I'm still quite new to gbpvr so im still overcoming some teething problems. I now seem to have it all working ok with my mediamvp. I can play my video (mpeg2) files file over mvp with no playback problems. However, when i record a tv show and play it back over the mvp it sticks frequently and stutters every few seconds. If i play back the recording using gbpvr on me pc it works fine. Why would video playback be ok using my mvp for other video files but struggle with tv recorded ones? surely they are just the same?
I've read a bit about replacing the quartz.dll but i've tried this and its still the same. If i can fix this i think i will be sorted. GBPVR is fantastic! it would be shame if i couldnt fix this.
I've noticed that my EPG had slowly become corrupted, with lots of 'To be announced' in todays listings, programs being recorded slightly off-time & length, films split over a couple of entries etc.
I tried updating the EPG manually a couple of times (both by right clicking on the recording service icon & through the config) however this made no changes to the EPG with GBPVR.
I checked within the XML file and the times/listings in question that were corrupted in GBPVR were fine in the XML file. The only way I could get the listings in GBPVR to display correctly was to empty the EPG first.
I'm not sure if this is reproduceable, I'll see what happens over time from now on.
I've just recently had this problem. Sometimes (but not every time), pressing stop on the remote causes the screen to go black and GB-PVR freezes. I have to Ctrl-Alt-Del to get out.
I would be very grateful if someone could explain this excerpt from the log. Thanks.

I have a plextor PX-tv402u USB 2.0 card. and i'm trying for some time to find a way to tune it under GP-PVR.
The GP-PVR config program can detect my card but my contry isn't present in the "device configuration" menu (Portugal). So i tried to use "tunnig assistant" but i can't find my card there :confused: .
I have a rather generic MVP question. Can you select on the unit whether it is PAL or NTSC, or are there separate versions for the US and Europe? And is the power supply 220v/50hz happy?
I want to pick one up, but in Sweden they are almost double the USA price, and I am going back to the US in a few months time. Should I wait or bite the bullet and pay the rip-off swedish price...
While playing with my newly built PVR system and tweaking the ATI Catalyst Control Center settings, I got the idea of trying to write a GB-PVR plugin that would automatically set the overscan mode of a Radeon graphics adapter before and after playing a recorded video. I skimmed through the ATI CCC SDK, and at first it looked like it'd be an easy bit of code. Here's the quick test VB.net sample I tried:

It does run, but so.GetOverscanSupported() returns false no matter what I try (including running it on a system with TV-Out). I'm guessing that the new instances I create have no actual relationship to the settings in use on the graphics adapter itself. However, looking through the SDK, I can't figure out any other way to obtain an instance of that object...I can't find anything that returns a "ScreenOverscan" object.
id like to mention that gb is awesome and im watching tv with my 150. but is there a way i can record video games using gbpvr? i dont have mce, and im not sure how to do this really. ill be using composite cables.
I just completed compiling a neat little applet that lets the user query the gbpvr db via a Blackberry like device. It should also work for any other text message device. Assuming the device possesses a hefty message buffer, else the text gets cut off. In brief it will allow the user to request listing information, run external OS script commands (*.BAT ) and finally schedule multiple shows for record. Iâm still trying to debug it.
The program runs on Windows XP but 2000 should also work. The app minimizes to the system tray, though it does not run as a service, âyetâ. It has a limited number of commands. Ok only four, for now.
The command syntax goes something like this:
ECMD:HELP , emails user the help file to pager.
ECMD:SRCH=batt where âbatâ is the text contained in the listing. (I.E) Batman , Battlestart Galactica, Ect. You get the idea.
ECMD:RUN# where # is an umber from 1 to 999, and associated file by the name of RUN1.bat Ect. , must reside in the apps home directory.
ECMD:TAPE
You can cut and past the results of ECMD:SRCH and replace the program ID with $ â¦.$. (I.E)
Email subject should read ECMD:TAPE
Email message should ready,
