How to get multiple channel lineups
Posted by: spaceghost - 2005-09-28, 04:42 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (2)

I am using two capture devices - pvr-250 and pvr-usb2. I want to use regular cable on the 250 and s-video from a digital cable box for the usb (I find the tuner is better on the 250). How do I get two different channel lineups? Do I have to create two separate zap2it accounts or should I be asking how to I add another lineup to my exisiting zap2it account?

Thanks

Not picking up all the channels, but WinTV does it ok?
Posted by: tentimes - 2005-09-28, 04:04 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (1)

Hi,

I'm scanning all channels to be sure I get everything - choosing only 1 transmitter leaves loads of channels out. I'm in York.

I'm missing stuff like BBC 3&4, E4+1, etc, although I do have some duplicate channels with no audio. WinTV2000 can tune everything fine, with a good signal.

I'm using WinTV nova-t USB2, BDA to tune (with correct selection for the WinTV usb2). EPC source is Bleb UK.

Anyone any idea how to fix? I saw a reg hack somewhere for manual tuning, but it looks a real nightmare to implement.

Thanks,

TT

  Hauppauge IR Blaster stops working
Posted by: xmorph - 2005-09-28, 03:38 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (6)

Hey guys,

Great Community - and great program Sub. I messed around for days trying to get MythTV going but I suck and couldn't get it to work, so I have turned to Windows and GBPVR.

I have evrything running well, guide, some extra plugins, live TV works well, I have done Record on Demand and it has worked and I have setup some programs to be recorded through the guide. Just wanted to also point out the setup took all of 15 minutes untill it was fully functional, yeah!

Now, my only real issue at this point is my IR Blaster. I have the following Hardware:

Starchoice Satellite Reciever
HTPC - (PVR-150 model 1045 with remote and connected IR Blaster, On Board sound out, Nvidia gf4 mx 400 for TV Out via Svideo)
Hitachi A/V Reciever
36" TV

So I start up windows fresh, IR.exe starts up in my startup group. I launch GBPVR and the remote works perfectly, all functions work as they should.

I program a recording for a different channel at a future time. Everything works well, GBPVR changes the channel on my Sat Reciever when the recording is to begin via the IR Blaster. Everything is still good untill the recording is done, and then the IR blaster completely locks up.

I can change things within the PVR software fine, the remote still responds, but the IR Tranciever that sits of the IR reciever on my Satellite STB dosn't work untill I exit GBPVR and restart IR.exe. I can reproduce this bug on a consistent basis, it happens evrytime GBPVR changes a channel to start a recording.

Any suggestions? Thanks in advance!

  Codecs and MVPs
Posted by: Jim - 2005-09-28, 02:39 PM - Forum: MVP & NMT - Replies (7)

Ok, I see lots of posts debating which Codecs are best, and also registry settings to configure the Codecs. But with a setup that uses a Hauppauge 350, and an MVP, am I using any codecs? I understand that the decoding is done with MVP hardware, and I THINK the 350 card encodes it in hardware also. Is this correct? If so, is there any way for me to 'tune' them to work better on my system?

Thanks!

Jim

Support for PowerView TV Tuner Card
Posted by: djrobinn - 2005-09-28, 01:49 PM - Forum: Wishlist - Replies (8)

Hi folks... I would really appreciate if you guys could support the PowerView TV Tuner card. When I saw "and lots others" in your list of supported cards, I was pretty hopeful, but upon installing the software, it didn't work for me. Sad

I'm also willing to make a donation if you guys can pull this off.

More information on the card can be obtained by clicking the following link:

Thanx and anxiously awaiting.

update xmltv & epg via custom task
Posted by: dougt1968 - 2005-09-28, 12:54 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (6)

I'm using a custom task that adds a button to the GBPvr menu to update my xmltv file. Is it possible to configue the same button to also update the epg when it has finished updating the xmltv file? as i tend not to leave the pc on for it to automatically update so it would be very handy to be able to just press one button in the menu to update both files in one go.
many thanks

"Error playing back file" in continious viewing
Posted by: capone - 2005-09-28, 12:22 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (8)

In the last day or so, I've had TV stop right after switching to the next program, and I get an "Error playing back file" error.

Here's the error from the GB log:

Quote:9/28/2005 1:00:04 AM.250 ERROR [2] Error: msg=0x8001 hwnd=0xe0110 wparam=0x0 lparam=0x0 result=0x0 : System.Exception: Failure playing back file

at xae10db17d26ba033.xbb1566157f5f8b1f.WndProc(Message& x5f8f2c40c000ab2c)

Now this is from native log. This is the interesting part: see the file it says it started to play? That was a show I stopped watching right when it started like an hour earlier (as you can see from the time code in the file name). The one at the end was the actual proceeding show to the one I was already watching. Somehow, it had it stuck in the system.

22:42:10.468 VERBOSE getSetting(PreferredAudioRenderer)
22:42:10.500 VERBOSE getSetting(PreferredAudioDecoder)

Right where it should have been, it is missing altogether.

I may try the newest version (I am one behind to the one put out the other day), but I wasn't sure if this was something it had anything to do w/.

  Setup troubles in Ireland.
Posted by: thegrayson - 2005-09-28, 10:45 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (2)

I have NTL analogue cable(co-ax), it doesnt require an external box, if I were to use a regular TV all I need to do is enter the channel frequencies supplied on the ntl.ie website and everything is done.
Is there any way I can just enter the frequencies and not have to scan?
If so in what format do the frequencies need to be? They are supplied in MHz i.e. RTE1=216MHz.

I'm not concerned about schedules or program guides, I just want to be able to watch TV in a window on my desktop as I work/study and on occasion record a show. Do I need to supply EPG data for GBPVR to work? or is there an option to leave it out?

I have a Theatre 550 tuner and am trying to find decent software to use with it. The PowerCinema app gives me a great picture, but the sound is nasty and the delay in channel changing is nuts.
With my old AIW and MMC I could either scan or use an editor to directly enter the frequencies, unfortunately MMC doesn't support the Theatre 550.

Any tips that would help me with GBPVR or the Theatre 550 would be appreciated. Thanks.

Hi

I think My Pictures is a bit slow...

For a slow PC, like VIA Epia-motherboard, it should be nice to have a background process for making picture-thumbs, at very slow priority.

It is possible to use XP-s thumbsfunction?
