file (so "MyMusicDBLoader.exe" must be in your gbpvr root directory) and look at the virtual root for the music dirs you have specified. it will then go thru all those dirs and add any known music file to the database. you must do this to get it to work since its just using a database for your music now and nothing else (well audio cds work aswell, but thats it).

let me know if it works, or if it doesnt (i hope the skin still works.....)

Not sure if this is the best place to ask, sorry if it isn't.

Anyway, been using GBPVR for a couple of weeks now and I think its great. I've been using a Hauppauge Nova-t 90002 to watch TV and that works pretty well. Today I bought another Nova-t because they were being sold half price.

So I stuck this in my computer, but now I can't figure out how to get this setup.
Upon rebooting windows I got no new hardware detection message, and looking under the hardware settings shows one card working fine. So I fiddled around trying to get 2 working in GBPVR anyway, which didn't work, but made me realise that the new card seems to be being used instead of the old one for watching live Tv / recordings.

Anyway, looking round the forums I've found a few posts about using more than 1 tuner, but havn't figured much out yet.

My question is, should 2 cards show up in windows hardware profile? If so, then what could be wrong? If not, then how do I go about setting up 2 cards in GB-PVR?

Other info which might help. I did try setting up 2 sources in GB-PVR, tried setting both as device 1, then one as 1 the other as 2. I testing by watching live tv on my computer and then trying to watch live tv on my MVP.(which brings up a message saying no tuners are available). I'm using Windows XP and both cards are Nova-T 90002.

In configuration of GBPVR under DVD Remote section, are there any suggestions on what settings work best with this remote?
Some of the buttons don't work some do. Can't rewind a recorded video and when watching dvd's many of the controls don't work.:confused:

I was woundering if the card I have will work with GBPVR?

I have a Conexants bt 878 card. w/ a Philips tuner.

I have tryed a number of setups with out success.. Any help would be greatfull.

If this card will not work, is there a suggested card to use?
