It would assist users considerably if users could tick a configuration box to enable Graphedit remote connect.

I realise that Graphedit remote connect makes gbpvr unstable, and therefore this tick box could be considered as a debug mode, and even bring up a debug mode warning message when gppvr launches.

This would empower users (like me) to do more of their own diagnostics rather than relying on gbpvr support staff.

Sub - could you please use use Graphedit remote connect on your development version to capture the filter configuration in preview mode and post into this thread for me?

I would appreciate 2 graphedit captures, one with interlace=node, and other with interlace=encoder-pass-through.

I would do this myself except that the production gbpvr version does not support Graphedit remote connect, but did note on an old thread that you can do this on a development gbpvr version.

1.when i select live tv it comes up with the error unable to load

2.when I try to play my recordings i get see video and the controls but the video part is black and white, very choppy and is is rectangles. I have tried it with vrm9, vrm7 and overlay. I have been using intervideo noncss video decoder

I now have GBPVR running with an MVP over a Wireless Lan (WDS Bridging). The Mainconcept (Hauppage ) MPEG Decoders work best (smoothest) or me.

I get the feed downstairs OK on the TV for about 2 mins then I (keep getting) an error related to GBVRRecordingService.exe and HTMpgMux.ax

It happens when I have the Recording service running (but not GBPVR on the PC).

Searched the forum/internet but no joy. Anyone had a similar prob or any ideas on this one?

As I have received immensely good support from the posts in this forum, I thought I'd give something back, albeit small.

GBPVR does not have an option to choose Hong Kong, simply because HK is one of the countries that does not have fixed frequencies assigned to channels, but a bunch of "offset" (from nominal) frequencies with often similar but weird channel numbers like 49+++. There are 47 different sets of channels for each of the 47 locations, for JUST 4 channels.

You thus need to DEFINE another country, so you can choose it in the GBPVR config menu. I used "United Kingdom" (country Code 44) which is also "PAL I", like HK.

I found two ways of specifying the correct frequencies:

A. At first, I used the native application that came with my TV Card device to "Scan" and report the frequencies in my area (My TVWalker does it only to the nearest 25kHz), then you can either:

(a) MANUALLY input these frequencies into the Windows XP registry which saves frequencies in the following key using the format from Microsoft for Country Code (852) / Antenna or Cable (0 or 1) / Frequency (Number in Hz).

OR

(b) Automagically use software such as described in http://gbpvr.com/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Utili...gAssistant (Freqshifter e.g.) to do the registry change step for me, having told Freqshifter the correct frequencies.

B. Calculated them from the Nominal Frequencies:

http://www.asiawaves.net/hong-kong-tv.htm gives a series of Channels, but no frequencies.

For GENERAL Hong Kong frequencies in various parts of HK I found two files:

1. http://www.ofta.gov.hk/zh/freq-spec/tvbnet.pdf (Chinese)
2. http://www.ofta.gov.hk/en/freq-spec/tvbnet.pdf (English)

So I made and used the attached spreadsheet to CALCULATE the offset frequencies based on the area you live in and the defined offset from the "Nominal Frequency".

If you live in HK, I hope you find this useful, and it gets you up and running faster than I was!

btw the fellow who wrote TVXB also lives in HK. (http://www.tvxb.com) (TVXB will make your xmltv.xml file).

NOTE that for the Broadcast Channels, the default TVXB ini's for HK do NOT have the channel number, just an ID. So updating the EPG in GB-PVR may throw up Channel 1 and 2, rather than the 49, 51, 53 or 55 you (may) have defined above. If you defined these as 1, 2, 3 or 4 you may wish to ensure in TVXB that they are also names as 1,2,3 or 4.

In Germany we have to programs at one channel. At 21:00 the one channel stops and the other begins.
So I set two programs to the same channel ID, but GB-PVR imports only one of them.
1. What can I do to import both programs?
2. Is there a option to set a time where the program is available (like Ki.Ka 00:00 to 21:00, Tele5 21:00 to 00:00).

Occasionally I'd like to be able to route the audio output through my pvr350 rather than my soundcard is this possible ?

And If so how can it be done ?

Basically I'd like to be able to send music to another room whilst my children use the PC themselves

I normally use an MVP but thats in the same room as the PC

I tried changing the playback decoder to be the pvr350 rather than software but that still seemed to be sending the audio out via the soundcard.

any help/suggestions gratefully received

Hello,

First of all GBPVR is a great application. I used to use MyHTPC but after a rebuild of my HTPC (new case, HD and O.S.) I decided to switch to GBPVR and I don't regret it. It much more faster and easier to install :o . The only drawback is its fixed resolution.

I'm currently using the PLATINUM skin and after installing MyPictures plugin I noticed that all screen resolutions are 720 by 480. So all my pictures are shown in 720 by 480.... As my HTPC is connected via VGA to my 32 inch LCD TV, which has a native resolution of 1280 by 768, I have configured my HTPC windows screen also to 1280 by 768. This means that my pictures are first scaled down to 720 by 480 and then by windows scaled up to 1280 by 768. :mad:
Now I know that it is possible to develop your own skins using an higher resolution or modify existing ones but this takes a lot of work. In order to have a different skin per resolution it might be possible to make the skins resolution independent and let GBPVR program itself calculate the ideal resolution (based on windows settings). Placing of objects in a skin could be done using relative coordinates. Also the sizing of the fonts could be relative in relation to the screen resolution in order to prevent that the text becomes to small to read.

An other point is the aspect ratio. It would be handy to define the aspect ratio (16:9, 4:3 or 5:4 for some LCD computer screens) of the used screen in the Config app so all the plugins could make use of it...

Not sure if this is possible but it would be nice to be able to display weather info during the playback of a file (similar to the mini-guide currently viewable during playback). Maybe just the temp, humidity and wind.

Along the same lines, I'm wondering if it would be possible to have a pluggin that displays something on the screen duing playback when, for example, a severe thunderstorm watch, tornado watch, etc is issued for the viewers area (by zip-code perhaps). I'm not sure where the info could be pulled from (NOAA ?) or what would be involved in getting the alerts to show during playback but I throw it out there as a possibility. Obviously this would be geared to those of us living in houses without windows
