  Second recording always fails
Posted by: brad911 - 2005-09-28, 04:04 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (4)

I have a dual tuner WinTV PVR-500 and every time I try to record using both tuners simultaneously I get a 0kb file.

It appears that the problem occurs both when I record during two different time slots and the shows over lap due to the pre and post padding but also occurs when I record two shows simultaneously on different channels.

The first recording always works but I get an error in the 'recordingservice' log that says the following:

27/09/2005 8:58:07 PM.576 VERBOSE [464] File does not yet exist (may fail): D:\GBPVR_Recordings\The Biggest Loser\The Biggest Loser_20050927_21002200.mpg

And as it says if you go to the appropriate directory the .mpg file has not yet been created. After the recording should have ended a 0kb recording shows up.

Anyone have any idea what happened.. I'm not winning too many points with the wife!

  Recordings: Exit vs. Cancel
Posted by: Pneumoped - 2005-09-28, 02:49 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (2)

Under the Recordings menu when I pull up a scheduled show I get 3 options - Exit, Cancel, and Update.

What is the difference between Exit and Cancel? They both seem to simply take me back to the main menu.

Thanks,

Confused using Hauppauge remote for fast forwarding...
Posted by: Pneumoped - 2005-09-28, 02:36 AM - Forum: MVP & NMT - Replies (4)

I just got my PVR up and running and tried watching a couple of our first recorded TV shows. I'm having the following problems:

  1. Let's say I want to fast forward through 20 minutes of a show, how do I do this with MVP and the Hauppauge remote? Is there a way to do this like a DVD player works with the fast forward while playing feature?
  2. I've noticed that the remote allows me to skip forward 30 or 60 seconds with each push of the button - however, this function seems to quit working after using the pause button. Anybody else seen this? I'll try to pay attention more carefully to when exactly it happens.

Cheers,
pneumoped

How do I delete a scheduled recording?
Posted by: Pneumoped - 2005-09-28, 02:27 AM - Forum: MVP & NMT - Replies (4)

I just got my PVR up and running - WAY COOL. Wife loves it too.

I programmed a few reoccurring recordings just to test things out using the GBPVR GUI on the MediaMVP. Now I want to delete these tests. I've fiddled with Recordings, TV Guide, and Search Guide to no avail.

Am I missing something or is there a plugin or utility that has enhanced control over scheduled recordings?

Thanks,
pneumoped

  Invoke a recording non-GUI?
Posted by: peabody - 2005-09-28, 02:15 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (4)

Is there any way I can invoke a manual recording either through a command line or by modifying the file with the scheduled recordings (don't know where that is)?

The reason I want to do this is because after a reboot, the pvr-250 driver does not do closed-captioning for the first recording. I would like to put something in the system startup to take care of this automatically. I would hate to have to resort to "AutoIt"...

  MVP Aspect Not Correct
Posted by: UncleJohnsBand - 2005-09-28, 01:20 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - No Replies

sub....my wife just pointed out to me that with this release the aspect ratio showing on the MVP is not correct. I am in 4:3 and the logo in the bottom right hand corner is only half showing...the other half is off the screen.

This wasn't present in the 92.12 release....any ideas?

Remote controls like Fast Forward only work with MPEG - Not DivX
Posted by: Cybergy - 2005-09-28, 01:09 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (3)

My PVR150 remote works fine with MPEG (gbpvr) encoded files. With my other files (which are all DivX) the remote controls like fast forward, pause, stop, rewind - have no effect.

I can only press MENU and exit.

Does GBPVR hand off to another player for DivX that uses different functions/keystrokes to achieve these operations?

Oh to not be a newbie ... someday perhaps.

When I run out of old ShowShifter recordings to watch - this problem will go away, but that will take some time.

Whoa! Whole bunch of failed recordings that didn't fail!
Posted by: glassvial - 2005-09-28, 12:55 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (16)

Turned on the TV today to see "no scheduled recordings" ... HUH??

Found out my TV guide wasn't being updated somehow (my zap2it account is still good for at least another month) so I did a manual epg update. Now when I go into GB-PVR there's nothing in the what's new list, and everything that WAS in the what's new list is now flagged as failed, even though it did indeed record! Any ideas??

  vb.net plugins
Posted by: silversky - 2005-09-28, 12:40 AM - Forum: Developers - Replies (3)

Are there any plugins developed in vb.net? I am new to vb.net (familiar with vb6) and GBPVR. I would like to get sample plugin code developed under vb.net. Anyone develop in vb.net? thanks!

  XRecord v.41

http://gbpvr.com/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Plugin/XRecord

To report bugs and the latest source can be found at
https://sourceforge.net/projects/cdkandxsuite

If you decide to use the recycler. I have tested that when I delete a file it gets copied to the specified directory. Note! your directories need to be matched for example if the file is on f:\video\x.mpg and your recycler directory is c:\recycler. I will delete the file. It must be on the same drive like f:\recycler

It is new and I am sure there are some bugs. Please let me know if you have problems or if it works great. Smile

v.41 2005-09-27
*Rectracker add -subtitle to purge line
it will add logic to skip a show if it typically contains subtitles and for whatever reason
the epg has the generic description
*sort reoccurring by default
*fixed resoltion bug for xrecord and xsearch
*added some code to try to fix the missing image bug
*In pending if you hit ctrl-r it pulls up a comming soon list. Hit ctrl-r again and it will show a weekly list.
* added a ctrl-r equavlent in ready and xvideo with recent recordings. weekly and today
* include new cdk
*wrote a tool called the recycler. When it runs it checks a directory lets say [c:\recycled] not windows recycler.
If the amount of free space is below the user specified limit we will start deleting the oldest file out of this
directory. until the amount of free space is above this limit.
while ( checks the space )
{
removes oldest from recycler dir
}
* can create a file called gbpvr\recycler.txt see sample 1recycle.txt
if that file is found xrecord will use the recycler.
