first of all i would like to say that GBPVR is awesome, and developing in very exciting ways. I had been using an old old version (maybe from late 2004?) and i just decided to add some hardware to my PVR (including a DVD burner) which led me to update my GBPVR and....oh my! Very nice!
Anyhow, here is where I am at: I want to be able to do two things with the DVD burner: burn TV shows (with comskip points as chapters) and rip DVDs to my computer, then be able to watch them or burn them.
I thought MyVideos could do all this, but clearly I do not know how to configure it (or I am wrong).
I have all the requisite software installed (I think), including DVDDecrypter, all the software called for in myvideos (binaries etc), Nero 6.6.0.16, Demon Tools, etc. I configured it as I thought I am supposed to (in myvideos plugin setup dvddecrypter path is right, there is a DVD temp folder) but when I put in a DVD I cannot click the "Copy DVD" button?
How can I rip the DVDs into ISOs, then mount them when I want to and then burn them when I want to? I have D-Tools installed and its pointed to the right directory in the config setup.....
I'm struggling to set up my Hauppage Nova-t USB2 device to work with GB-PVR. It worth noting that the device has installed fine and the WinTV2000 software works fine. However, according to this forum it should be compatible and work with GB-PVR, but I can't seem to find the right configuration. The device isn't specifically listed in the 'Edit Recording Source' 'capture Card Type' list...so which one should I use? Or is there something else I need to do to get the TV working through GB-PVR?
is there any way to enable "live preview" on an MVP?
I have the "use live preview mode if possible" selected. It's right on the PC but on the MVP it is always in timeshift mode. Possibly machine specific, anybody find a way to force live preview?
also on the MVP whenever the OSD is up, the entire screen gets dark, not blank, just kind of like looking through a dark translucent transpanency.
This does not happen on the PC, any ideas?
after upgrading to the latest version, I noticed an extra option under "misc" in the config-tool. According to this option I should be able to generate teletext-subtitles into a .srt-file.
I know my pvr350 is able, I also receive PAL-teletext, living in The Netherlands, with subtitles in teletext-page 888, so only two questions remain:
1) what are the settings/actions, to generate srt-files?
2) does it mean that both srt-files and the mpeg-files are created while recording?
Did I already mention that gbpvr is a pretty solid peace of work? It is!
I'm having some very strange tuning issues - here's what's happening...
Hardware - Hauppauge PVR-250
A couple of channels (UK Channel 5 in particular) have quite noticable interferance. The really strange thing is that if I view them with WinTV they are fine!
I can't figure out how there can be a difference in picture quality when the same tuner is being used.
Have been trying to get this to work with little success.
i have 7 folders in the root of my directory, i can browse all fine except the largest that has around 6000 tracks. as soon as i select this i get 'object not set to an instance' runtime error. thought it might be because the app hadnt fully scanned the directory, but i have waited until the \jeff\musicplayer.log indicates that it has scanned everything (around 8 mins) , but still the same error. cant find anything in gbpvr log except an unrelated 'error loading sation list' relating to 'fm_radio_station'. there is nothing different about this folder other than it having the largest number of tracks.
I purchased a pinnacle 300i media centre kit for £39.95 from by local PC World Store (Bangor, N.Wales) yesterday. The supplied software is Ok I guess, but certainly not a patch on Sub's program. As GB-PVR supports this card, has anyone managed to get the remote control working?
Just installed my MVP which works perfectly with the Hauppauge software. However when i run it with GB-PVR it does not boot beyond the 3 blue bar unless I run the MVPMediaSVc service. I thought I was having IP issues but the MVP is picking up a DHCP address from my server on the network although it is not added to the subnet table unless MVPMediaSVc service is started. I can ping it though as the debug log on the server tells me the address supplied.
I understand that you should not require the MVPMediaSVc service to be running and I would prefer that it did not as others have reported issues.
Please help if you can. The hardware is as follows:
