Bear with me I'm doing this from memory as I'm waiting for Broadband at my new abode.
Have run GB-PVR config a few times trying to get DVB-T channels in a a couple of poor reception areas. Had it prompt me for some mpeg code that ships with Showshifter and fail to start my card (and then crash) when I've misconfigured. But eventually I worked it out and got it up and running to discover the reception at these locations was too poor.
Now I'm settled I've come to set it up and I went and chose the wrong Nova-T model and it crashed when mapping channels to epg entries (after telling me it failed to start the BDA drivers for the card). After the crash and choosing the correct Nova-T model in the BDA driver config it now asks me to find the configuration folder when I map the channels. Then if I navigate into a drive it just hangs offering me none of the folders therein.
An uninstall (with manual folder delete to eliminate and corrupt config stuff remaining) and reinstall results in the same situation. Any clues?
This is a bit of a shot in the dark but some time ago when Javinet wrote the LCD plugin for JALCD, it was mentioned that there was a priliminary version (which was subsequently rejected) that he had working through LCD Smartie.
I was wondering if by any miracle that someone might have this version available for me to play around with. My VFD (imon usb) is not supported by JALCD and I don't hold out much hope for future development on JALCD. It works fine with LCD Smartie and I think this might be the was forward for me.

So i'm building an Epia SP1300 (1.3gig) based PVR with gbpvr.
I plan to use the Nova-T usb2 to get the freeview channels as I see its supported. One question I can't find the answer to is whether it has an mpeg2 encoder on it, or whether I'd need one. Don't the freeview/sky digital channels stream in mpeg2 anyway ? If they don't would the usb2 have an encoder on it to cope with that ? (obviously I would prefer to have an encoder to it since its not an overly powerfull box), or should I just go with the Nova-T PCI version ?
Also, does anyone know how well the svidio out on the mini-itx's perform ? or would I be better going for something like the PVR350 (or AIW) etc to get a better tv-out ?
Obviously, since its mini-itx, I'm limited on PCI usage. So basically should I get either:
Option a) Nova-T USB2 + PVR350 thing for tv-out ?
or option b) Nova-T PCI and use onboard tv-out ?
I live in Toronto, Ontario, Canada and am having a problem with sound when using the PVR 150. The video is perfect but I cannot hear any sound. If I crank my speakers, I can hear the sound very quietly. Is there any sound settings with the GB-PVR which I can modify? I tried watching tv using the wintv2000 application and everything is fine. I really like the look of this program and would love to start using it. Is there some log file somewhere which I could look for the problem in? Can I post a log file somewhere? Using a Sound Blaster Live! card on an AMD 2500+ with 512 MB ram.
When I installed GBPVR I already had a outside facing website running with Apache on my Windows box (the same box I turned into my PVR) and I wanted to be able to hit the WebInterface as a sub directory off my main site, not going to some weird port. So here's how I got the Web Interface working through my Apache server instead of having it run by GBPVR.
I ran the config.exe and set the password for the web admin and then unchecked it so that the web admin wouldn't be running through GBPVR.
I installed the Apache CLI from http://httpd.apache.org/cli/ and then modified my httpd.conf with the following lines.

You'll have to set up your paths to match your setup and what you want the directory to look like.
Restart your Apache web service and then you can access your gbpvr web admin via the path your setup (in my case it's /gbpvr) using the password you setup in the config.exe.
Just to let everyone know, we're just nearing the end of the testing cycle for the next release, so it should be available in the next few days assuming no serious issues pop up...
i will be going off to college soon, and will be getting a 19 inch lcd monitor. i want to use this as my tv and for playing games on it. i want to record shows, watch tv, and play my xbox. i heard that internal cards have issues with game consoles with a slight buffer causing delay. i also want to play my xbox in high definition. if that wasnt enough i need to make sure its compatible with gb-pvr.
i will be a college kid so the cheapest way to do this is ideal. any ideas would be great. thanks.
Is it me or are the menu fonts of the default skin different from the Logo font? There's an obvious difference in opacity but the fonts themselves appear to be different. :confused:
I'd like the official wiki to the be added to the main http://www.gbpvr.com page.
Currently I have to click on "Plugins" then click on the link to "http://gbpvr.bladerhq.com" and then find a link on there who's content has been moved to the official wiki.
I know I could just bookmark it, but that official wiki is a great resource and it's a shame that it's so convoluted to get to it.
1) Can I play DVD's on the MVP using GB-PVR? If not why does it have options for DVD settings etc? Is there a set up FAQ for this?
2) Has anyone successfully set up a Twinham SAT CI card with GB-PVR so that you can watch live TV? If so how did you do as I have had lot of problems and still not yet managed it.
