Staying "Focused", this might be a WISHLIST item
Posted by: SFX Group - 2005-08-28, 03:02 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (16)

Hi

So knowing you cant use the REMOTE from Hauppage unless the Windows is "focused" as i dont use my PVR for a PC very often its for TV only, when I get an alert on the screen like "Virus definitions updated" then when I sit down the remote wont work as the program isn’t focused, the virus alert is instead…. ...

Can you write something in the RECORDING Service that will pull the GBPVR screen to focus every 1 min or how ever often the "user" (being me) sets it to????

I dont want to use FULL SCREEN as sometimes i use the PC itself but then its annoying when the GBPVR screen is up and running but not focused so I cant use it, I then have to walk into a another room as the PVR isn’t in the same room as the TV..???

Many Thanks
Ashley

  DirectDraw?
Posted by: reven - 2005-08-28, 02:07 PM - Forum: Developers - Replies (2)

ive been playing around with animation and was wondering if using directdraw to draw everything and then return the final image, if that would be quicker than using the standard.

Graphics g = Graphics.FromFile(bitmap);

ive never even touched directdraw before, im not sure if its even possible to get the final image from directdraw, but if its would it be worth it?

i was reading over at mediaportal and thats how they seem to do their graphics (they can easily get 25fps that way, im struggling with 15fps at 98% cpu).

so anyone with any experience with this? or should i just go and buy a p6 6GHz cpu???

  New Recordings not showing up
Posted by: Lajoie - 2005-08-28, 01:57 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (3)

Hi,

I don't know what's happening but I just entered a new recording for this afternoon using the TV-Guide or XGuide, but once entered, the guides are not updated (the Show in the guide do not appear in red to show that it will be recorded).
Also, in Video (Video Archive plug-in), when I look at the pending listing for today, the Show is not scheduled.
But if I look at the guide through the EnhandedWebAdmin, the Show appear as scheduled...
So which one is to trust?
Will the show be recorded or not?
What should I look for to debug this problem? (Maybe there is some logs???)

P.S. The Shows that were scheduled under GB-PVR 0.92.11 all appear fine, but I am not sure if I ever succeed to add a new Show under 0.93.10... Could it be a problem with the DB missing a new column or something like that???

Thanks

Sound got being restored after fast forward/rewind
Posted by: reckoning - 2005-08-28, 11:09 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (17)

When I view a dvd and fast forward or rewind I get no sound when I click the pause button to resume playback. I have to quit and then play again.

I've altered the Audio Renderer setting to be my sound card (SB Audigy Audio [E000]) and it still does it. However I've noticed that if I check the volume level in control panel that the wav slider is all the way to the bottom (mute). I can slide it back up and everything's fine. So I did a test and noticed that as soon as I click the fast forward button with my mouse the slider shoots to the bottom. I'm guessing that the muting part is by design but it should return to the normal volume when I click the pause button (twice) to play back normally, which isn't happening so its staying mute.

Has this bug all ready been reported?

Cheers.

  problem with "timelineGraphic" (Osd element)
Posted by: JWJr - 2005-08-28, 03:16 AM - Forum: Old Stuff (Legacy) - Replies (2)

In working with the new "timelineGraphic" Osd element with my custom MVP skin, I've run into some problems trying to resize the graphic (I'd like to make it the entire width of the screen).

Specifically, when I widen the "size" parameter, the position indicator works properly (showing a positional percentage of the new width, but the green rectangle along which the position indicator moves is still drawn at the original 320-pixel width. So, you get a pointer moving correctly along an incomplete box.

Thanks again for GB-PVR! It's the best! -JW

  Theatrix in GB-PVR
Posted by: jang - 2005-08-28, 03:14 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (19)

Hello. First of all, I hope I got this question in the right forum. I recently got the Sapphire Theatrix. It's working fine with Cyberlink PowerCinema. I want to use GB-PVR with this tv tuner. I can't get it to work. The steps I did was:

1. Under GB-PVR config:
a. Go to Capture sources tab--> ADD--> Recording Source-->Direct Recording Plugin --> Settings --> Capture card type --> ATI Theater 550 Pro --> Country (since Philippines isn't listed, I chose USA, I think it will be the same since US also uses NTSC) --> Board number --> Capture Device #1 --> Source --> Internal tuner --> Tuning --> Cable
b. Channels - Everything is blank

2. I go to Tuning assistant
a. Card Type --> ATI Theater 550 Pro
b. Country --> USA
c. Cable

3. It will just hang my whole PC. Am I doing anything wrong? Thanks

  Files
Posted by: BigT - 2005-08-28, 02:33 AM - Forum: Old Stuff (Legacy) - No Replies

I am using the newest version of GB-PVR and I love it. I also use comskip, comlean and renamerecording. I get a txt file, a bat file and a log file along with an original.mpg file. I no longer need the original.mpg file how and where do I get rid of it and which files do I need and which ones can I get rid of and how?

Thanks,
Tom

error: Failed to communicate with the Recording Service
Posted by: BobAtTorrey - 2005-08-28, 01:26 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (8)

Sub,
Trying to play an FM Radio station via MVP I got the message "Failed to communicate with the Recording Service".
Prior to the crash I had been channel surfing in LiveTV via the MVP. Then I stopped and tried to play the radio station, still via MVP, with the error cited above. After getting the error, I ran GBVR on my PC and tried to play the FM Radio station, which was successful.
Excerpts of GBVR.exe.log and GBVRRecordingService.exe.log are attached in a zip file.

Many thanks for your support and all the work you do on the product.

Cheers .... Bob
