  multiple tuners
Posted by: donbrew - 2019-12-17, 12:33 AM - Forum: Linux - Replies (7)

I seem to be missing the trick.  I have a Hauppauge hvr-1250 and a hvr-1600.  Each works fine when installed by itself; nothing works if both are installed.  I can scan one tuner for either ATSC or QAM but the scan will not start on the second tuner.

This is the latest logs, I can't figure how to delete the other attachment.[attachment=354]

Cannot access NextPVR server after internet service change
Posted by: tskdrk - 2019-12-17, 12:05 AM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - Replies (5)

Hi,
After switching internet providers (Fios to Xfinity) I can no longer access NextPVR from any of my frontend units or web browser.
Kodi addon fails to load.

Only change was Modem/Router and IP address.
Had to update HDHomerun boxes also.

Backend is still working/recording.

I tried temporarily disabling firewall but still no luck.

Not sure what else to try?

Thanks for any help!

Web interface, can't select country or region
Posted by: geojonesiv - 2019-12-16, 08:47 PM - Forum: Linux - Replies (16)

I've installed NextPVR 5.01 on two different Raspberry Pi's (a 3b and a 4), no errors or issues installing.  My WinTV-dualHD shows up under Settings/Devices.  But there is only a short list of "Scan Digital Channels" country/regions and I can't figure out how to select my area, which is US AZ Phoenix.

The list just seems to need to be updated somehow.  Here is my complete list:

us-PA-Philadelphia
ca-ON-Toronto
us-ATSC-center-frequencies-8VSB
us-ATSC-center-frequencies-8VSB-062009
us-CA-Mountain-View
us-CA-San-Jose
us-CA-SF-Bay-Area
us-CO-Denver
us-ID-Boise
us-MA-Boston
us-MI-Lansing
us-NTSC-center-frequencies
us-PA-Philadelphia

I'm sure I'm missing something easy as I can't find any info on this anywhere....  Thanks for any help.

Generate missing thumbnails for video files imported into NextPVR
Posted by: Jimixter - 2019-12-16, 07:28 PM - Forum: Community Announcements - No Replies

I am a new user of NextPVR, and am very relieved to finally have found a suitable replacement for Windows Media Centre (WMC), with Microsoft support for Windows 7 ceasing in January. Thank you for providing this great alternative!

Whilst NextPVR has been successful in retrieving thumbnails and artwork for some of my library, there are many other files which it has not been able to for some reason.

I am using the TV Listings plug-in in NextPVR, which makes use of thumbnail image files found in the same directory as the video files. To create the missing image files, I have written a PowerShell script to use ffmpeg to analyse and generate thumbnail files for my entire library of .wtv files (it will also work with .avi files, and no doubt others too). I initially tried using VideoLan (VLC), but this was only partially successful and was unable to generate thumbnails for a number of video files for some unknown reason.

This has worked very well for Version 4.2.5.191014 (I have not tried other versions).

No doubt, there will be many others following in our footsteps in the comings months. I wondered if my script might be a useful addition for your Wiki pages, so that others can make use of it?

Please see the attached Zip file.

Generate NextPVR import XML from recorded TV .wtv files from WMC

To make the transition from WMC to NextPVR, I have written a PowerShell script to extract the metadata from my library of 1100 .wtv files, and to generate an XML file that can be imported into NextPVR. This has worked very well for Version 4.2.5.191014 (I have not tried other versions).

TV Listings plug-in crashes NextPVR when deleting recordings
Posted by: Jimixter - 2019-12-16, 03:18 PM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - Replies (5)

We have installed and configured the TV Listings plug-in within NextPVR, as it has some nice features. However, whenever we attempt to delete a recording using this plug-in, on almost every occasion it results in NextPVR freezing, and having to be forcefully terminated from the Task Manager. The NPVR.log file also starts ballooning in size.

Once NextPVR has been terminated and re-opened, it appears that it did manage to actually delete the file.

On reviewing the logs, it appears that the RecordingSchedule routine in TV Listings is waiting for a task to complete before it can proceed, however this task never appears to complete, resulting in the program hanging.

Recorded TV list to jump to first letter(s) typed
Posted by: Jimixter - 2019-12-16, 02:04 PM - Forum: Wishlist - Replies (6)

In the Recorded TV menu, one currently has to manually scroll up/down, or use the arrow keys, to find a specific recording.

It would be great if the recorded TV list automatically jumped to recordings that began with the first letter that is typed in using a keyboard (rather like the TV Listings plug-in does), or even better, to search whilst the user continues to type (i.e. refine the search the more letters of the first word are typed) like WMC.

Request for supporting Ceton devices on Linux
Posted by: dapharsyde - 2019-12-16, 12:13 AM - Forum: Linux - Replies (280)

As requested by @mvallevand, I am opening a new thread to discuss support of Ceton devices on Linux.

I have an InfiniTV ETH6 network tuner device.  It would be incredible if the team could add native support for this device on Linux, and I would be more than happy to assist in the testing.

Let me know how I can help, thanks!
