I am new to this forum. I have been using GB-PVR for about 3 months now. great work guys.

Couple days ago when I was watching a recorded show, I paused it for too long. When I returned to watch the show, there was no audio during playback. Restarting the program/computer didn't help. I tried changing the audio decoder selection under GB-PVR config playback tab but still nothing happened. I've installed the latest version (posted sept-17) hoping it would fix the problem. No luck there. Now I've noticed that there is no audio playback even when watching live TV. When I use the Hauppage WinTV2000 software, I have no trouble getting the audio playback. Help please!

Re PC recording with GB-PVR I'm planning to start off by buying either a:
- TwinhanDTV http://www.twinhan.com/product_terrestrial_1.asp OR
- WinFast TV2000 http://www.leadtek.com/multimedia/winfas...prm_1.html

I am about to get the TwinhanDTV I think, but any suggestions/advice regarding which of these 2 value for money cards would be best? Is the TwinhanDTV OK? (reliability, integration with GB-PVR {I see the twinhanDTV is mentioned in the wiki} etc)

Hi, I hope somebody can help me. Am trying to automatically activate hibernation in Windows XP SP2. I know it is supported, since my board is ACPI compliant. I have setup all the Power Options correctly, set hibernation to 15 minutes, but the system will not hibernate. Hibernation works if I activate it manually either through the START button or through the SHUTDOWN plug-in from the MVP. I have check all my services, I have even tried to disable other services, but still to no avail. I don't know what to do next. I can't find what is preventing Windows from hibernating automatically.

I switched from PVRPowerTray to ParaLED due to stability issues and ParaLED works fine. The only complaint I have is every time I change channels or watch a show from the guide it pops up a MS-DOS window to run RecordingStatus.bat. It disappears after half a second or so, but it's annoying. I've added '@echo off' to the batch file, but is there a way to make the window not show up in the first place?
I know there used to be an option to 'run minimized' but I can't find that. I'm running XP Pro SP2.

I am using Windows XP home edition for my PVR and I have a wireless adapter that I am using to keep my EPG updated. I can log on to my router and gain access to the internet with no problems and I stay connected for hours. However, at some point, I always lose my internet connection? Windows tells me I am still connected, but if I try and connect to anything on the internet, I get a message that I have NO internet access. I can log off and back on and still nothing. The only way I can re-gain access is by re-booting... then everything works great for a couple of hours or so until the same thing happens again.

I have deleted all of the drivers and software for the adapater and network connection and re-installed them again and again to no avail. Does anyone have any ideas? I did see something in the help section of XP that indicated this might be a problem with XP, but I downloaded the SPs and installed them and it did not help? I'm stumped. :confused:

Does anyone have any comments on the possibility of, instead of buying a MediaMVP (ie to save a few $), connecting the PC to TV directly by buying 15m-20m of video/audio and somehow extending the remote. In particular:

[1] Re extending the remote - Options would be I guess:

(a) to use the remote that comes with your tuner card [e.g. I see a good deal on the TwinhanDTV Ter D+A http://www.twinhan.com/product_terrestrial_1.asp) at the moment] with a remote control extender. Anyone had experience here? Would you recommend this?

(b) extend the PC mouse itself somehow (perhaps wireless mouse with extension cable?) - this might be better as you can then use the GB-PVR interface directly + use other PC capabilities?

[2] Video output - I guess this concept would require (assuming the PC is not dedicated to the PVR function) to using a non-primary video output and directing the GB-PVR program to that screen (i.e. the PC monitor would be primary, with the TV in the other room being secondary). Assuming I was using a fairly standard PC video card would the quality/resolution be inferior to the MVP?

Any comments on this concept re signal quality, useability, functionality, integration with GB-PVR? (e.g. potentially may end up with a more functionality at the TV) Or is this a bad idea and I should just go out and buy a MediaMVP?

I can see teletext with the gbpvr application on the pc, but i can't see teletext on the mediamvp (red button). I do see a gray overlay with the page number 100 and a clock. But no teletext pages.

does anyone know what might be wrong?

Ever since I rebuilt the OS on my hard drive and installing ver 9408 I have been having recording problems.

(windows xp pro sp2)

I can view the tv guide and use the search feature to find shows. but when I try to do a reoccuring record it doesnt work. It will list the shows under pending but when the time comes to record it will not record. if i have a conflict the conflict screen will not show the conflict. also it I go back to the tv guide the shows i have picked to record don't list in red like it used to.

live tv works and quick record works but not scheduling a series.

Help I'm missing all my late night shows and the new seasons premiers.

Thanks for this wonderful thing.
But i am at the end of my knowledge. I reinstalled GPVR and did go thru the config. I understand i have to import my XML file to get a channel name list.
Now i should be able to change Channel source nummer into the one that tuning assitant gave me. But every time i exit the config tool and reenter it the channels source numbers are reset to 0,1,2,...
I have don't it a zillion times tried everything but nothing works, it's as if GBPVR doesn't update its database. I would edit it manually but i don't know where i can do that.
Before the reinstall i was able to change the channel source numbers and it would stay that way.

Please, if any can help me....ugh
