Zap2It update working 10% of time
Posted by: SLGF2A - 2005-08-06, 11:44 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (1)

I've been getting EPG info from Zap2It for GBPVR for the last year or so without any problems. Within the last couple of weeks I've noticed the nightly EPG update is only successful about once a week. When I do a manual update through Config I have to try 4 or 5 times to get it to work. I get the "your EPG source does not appear to be configured correctly...".

The relavant section of the config log appears to be

I reinstalled GBPVR and emptied the EPG but the problem remains. My subscription is current. I'm assuming this is not a problem with GBPVR but I wanted to throw this out there and see if anyone has any thoughts. Thanks

  Help scheduling recordings
Posted by: Jeff - 2005-08-06, 10:10 PM - Forum: Developers - Replies (1)

I am working on a new plug-in that schedules recordings and I have some questions. The first is, when calling the ScheduleRecording funciton one the parameters that is passed is the recording group. I am wondering what this is and how I select the approraite value to pass for this.

The other thing I don't understand is how I check for and resolve conflicts when scheduling things.

Any tips or code code samples would be welcome.

Thanks

Jeff

  Microsoft MPG-2 Demultiplexer
Posted by: Bacon2002 - 2005-08-06, 08:29 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (3)

Hi,

I am trying to setup some channels for my DVB-S card (Twinham Sat CI), when I press the "Map Digitally channels to EPG channels " I receive the following message box:-

"The Microsoft MEPG-2 Demultiplexer does not seem to be available on your machine. Don't ignore this error, DBA support will not work with out it."

Can you help as I have been unable to get the programme to work with my card.

Many thanks,

David

  gbpvr support Asus TV Card???
Posted by: Pheare - 2005-08-06, 07:29 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (2)

Hey all,

I have an Ausus TV FM Card - 7135. Here are the specs from their website:

Video/Audio Decoder Philips 7135
TV Tuner Philips NTSC or PAL

I don't see Asus or Philips in the Capture Card list. Is there another card I can select that will work?

Thanks.

Epia 600 / Very slow PC
Posted by: nimod - 2005-08-06, 04:46 PM - Forum: Hardware - Replies (6)

Hi everyone.
I bought a AverMedia 150 MCE a few days ago and it works just great with GBPVR. I'm very impressed by the software. I've installed it on an old PC, with a 800 Mhz CPU and it works fine.
I just want to record things and program them with the nice TV-Guide interface.

Now my question:
I have an old Epia 600 with 600 Mhz CPU. I also have a passive Power Unit for it, so it would be amazingly quiet.

Will GBpvr work on this slow PC? I don't need any timeshifting or Live-Tv stuff and my X-Box plays the recordings in a nice quality. Smile

Greetings,
nimod

EPG does not match channels in config
Posted by: jakex - 2005-08-06, 04:04 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (2)

After struggling with IR blasting and Bleb, thanks to help on this forum Cool I have now switched to using XMLTV Radio Times.
I have customised the Radio Times channel numbers to match the Sky Digi-guide channel numbers using the XMLTV config files. This all works spot on, all the channels are correctly read from the XML file into GBPVR. All channels are correctly listed in GBPVR config and they all have the correct channel ID listed for Sky Digibox IR blasting.
The problem is that some of the channels listed in the GBPVR config are not displayed in the EPG
I have tried emptying and updating the EPG, I have also recreated the capture source deleting and re-populating the channel list. the same channels are still missing.

  problem playing back recorded shows
Posted by: hardrinseron - 2005-08-06, 02:11 PM - Forum: MVP & NMT - Replies (8)

Hi,
I'm still quite new to gbpvr so im still overcoming some teething problems. I now seem to have it all working ok with my mediamvp. I can play my video (mpeg2) files file over mvp with no playback problems. However, when i record a tv show and play it back over the mvp it sticks frequently and stutters every few seconds. If i play back the recording using gbpvr on me pc it works fine. Why would video playback be ok using my mvp for other video files but struggle with tv recorded ones? surely they are just the same?
I've read a bit about replacing the quartz.dll but i've tried this and its still the same. If i can fix this i think i will be sorted. GBPVR is fantastic! it would be shame if i couldnt fix this.

  EPG Corruption (using xmltv)
Posted by: DEfusion - 2005-08-06, 01:46 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (7)

I've noticed that my EPG had slowly become corrupted, with lots of 'To be announced' in todays listings, programs being recorded slightly off-time & length, films split over a couple of entries etc.

I tried updating the EPG manually a couple of times (both by right clicking on the recording service icon & through the config) however this made no changes to the EPG with GBPVR.

I checked within the XML file and the times/listings in question that were corrupted in GBPVR were fine in the XML file. The only way I could get the listings in GBPVR to display correctly was to empty the EPG first.

I'm not sure if this is reproduceable, I'll see what happens over time from now on.

  Freezing after pressing stop..?
Posted by: Beaker - 2005-08-06, 12:44 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (3)

I've just recently had this problem. Sometimes (but not every time), pressing stop on the remote causes the screen to go black and GB-PVR freezes. I have to Ctrl-Alt-Del to get out.

I would be very grateful if someone could explain this excerpt from the log. Thanks.
