I am looking at adding a DVB-S PCI card to my GBPVR setup which at present only has a PVR150. After checking out the WIKI and forums (including this thread http://forums.nextpvr.com/showthread.php?t=7815&page=1 ) Where TwinHan seem to be a good recommendation and available at a very reasonable prices. However the first place I look http://www.satonline.co.uk/shop/products...94f61a0b4d has two different apparently suitable TwinHan cards available. A “TwinHan Vision DTV Sat-Express” and a “TwinHan Vision DTV Sat 1022A “ which visually look completely different but spec wise seem almost identical apart from a remote control I don’t need. Not bothered by any provided software as will be using GBPVR. I want to buy the same as other people have had good success using GBPVR with so which one are people using / recommending, if there is any difference?

The TwinHan site http://www.twinhan.com/product_satellite.asp seems at present to have the wrong info against the 1022A as it talks about a CI slot, so not helpful in comparing specs.

It isn't working on my laptop, but is on desktop. It's been a while since I wanted to use it on my laptop, so I'm not sure exactly when the problem began, but when I try to open the main program GBPVR it gives me the error message "this system does not appear to support VMR9, please try a different renderer."

The only thing I can think of that has changed on my laptop that hasn't on my desktop is that I recently did a Windows update that included .net 2.0, as opposed to the 1.1 that gbpvr requires be installed. Is that the culprit?

This is an amended post, based on the problem I had in thread http://forums.nextpvr.com/showthread.php?t=10502 ("Newbie help?] : Trouble with snippet of looping video?"). I hope that's ok protocol for this list

In summary, my problem is that using GB-PVR I usually have to reboot after every channel change on my TV (or at least restart the GB-PVR server, and the GB-PVR recording service icon in my system tray)

The cause seems to be a snippet of video (the final few seconds from the 'previous' channel) that loops and doesn't allow the new channel to play. It also brings up an error message on my PC (when changing channels on TV)

Any help/ pointers gratefully accepted

I use a Hauppauge MVP. I get the 2 to 3s video loop and error message however I change channel ...ie :

1. The "Ch" button, or
2. The EPG via the "Guide" button, or
3. The EPG via the "Menu" button

The 'crash' usually happens if total sequence of channels is >1 (ie. zero successful channel changes)

I have had a sequence of 2 channels (ie. 1 change). That happened when I let the original channel (BBC3) play for a longer period, of ~3 minutes. I successfully changed to BBC4 (seeing it on screen) and left that for a similar length of time; but the next intended change of channel (BBC1) gave the usual error message

While BBC3 played on screen, the 'BBC3'.mpg file kept growing in my video directory ...to ~112MB

While BBC4 played on screen, the 'BBC4'.mpg file kept growing. The 'BBC3'.mpg file did not change in size, and the GB icon in my system tray said that Nova-T was recording 'BBC3'

After the 2nd attempted change (and crash), there were 3 files in the directory : 'BBC3'.mpg (112,000kB); 'BBC4'.mpg (120,000kB); and 'BBC1'.mpg (0kB)

When I use VMR9/7 it just not show up at all.... If I use Overlay Manager then when it shows up I cannot see the TV (its all black except the mini guide), any idea?

I am using Winfast PVR2000 with ATi Radeon 9250.

Does GB-PVR wakes up my PC for recording if I put it in hibernation?

Have you guys seen a problem with stuttering video in the latest release?

It seems like a network issue but I've changed out my ethernet cable and I'm still having the problem... I'm using the famous linksys router WRTG45. Is there anyway to tell if my mediamvp is running at 10 mB or 100? Is it a software issue perhaps? Is anyone else having this problem?

I just bought and installed an hauppauge pvr150 mce and installed gbpvr on my win xp prof sp2 machine.

I have sound on live tv and when I use timeshifting, but when I play my recordings, there is no sound.

Any ideas ?

Hehe I tried this program- its awesome! I love it so much (well still have a bit glitches, but afterall its a very good program for PVR).

However, as my title stated... I have a PVR2000 remote... seems I have no way to get it work with GB-PVR (I want to get my parents able to use that ), any progress so far?

Hey, I set up the automatic Xvid encode on my GB-PVR install. It works pretty well, except the fact that I still see some artifacts from interlacing in my videos. How can I make it so that these artifacts won't appear in the Xvids?

Before I ask for more, I would just like to say that GBPVR is great......

Here in the UK, some of the TV channels only transmit at certain times of the day. I think some even share a multiplex frequency. Problem is, the channel has to be active for GBPVR to find the channel during a scan. Scanning with Hauppauge WinTV always finds all the channels, at any time of the day, as does the DVB digibox on my TV. I don't understand the technicalities, but all the information must be available at all times.

Just a wish.
